This version wasn't recorded to be listened to but seen. The mannerisms L.A. was known for take up some of the time. Notice how the song slows way down. It's the banter and improvisation that is the humor here and the song takes it's tempo from the spoken parts.

I love Louis Armstrong. But this effort bombed.

A rendition of this charming give-and-take needs to play off of the playful romantic tension of the couple in question. The lyrics and arrangement are brilliant. But by slowing the tempo, the romantic energy dissapates and it comes off flat. Even the great Sachmo can't pull off BICO at this sleepy pace.
