  • You should put ***SPOILER ALERT*** in the description, since you are showing the END of the movie here. Not that it's a problem for me, I've seen this movie like 10 times :D

  • are you ready to meet JESUS??.....1-800-78grace or 1-210-491-5100!!

  • "Speaking of horses..." Hahhahahaha!!!!!!!

  • u shot me in the ass.

  • This is one of the all time great movies of the past 30 years, that really doesn't get the recognition that it deserves. The last 30 minutes of this movie are some of the most dramatic, intense scenes you'll ever see.

Easily one of my all time favorite movies.

  • @finisher3x It is awesome.

  • If Im wrong then we're at war , God help us all ....epic movie loved it .

  • The worst thing you can do to a bully, stand your ground and smile at his stupidity...

  • Lipizzaner stalions are from Slovenia not from Spain. just for .nfo

  • @gregorobi I didn't know that... but they are from Portugal.

  • Would'nt you have thought that GH would of apoligiced to DW for punching him in the face twice and telling him to shut the fuck up?

  • @mjrk394

I don't think he's that type of person, he believed he was doing the right thing.

  • Another film to make the negroid persuasion look good. Ridiculous

  • @Deltastrike81 just look at South Africa. oh lol, negros.

  • @Deltastrike81 and Tw4tz0r <--- obvioulsy racists lets give them a round of a applause and a kick in the ass. you lousy Gits.

  • @Deltastrike81 You are a racist and staggeringly ignorant of history, to boot. If you took even five minutes to peruse the history of colonial oppression and subversion in African affairs, you wouldn't bother to open your silly trap with such inanities.

  • This scene made me laugh because those punks just got eggs thrown at their faces when they heard about the EAM

  • @bber45 good one

  • Damn where is the Silver Surfer when you need him?

  • In both Crimson Tide and True Romance, James Gandolfini smiles at the mere thought of hurting someone.

  • @lharrod QUENTIN TARANTINO Impact ! (uncredited/minor screenplay for Crimson Tide) !

  • 5:40

that awkward moment when you have to force a smile and pretend like you didnt just help someone almost blow up the planet

  • Captain Ramsey realized that he is no longer a capable military commander. He nearly started a nuclear war by deciding to launch nuclear missiles without proper authorization. Hunter is correct in his decision to defy his orders and tries to get the complete second message. Ramsey reliefs himselves of command and heads to his quarters.

  • Westergard and Zimmer appear together on NCIS too :D

  • One day the black and white horses will gallop together

  • Crazy Russians and their AKMs.

  • Crazy Americans and their M16s.

  • is 2:38-2:56 racists or am i misinterpeting?

  • @Mikex87 No racist coment there.. they are just continuing their aguments about horses (as previously seen in other scenes of the movie).. and the scene continues in the last dialog line from the movie where Ramsey concedes to Hunter that they are from Spain

  • @sparrowlt are you dumb? it was supposed to be racist

  • @HPhenomenal Probably im dumb.... but i still think it wasnt racist meant

  • This is order and a fine example of naval officers, who maintained control despite the circumstances.

  • @19Truth53

Yeah, it have been so much cooler if the captain had his way and started World War III for nothing. Nuclear war is just SO anti-liberal...

  • This was a bullshit scene stuck in by LIBERALS and the scene had NOTHING to do with the movie and was COMPLETELY uncalled for and unnecessary to the story line.

  • @19Truth53 What? It's a movie. You're reading into this too far good sir.

  • I bet a captain cant smoke in the sub anymore like they useto.

  • /watch?v=sJ2TGebicGY THUMBS UP FOR EXPOSURE!

  • What a man, if Gene hackman was staring and yelling at me like that, I wouldd've broken down and started crying lol.

  • @Ladiesman1447 That's why you're not in the armed forces, pansy.

  • @icewatercube the one thing you learn in the millitary is that you never strike a higher ranking officer

  • 臨時に副長代理に任命されたジマ―は糞野郎だ!

  • as a sailor currently serving on board the uss alabama i hereby say that submarine life is not this dramatic haha

  • @CKYer101

C'mon, now! Talking about the Navy!

  • Fuck the hollywood race bullshit. Its just two men disagreing

  • i love the music near the end hans zimmer rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "speaking of horses".....??????where the hell did he get that from

  • @dnewhomeboy45 watch the movie

  • @dnewhomeboy45 It is from earlier in the movie

  • @dnewhomeboy45 from the beginning of the movie if you would pay attention. hackman asks him at the beginning what does he like to do, and he answers he likes to ride horses...........

  • The way Gene says "lippensotter stallions" is cool!

  • the nervous radio kid is played by the same "kid" that played Robert Deniro's Son in "A Bronx Tale". i'm a musician. once, around 2001, a band i was working in was playing the Alladin in Las Vegas. on a break sitting at a table near the stage, a group of guys walked in. sat down a couple tables over. it was "this kid" right here in the movie. i tried to subtely motion to my fellow bandmates, "hey, that's the dude from Bronx Tale!". Lol! hopefully, i didn't become a goofball

  • @drumdude46 hes also an accmplice in a cop killing

  • @fdny9682 Really? what is the name of the Actor? do tell.........

never heard that before? was it recent?

  • @drumdude46 lilo brancato. NYPD cop shot few years back

  • @stringerboi Couldn't agree More Sir/Mam! Very Good analogy

  • Two Tough Guys Denzel and Gene

    Cool both of them

    Hardened

  • Great movie, glad I have it in my collection. It's billed as an action movie, but really it's more of a thinking exercise. Neither one of these two was right, and neither was wrong. There is no bad guy, just different ways of looking at a very serious situation with world ending repercussions......impressive acting from everyone in this movie.

  • I like the horsey bit--does it mean some ppl are born to follow orders while others are born to question? Hackman maybe a SOB in this movie but he did played a great role in Uncommon Valor--his speech about the government not taking responsible action to get MIAs out of Vietnam after the war and reasoned why his character and Robert Stack's character undertook the initiative to save their own sons was really touching. A great action pack war flick also starred the late P. Swayze, and Fred Ward.

  • Captain: "God help you if you're wrong."

Hunter: "If I'm wrong we're at war... God help us all."

  • Was the horse thing suppose to GH being subliminally racist?

  • @billywitchdoctor100 Yeah, I think so. When I saw this in the theater when it came out everyone did a "ooooohh"

  • @billywitchdoctor100 Possibly.

  • love how the idiots interpret this scene as a racial undertone. Its not a battle between black and white, its a battle between old school and new school. Aggression Vs Patience, Soldier vs. Academic

  • I can watch this movie million times,I can live in it for ever!!!

  • The best part of this movie is how Gene Hackman excepts defeat in the end. Classy move by a man who was sure he was right but willing to except he was wrong.

  • :23 Blacks have skulls harder than diamonds, go for the gut next time Gene if you want to take one down!!!

  • @sapher2020 I've knocked out black people in boxing by hitting them in the head so I doubt your opinion.

  • @bantermelon Do you have video? I could come on here and say I have 12 inch claws popping out of my hands, but thet doesn't make it true.

  • love this film so much!!! it gracefully finds a place in my top 10!!!

  • during those 3 minutes, was the talk about the horses a racial pride thing?

  • @whatsgoingon07 I don't think so. I think the commander was testing the Executive officers knowledge of things unrelated to the Navy. It was a good moment to ask because it was kind of a 3 minute of window of nothing else to do. But I don't think the captain expected DW's answer, he underestimates his ability.

  • It's less important that they were both "wrong" to me. The challenge to the screenwriter was that they were both right.

  • Can you post the very ending scene where GH admits defeat and sorta apologizes.

  • In this film denzel washington gets told to shut the f**k up and gets punched in the face twice by gene hackman

  • Do they allow smoking in subs, isn't it a fire hazard ?

  • The funny thing is Lipizzaner stallions are neither from Portugal nor Spain. They stem from Slovenia. Hollywood always fucks up historical facts.

  • @dandyjesus ..Ever consider the fact that they both could have been wrong..and thats how the writers wanted it do be?

  • @WiseGuy5674 I consider it now. What is your suggestion then why the writers didn't want to get the facts right?

  • @dandyjesus ..The both absolutely thought they were correct about which direction to take this crisis, and were told that by their commander....but they were both wrong about the horse...right to the end.

  • @dandyjesus

    Excuse me, my friend...

The lipizzaner stallions, as the Spaniard-Norman, the mustangs, the aztecs, the frisions, etc, has blood of the Spanish horses (the Andalusians), there they have its genetics, so you don't say foolishness on that the lippizaners are from Eslovenia. Nor of far, my friend. Nor of far

  • I wished the teaser trailer was on youtube. anyone remember the teaser for this great film? It was classic!

  • Aragorn is relieved. Tony Soprano, not so much.

  • 0:05 a Navy Captain would NEVER publically hit a fellow crew member, they may do it in private, but never infront of the rest of the crew.

  • @LordMalice6d9 ..You don't know would happen if a captain and XO of a sub were put in this position. This is why at the end of the movie, they answer for the situation in Washington..and the captain gracefully retires.

  • @LordMalice6d9 I take it you haven't seen the actual movie as there is a fullblown mutiny in progress between the CO and XO... When you've already showed a 12 gauge in the face of crewmembers, striking one seems kind of mild in comparison...

  • Lillo Brancato Jr., who played Russell Voslar, was the best in this movie. Even though we don't get to see him a lot, Lillo's character was very important. It was great to see him be a part of this classic, intense, suspense thriller.

  • SCOTTY I NEED MORE WARP SPEED!!!

  • @bruinsfleetcommander : Yes!! ;])

  • you were right about the horses....they are from Spain....best "neutral" ending to a movie ever. No matter who u rooted for, they ended it as gentlemen.

  • Vosler is the man!!

  • !los sementales lipizanos son de España... no de Portugal!

  • The only thing controlling the launch of nuclear missles is the permission--or refusal--of the president to the captain, to do so. The captain, of course, knows the codes and the location(s) of those codes. That's WHY he's the captain. Movies are movies, and reality is reality. God bless the American Navy, and the people who serve in it.

  • that man had control over the destruction of the world ... god bless America from the UK

  • This movie had me biting my nails most of the time.

  • i guess all are men..... lol...

  • No, Tony Soprano with the gun is the Man....

  • @sandtrooper13 lol....

  • The entire movie is beyond intense. One of the best of all time...

  • gene hackman is the man

  • Probably this movie was all about one thing, to think twice, to use your mind and your heart before making any decision that invloves the lives of others, and to know that you're not the only one in the universe, and that there are others in this world who may forever suffer the consequences of a one bad decision that you once made just because you thought that it's not your fault...

  • The dog got excited too.

  • @ojideagu LOL, your comment is on point. You have to realize the fact, that Hackman is an old naval dude, with too many years under his metals. The last thing he needs, with all of his accomplishments, is a young snot, questioning his judgement. "Right or Wrong", you don't question your superiors, was how Hackman saw things. Denzel tried not to over step, his bounds. He proceeded, with his advice cautiously, but in the end, had to act on better judgement, which cost him a slap in the face. lol

  • @METrades Damn I missed your reply 2 months ago lol yeh you are exactly right. That's when people in power fuck up, they can't see the wood for the tree's because of their authority.

  • i don't see them pretendig to change thechip in their mobilesince before i left to australia and remember the don't use western passports axelle_rose

  • still leaving black things for me, what could not find a leaf....don't worry when i leave in december i will find everything in black to leave them....oh sorry unless there is a you know what.....may the best man win axelle_rose

  • Holy crap!!! Denzel @ 1:22 looks EXACTLY like a guy who just got punched in the face who could, YET! Won't do anything about it because he's trying as hard as f-ing possible to be the "stronger man"! I've seen that before! Prestine Acting, beyond belief!!! Wow!!!

  • *The Captain: God help you, if you're wrong. *The Ex O (Denzel): If I'm wrong then we're at war; God help us all.

  • @METrades What amazes me is Gene Hackman would rather be right and have a Nuclear war that would wipe out a large chunk of mankind then be wrong. How the fuck could you be dissapointed that you don't have to fire? I'd be doing a fucking Irish Jig. That's what you call an EGO beyond belief.

  • Ojideagu , I know your comment is 2 months old, but you bring up a good point. It IS ego. The captain came from a time where officers followed orders and didn't ask questions, and he says as much in the dinner scene talking about (Adm) Rickover and his first command.

  • @Haywerth Yeh no problem! This even happens with Surgeons. A surgeon recently took out the wrong kidney and killed a man. But surgeons are so arrogant that his staff and assistant surgeons were too scared to tell him at the time that he was taking out the wrong kidney, even the knowledge that it would kill the man was not enough to make them speak up and tell him he was wrong.

  • @ojideagu : Ever see the t.v. show, "Lost"? They dig into that subject regarding Jack's dad.

  • @Haywerth,

It's like Jason Robards said at the Board of Inquiry - "Insofar as the letter of the law is concerned, you were BOTH RIGHT. And, you were also BOTH WRONG!"

  • *The Captain: God help you, if you're wrong. *The Ex O (Denzel): If I'm wrong then we're at war; God help us all.

  • If gunfire ended up going off on that bridge there would have been serious problems for that submarine and the men aboard it.

  • tony soprano is very dissappointed he's chosen the wrong side, ha!

  • @RhinierZ Wesley snipes said that on passenger 57 hehe

  • I Dont know Whats Happening in this Scene can somebody fill me in

  • @SSJSasuke777 In a previous scene, while GH attempted to launch nuclear missles, DW removed a necessary firing key preventing nuclear missles from launching. Since GH is the Captain and DW is the Exec Officer the two cannot work without the other. The radio being inoperative, the EAM being incomplete, it allows the audience to review the ethics of following orders under chain of command, ethics of launching nuclear weapons under false assumptions, and dealing with underlying biased views.

  • Well Yeah I Know That Denzel Took the Key and hackmen wants it back bcause hes a commanding Officer and denzel has to do whats right but Why Were they willing to launch the missiles in the first place what action did the russians do

  • @bj916 There was no false assumptions here. THey had authenticated orders in hand

  • @bj916 DW gets told to shut the fuck up and gets punched in the face twice by GH in this film

  • @bj916 very brief, but to the point, funny how youtube puts constraints on its users through its 500 character limit to any response. kinda sucks if you have lots and lots to say.

  • @SSJSasuke777 fuk off

  • @OmarPeruXXX Fuck You Asshole

  • @SSJSasuke777 watch the movie! satisfaction guaranteed ;)

  • @wavelength420 Yesh I Already Seen It It Was Alright

  • I've never seen a better movie.

  • AWESOM MOMENTS!!!!

    Denzel Washington.. u r the man !!

    thanks abt that wonderful scene..

  • Great movie. So, was smoking ever really allowed in a submerged US Naval submarine?

  • Denzel is the man!

  • @QuelDr0ma Hackman is.

  • bj916, Thank you for this clip! I read your info and agree with you totally. This is one of my favorite movies. 5 stars!!! :D

  • Favourite scene, but they are both wrong, lipizzan are from Slovenia

  • What do you mean by the "symbolic figure" that must suffer?

  • Perfect movie, Excelent actors, and wondeful theme

music.I love this movie and whenever coming across, I watch it.

  • @jeurome1 i agree with u totally.. that was what i was gonna say..
