any aussies remember the drummer here. it is colin petersen.some of us older folk will remember him as smiley from the smiley movies made late 50's i think
After walking the streets of New York in the area known as Ground Zero on 9/18/01 this song came to mind. As I walked I noticed that my pants and shoes were covered with dust, it was then that I realized that I was covered with the incinerated hearts and souls of those lost on 9/11. God Bless America and the Bee Gees.
New York Mining Disaster 1941 - Bee Gees [Brisbane, Queensland, Australia] - No.14 on 6/10/1967. 4 weeks Top 40. - "AMG Pick. This song, the first international chart hit for the Bee Gees, has been accused of imitating the Beatles but a close listen reveals that it has a style all its own despite surface similarities." - The Studio Albums 1967-1968 [Box Set] (Reprise) - Bee Gees' 1st [Disc 1]-2006.
Couldn't help but think of this song today right after the Chilean miners were rescued. A real gem by the Bee Gees, and I always loved how they ended it. Great clip, thanks for sharing.
love the backround behind them

@FunhouseJr Well Robin Gibb is 1,000 times more talented than you, and you can just enjoy the music instead of criticizing the musicians.

This is a treasure, OMG !!!!!, The very first hit in America and in U.K by one of the greatest bands all time: the Bee Gees.
The song made it the # 14 on the Billboard Charts and the # 12 in the U.K list in 1967.
Thank you RHINO for posting this treasure in H.Q.
