@daviddara333... Even old strats still had a nitro finish, woulda taken more than a few days outdoors. I checked on it, but can't for the life of me remember what his condition was called. :)
I've heard that Rory had a rare blood condition that made his sweat highly acidic, thus contributing to his strat's "no-burst" finish. If anyone can confirm or deny this, i'd live to hear from you!
@screenpuller haha ar ye serios? and i taught it was because it was thrown in a bush for a few days which destroed the paint job and then further wear from playing it?
Beautifully done! I'm new to Rory Gallagher. I bought the Ghost Blues dvd & was completely blown away! I cannot believe I slept on this guitar slinger for all these years. I used to read about him in magazines as a teen but never got around to buying his records. Silly me, indeed. He's truly amazing! Crazy how a lot of the greats die so young. I'm loading up on all Rory swag I can find.
congratulations on the production of a wonderful documentary and loyal to the spirit of Rory Gallagher. Barry looks brilliant in this :-) I've seen sinnerboy a few times now and they make Rory proud I'm sure..... Well done... R.I.P Rory, never forgotten x

I missed seeing him. What a terrible shame, my mother was a blues player on many instruments as well... but living in the USA, and having few chances to see him as well as no real information about him here.. It's also my fault; due to ah, "recreational substances" I can hardly remember the mid '70s through the '80s so it was all a wash for me. THEN I find him on You Tube. Heartbreaking, as his music is the best!! How did Rolling Stone mag miss listing him in their 100 greatest guitarists??!
I saw him several times in Belfast, was at the '84 'Rory at Midnight' gig. I really enjoyed this 'Documentary Short' got the hairs standing up on the back of my neck with Rory nostalgia. We miss him because we loved him and the music he was...
Big Barry said it," an absolute genious",I saw Rory 13 times (6 with Taste),the greatest guitarist I'll ever see,Thanks for this 3 part documentary Matt, just fantastic!! 1,000,000*
Was just watching Shadow Play from Belfast 1984 for probably the 25th time (absolutely brilliant) when I came across this. Really excellent film and took me back to the live performances I was lucky enough to witness in Sheffield and Leicester in the early seventies. I was at a party when I heard he had died - I was devastated and went straight home. The man has no equal in my view. Great film, many thanks.
he was so beautiful
