Creating games.. Its far harder to make them playble and wanting to play it a second time only by doing custom maps you can come to conslusion If you suck at doing this or you are good at something and not letting the player down.I remember old days eg.my brother was angry when people made worm" clones to C64 when he did 1 emulator"And years later there was a actual guy that thought he had coyrights..to what really -something 10 000 of beginners do as easiest "game". miu, that would be a good start, but i think that everyone should learn either C++ or C# after that. (Do NOT learn C, it has alot of bad habits, which can make it harder to learn other languages!) because they give you the most control.

C# is horrible compared to C. I know both languages, and I've tinkered with C++ too. Both C++ and C# are far more INCONSISTENT than ISO C (which makes them harder to learn). C is also very closely related to Assembly, which makes software you write in ANY language more efficient. Don't listen to this douche.

You continue to create games because you are passionate about it and love to be as god and create, our economic system does not reward creative people. You can have all the skillz in the world, the problem is, players suck ass. They don't donate to support your server, they don't buy your game (they pirate it), and they bitch holy hell with ultimate resitance to spend even a dime to supoort your game. I have a heavily modded 2142 demo server that rocks, runs 24/7, and has 500 players come through it every month. Over 6 months, I've only got $60 in donations, and its cost me thousands of hours of work and its cost me $240 so far for servers

No, Alice is not better, faszika, but anyone with half a brain would realize that it would be pointless to attempt to sell a half-life mod, which is what you'd be doing.

However, any serious game developer uses either an advanced engine so they can focus more on features, or make their own engine in C++ and DirectX.
