@locoboxspaceship The Notes sound "funny" because your ears may not be trained to the scales Eric is using. It's interesting that there are many ways guitarists use scales that sound very off, but the music makes sense. He also may be using things like pinch harmonics , I just enjoy it for what it is

I'd listened to vai and satriani before i heard this guy.....and i was like....wow , why does his guitar tone , sound so wide open and full of character,,,,,,turn the mids up kid , oh and fender and marshall been humpin forra while now,,,,,i love his clean tone.... just like ringin a bell

@420pabst that tone is something that I as a classical musician love about Johnson. It is something that we have lost in modern music since the 1950's in my opinion. Electric instruments are not suppose to cover up a bad player, they should be used to make a good one more versatile.
