Really, most harm from drug use is imposed on society by societal regulations. Catch a middle class heroin mainliner who can afford his or her habit. They get their fix, they're functional people, or beyond functional. I'd much rather have addicts with access that fund road construction and schools than addicts who rob in order to get their fix which funds cartels, no matter the drug. Heroin analogues are more prescribed than any other illegal drug analogue, and they're powerful antidepressants.

@MCDCBPAUX Besides neurotoxic drugs, like amphetamines, which are prescribed anyway, and the form of cocaine known as crack, which, because it is smoked, and because of the short nature of a cocaine high, does lead to near immediate psychological addiction, yes, psychoactive substances should be legalised. Seems like an American right to perk up your day with whatever suits you. Weed isn't physically addicting, and opiates, provided access, aren't dangerous to a tolerant person's body.
