  • BOOGAYYY BOOGAYYY

  • Floyd's suit is pretty slick.

  • boogie in the muppet show

  • Was this the only thing that Lips sang in?

  • @chemicalreaction94

this is the ONLY time you EVER heard something come from Lips besides his trumpet playing!

  • @RedaFox1 Well if you mean "anything" Lips did say a few things in the movie "The Great Muppet Caper."

  • how can u dislike this u miserable fuckers....!!!!

  • Whoa, I've never heard Lips speak before. He sounds a lot like Hoots the Owl from Sesame Street.

  • click: 2:11 ...if you want to skip to the best part

  • OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY......BOO BOO - Say the man in the theater box...sounds like rap. xD

  • yeah der trompeter hats voll drauf xD

  • i wish Lips and Zoot would have been more prominent

  • 504? Is that episode where is Shirley in it?

  • 7 people don't boogie in the barnyard

  • I would definitely download Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem's songs!

  • Too funny ! Simpler really IS better. To those who are kids-try watching these old repeats sometimes. You might find that its better than some of the other stuff that out there today. It certainly was back then!

  • 7 people dont like the muppets.....they must like seasame street better

  • and all we have today is lady gaga............

  • Il chitarrista mancino è DIO!

  • This is Lips' debut.

  • one of the best electric mayhem numbers i've ever heard

and on a side note, lips sounds awesome! i'd never heard him before this and i wish he would've sung more!

  • Louis Jordan & the Muppets. It just doesn't get better than this!

  • this song has soul

  • I never knew Lips sounded like that

  • lol

  • Genius.

  • I'd like Rowlf instead of Dr. Teeth :-( but this is one of the best muppet videos! What a music!!!

  • left handed guitars

  • @cichriz That's because the puppeteers are basically working backward using monitors with the image reversed so that they can see what the audience sees.

  • Man I was lucky this show existed when i was a kid..kids of today are stuck with that hannah montana crap........and high school musical...so sad.....they need to bring back the Muppets

  • Hee -- the cat with the eyepatch is the one from The Cat Came Back!

  • "'Cluck, cluck, cluck' said the little white hen,

    Let's boogie in the barnyard."

You wouldn't believe how catchy that is.

  • wow, i didn't know that steve's voice could go that low, especially since i'm so used to hearing him play higher pitched characters like Wembley, Rizzo, Bean Bunny, and Kermit.

hopefully we'll be able to see lips a bit more with the Mayhem and maybe even hear him talk more too!

  • I know, right? He's such a cool charcter, but in a season and 2 movies, he got 3 lines. But cuz he was at Christmas at Rockefeller, there's a good chance he'll be in the upcoming movie!

  • How much I loved this from Louis Jordan :D Let's swing out and boogie in the barnyard :D

  • animal just cannot contain himself...!! ha

  • "Boo! Boo! Say the men on the theatre box at 'Boogie in the Barnyard'"

Statler & Waldorf are sooooooooooo funny! I love them!!! XD

  • @piccinetto I love those guys. They always put a smile on my face.

  • @piccinetto Me too! They crack me up!

  • So much love for Lips 8'D He and Zoot should definitely have more lines. MOAR

  • ya Lips hasn't been in anything since Muppet's Christmas Carol

  • Holy cow! ( no pun intended )

    Is animal wearing a suit?!

  • 1:33 ^^

  • "Boo-boo said the men in the theater box, dont boogie in the barnyard" hahahaha! Hilarious

  • °°°°....bailemos en el corral....°°°°

great performance the Electric Mayhem all together!

  • can you upload the full episode from season 2 episode 504

  • I miss this show.

  • ohh yeah give us the beat

  • is the orange muppet with the trumpet Louis Armstrong??

    sounds a lot like him.

  • His name is Lips. The performer, Steve Whitmore. was trying to give him a Louis Armstrong voice. However, at the time when he was doing Lips on The Muppet Show, he didn't feel comfortable with the character's voice, so Steve didn't have Lips say that much if anything.

I still think Lips is a cool addition to The Electric Mayhem.

  • coulda fooled me. sounds just like armstrong

  • Me too!

  • Its More Like Kevin Clash would alot better to perform Lips

  • Anyone who can wail like that on trumpet is definitely a good addition.

  • what ever happened to "Nobody here but us Chickens" sketch?

  • I want to know too. Haven't seen it in YEARS.

    ♪ ♫ ♥ Please help us :o)#

  • I saw this on "The Muppet Show" episode 100 featuring special guest star Shirley Bassey.

  • What Muppet Show was this clip from?

  • That was such a catchy little number.I can still remember seeing this on actual TV when I was just a lad....fond memories indeed! It's a great little song to cut the rug with!!!

  • 1:16-1:20

i loved when i was little how Zoot shaked along with the music of his sax

    anyone else?

  • Living music. Like a True Performer. Incredible how much life they put into those puppets. Like New York State Of Mind. Floyd sings it with his worn out voice. And every move he makes and every word he sings sweats out that feeling.

  • Comment removed

  • Well he radiates the feeling of the song, better :o)

  • Comment removed

  • Zoot actually looks good in that costume he wears

    anyone else agreeing?

  • A zoot suit? The hat looks COOL

  • And the hat looks cool on him too.

  • i agree with mikey, bruce did do an excellent job of his version of barnyard boogie...spot on there

  • Comment removed

  • I've never seen this one before! Excellent!

I never heard the trumpet player's nice voice either. :o)# Yes sir I can BOOGIE!

  • "Boo boo!"

"Said the men in the theater box"

    "Don't boogie in the barnyard!"

  • The puppet up in the window with the horn reminds me of the preacher "Dr. Gene Scott" !

  • Best version of this was Bruce Willis on his 'If It don't Kill Ya' album. AND Louis Jordan

    Mikey xx

  • who made the lyrics and the music?

the muppets do alot of covers of other musicians, don't know who made this one.

  • I totally forgot about this one. And Sirius plays this (the Louis Armstrong original) as filler on on their Classic Old Time Radio channel.

  • lol the rooster in the movie "surfs up" looks just like the rooster in this video.

i wonder if the got the idea for him by watching the muppets.... :-)

  • splendid

  • MY GOSH. THIS IS SOO HOT. and beaker is a genius.

  • Just fantastic :D great comment at the end :

Don't boogie in the barnyard :)mhuhahahhaha !

  • Look at that rat dancin' at 65%

  • Was this an actual song or one Henson and co. made up?

  • Sorry for the late reply, but 'Barnyard Boogie' was first written and recorded in 1948 by Louis Jordan & his Tympany Five.

They loved doing the old jazz classics on this show, didn't they? :)

Thanks for the great upload, Koosjebig!

  • Who's playing bass in this skit?

  • Floyd. Floyd Pepper.

  • thats music ...

    "boogie in the barnyard!"

    simlpy nice ...

  • That Can Be On Sesame Street With Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem

  • I love it! perfect!

    also love the muppet show

  • Rotf lmao.Absolutely sensational!!!I love the trumpet man blowing like hell in the upper window with his eyes permanently closed.

  • I think his name is "lips" XD

  • thanks ;)

  • You're right, too.

  • I com from Holland and I have a lot films of the Muppets show... and this sog still be my favourite ;P

  • My favourite Electric Mayhem performance!

  • "Boo! Boo!"

"Said the men in the theater box."

    "Don't boogie in the barnyard!"

    LMAO!!!

  • As a kid, I had no idea that the Muppets were doing all these great, wild songs. What a musical education!

  • BEST Eletric Mayhem song!! and Lips was AWSOME with his solo!!

  • I wish we could hear more of Lips because he has such a great personality with the band!

  • I know. the band sounds better with a trupet player! He shoud be in the band more!

  • It sounds complete with Muppets that have personalities! LOL you can't have a Muppet that never talks! LOL

  • Well go to Muppet wiki, and go to the search box, and type "Lips", and if u read about him, there is a reason about this very rare chracter.

  • i like her les paul, dr teeth seems to much like a pimp

  • boogie!boogie! lol animal rocks

n so do the old guys

boo boo said the men in the theatre box, dont boogie in the barnyard

  • The original "Barnyard Boogie" song was done by the musician Louis Jordan.

Except some changes were made to this song.

One example was "Little White Hen".

In the original, it said "Little red hens".

A certain lyric in the original tells of Aunt Suzy killing a chicken. This was changed in this version.

  • hehe animal is funny when he get caught in the rhytm xD

  • It's a Louis Jordan tune from back in the day. late 30's or early 40's maybe? Jordan did simple tunes but the lyrics were absolutely awesome. Kind of a Cole Porter of early R&B.

  • I wish Lips would sing more. He has an awesome voice.

  • Imagine how funny it would be if the animals were rabid. :)

  • Gaffer is the cat with the eye patch, right?

  • Yes, that's Gaffer. She didn't make many appearances though but she's in the Great Muppet Caper movie.

  • Another Muppet Show appearance that I remember seeing Gaffer in was the one with Rowlf singing the cat came back.

  • That was great. Yeah that is a rare vocal from Lips, I think Steve Whitmire, whom perfomed him, just wasn't sure what voice would be a good fit for him. Dave Golez had that problem with Zoot.

  • Yeah. Zoot was AWSOME back in the 1st season, then after that his voice was rare.

  • According to the muppet wiki, he was going for the Louis Armstrong voice.

  • Correct, but he thought people might take it the wrong way.

  • Great Video!!

    A True Classic!

  • real funny!!!!!!

  • Great song.

I really love Statler & Waldorf's comment at the end.
