@lipstickjungle2803 No, it wouldn't have been 1939. It would have been after the Normandy Invasion so it was probably 1944-1945. Is that your collection in the video?

My Dad had the honor of riding her back from the Normandy Invasion to the United States at the close of W.W. II.

Ile De France was the Titanic for GCT. Ile De France had prior to World War II had a half open Promenade Deck. The interiors are Chic. The first Art Deco Ocean Liner.

Sadly her original grand interiors were toned down during a re-decorating in the mid-1930s and again after the World War II.

I love Ile De France, among other Liners that I love. She's very chic. I would sailed on her anywhere. absolutely gorgeous.

This was one of the greatest liners, there was and never will be another one like it. it is always good to see photos of the bygone ocean liners
