There is only one time I will ever pull my wig off.... When I perform the broadway adaptation of "material girl" from Priscilla Queen of the Desert, because he starts the song dressed in drag, and then takes his wig and dress off (but still keeps on his bra, corset, and heels) and sings the rest of the song as a guy.
other than that, i dont think a performer should ever take their wig off, unless, like Misty statedm it's falling off, and the play it off well.
Check out my video look up Sasha phillips toxic vault my wig flew off when I was performing that gig. Lol a girl came up to me after the performance and thanked me. for for going on because her sister had cancer.
I've seen a few times where a queen throws a wig off and it be a perfect moment and fit with the song in my opinion. I've personally never done it but I have had my wig fly off by accident one time. XD
@Msbrittanycass Sometimes it just happens.. And when a performer in my area does Free your mind they rip off their wig and the top half of their costume but it kinds fits the songs... But the crowd goes CRAZY... SOmetimes it just fits.
like omg, im suprised at how many people care if a drag queen pulls off her own wig for shock value....i dont see what the problem is, like seriously who gives a fuck.
I think pulling off your wig, as a general rule, should not be done. Now there's always exceptions to every rule, but (like all rules) if you are going to break this rule, make sure you know how and where to break it, and why you are going to break it.
Knock on wood-I've never lost any of my hair during a show-if I did Id prly cry! That part of the illusion would take away from everything and yeah. My alter ego must have it together. Emotionally and physically. It's part of the art. I'm never Gunna show a true emotion on stage that I would while walking off. It takes away from it all

It used to be a phase in my area that queens would rip off their wig to make the audience go crazy but its pretty much frowned upon these days...

I enjoy your videos. I don't do drag or anything but I respect and love drag queens. Thanks for your channel.

I personally feel like if you are going to take the wig off, then you might as well do the 'bald' look in the first place...
