  • Just a quick question for any history savvy person out there. Wasn't the Monroe Doctrine supposed to keep our pompous US asses out of the eastern part of the world and keep the easterners from our side of the world? Whatever happened to that?

Switching to a video related comment: Rock on with the protest! This war is completely wrong and our troops should not dying for such an unworthy cause!

  • Every day people learn at least one new thing, so here is todays lesson:

Code Pink = Nazi's of the 21st Century

    Have a good day! =)

  • This was a really cool event. I'm glad I participated. I'm surprised the people of Seattle were so supportive. Well most of them, anyway. There were a few assholes.

  • Just a bit of a reminder...this war is being paid for with a "war" credit card. We as a nation have yet to put one red cent toward the cost of this war. It is currently estimated at approx. $40,000 per person (baby to senior) of debt, that doesn't even include the interest as we all know credit always comes with an interest charge.

Along with all the lies told to us remember this one...the profits from Iraq oil revenue will go for reconstruction of Iraq. Anyone see that happening?

  • Good concise video. Thanks.

  • Well for Seattle, its a refuge for retards to begin with. With "no child left behind" this type of behavior is understandible. One certainly hopes they get a better education and can point to seattle on a map.

  • Gee, you sure have a way with words yourself there bucko. Oh, and it's spelled "understandable".

Please remember this is what Democracy looks like. Americans exercising their first amendment right, which is part of our Constitution the great document that sets our republic apart from all other countries. It isn't the soldiers that are being protested here it is the illegal pre-emptive war of aggression waged by this administration using our military for their greed.

  • I was not for invading Iraq. But now that we are there and winning, it is very important to see it through. Part of the reason for 9/11 and the large insurgency in Iraq was due to the view from the mideast that Americans are cowards and will not stay to fight, as demonsrated by our leaving Vietnam at a point when we were winning. If this happens again, you will not see a return to the good old days. You will see ever increasing violence against the US until our downfall.

  • Sorry, I just cannot agree with "winning", oh yeah now I recall in May of 2003 our pResident declared "mission accomplished" and whatever has been happening in Iraq since then has been quite the victory, especially for the Iraq people, never mind the over 3,800 dead US service members and countless disabled veterans that this administration isn't giving two hoots about.

  • Disagree. You don't like "Bush" and the administration. Fine. I really am not very interested in them as most politicians are trailer trash to begin with. But I do follow what is happening in Iraq and how the war is going. And yes, by every marker that can be established on the battlefield they are winning. I do believe after many visits and invitations to run with the President, that he is sensitive to thier cause plight. The same with Rumsfeld before he left.

  • We might have lost another 58 thousand had we stayed in Vietnam for another 10 -12 years and kept communism from taking over the area.

No one has a crystal ball as to what the future of this world is, however, if we continue to act like the back yard bully intimidating and attacking sovereign countries, then logic dictates that the bully will eventually be ganged up on by others.

We need strength at home, here in our beloved USA. We are a nation divided.

  • If we kept fighting the war in Vietnam the way we were fighting it you would probobly be correct. If you talk to those who support the insurgents in any great number, you will hear the Vietnam loss and the Americans unwillingness to fight come up again and again. It is a slippery slope once you start to fall. It is a dangerous path to allow a loss to happen when we are winning.

  • We were lied into yet another war. How can there be a win when it is all based on a lie? In Iraq there were no WMD's, no connection to the 911 atrocity, no nuclear arms. Our weapons inspectors were doing their job quite well when the pResident decided to pull them out and conspire with the corporate military industrial complex and lie us into yet another war.

  • Poor intelligence yes, yet every investigation indicates it was bad intelligence and not lies. Every congressman/women had the same intelligence as the president, and many appeared on television to tell us it was a threat. We still shouldn't have invaded but our congress gave the OK. What should we do now? Prop up Sadams dead body and put him back in charge? You can't uno whats already been done, only make the best of it.

  • Yes, and while we are at it, why not lie or as you say "intel" us into Iran? Please, the war and the lies to get us into it were planned long before it was waged. Read the Downing Street Memo.

  • Please don't change the subject. Iran is not the issue ,Iraq is. Do you want to stop war or get your favorite party elected? You sound like a politician.

  • It is sad that you don't see this administration poised to attack Iran. I am against war. Period. It should be the very last choice, certainly not done to "pre-empt" an attack! What did Iraq do to us? What is Iran doing right now to us? Neither has nor is doing anything. I take a good lesson from what this administration had done to engage US in Iraq and now see them replaying their game with Iran.

  • Like I said, you are a politician trying to get your candidate elected. If you were "anti war" you would be for eliminating all those who voted for this war. You don't like republicans only, it would appear, and are voting democrat. But you are not anti war, only anti republican.

  • Follow the money, who is profiting? Where is the accounting for the thousands of "missing" dollars, and how about those "missing" weapons? Again, who is profiting from the blood of our soldiers in a war that never should have been waged? What about the justice for those who lost loved ones on 911, where is bin forgotten? We focused on Iraq and let the perpetrator of that atrocity disappear. Say what you will about it, we folded on that one and who cares?

  • I believe if we bar every congressman/woman who voted for this war to be allowed to finish thier term and never be allowed to hold public office again it would set a precident for future leaders to think, before they count votes. I care.

  • I recall a lot of the supposed "intelligence" was "national security" and not every congress person was included in ALL the supposed intel prior to waging war. When the VP didn't get the intel he liked, he set up his own investigative team to churn up justification for war. At this point, for the good of our country, and for the moral stand we should be setting for the rest of the world, the only honorable thing to do is to admit we were duped by our lowdown government and get out of Iraq.

  • Sorry. I thought you were anti war. You're just another politician wanting to get thier candidate elected. Have a nice day.

  • This discussion must have gotten the better of you. Sorry if it disturbs you to hear some truth. I am not a politician, nor do I work for a candidate. I wish I could have a "nice day", but I am seeking to preserve the Constitution and Bill of Rights and to have both respected by all who would serve this country.

  • I don't believe you.

  • Certainly those grieving over their loss on 911. This government slapped them right in the face with their misleading intel and invasion into the absolutely wrong country.

  • This government includes all the slime that told us we needed to do it. Republican as well as Democrat. Fighting a war based on hindsite is a crime perpetuated on our military. They have gone ahead with Congressmen/women stabbing them in the back, and won the war. Just so they could get thier party elected. Stop the wars before they start, not after they have been won. Prohibit all of them from ever running again.
