"I don't even think of him that way. He's old" That is the typical smart-assed remark from a young whipper snapper who thinks she knows it all just because she is fresh out of college. What she does not understand is that time will go by, and then it'll be her turn to be called "old" by another smart-mouth who thinks, she, too, knows it all.
Whether the older and often wiser folks around the younger ones ever graduated college or not, and it matters not, their experience speaks for itself.
@sandinyourshoes Well, I've been attracted to men far older than Clooney since my hormones started pumping, so the perception of 'old' at least isn't universal.
@sandinyourshoes I agree with both statements. Actually, I was faced with a condescending sales-associate today and I thought of your comment, the whipper snapper thing made me laugh, but it's totally true. I was purchasing a blank DVD and she tried to sell me a flash drive, saying 'ummm . . .who uses those things anymore?' In the end my program did require one. There are so many girls in the world who are caricatures of the character Kendrick is in this film, it's hilarious.
@WorkaholicsAnon, I grew up the old-fashioned way. Mama taught me to respect my elders, and she was so firm with me when I was sassy with her. However, she helped me to understand how older people have so much wisdom to share with all of us. They should be treated as highly-valuable resources. Sadly, I never got to grow up with my grandparents. They were too far away.
It is funny that your experience today was with someone similar to Natalie (Kendrick) from the film!
I just did a commercial and the make-up artist that did the make-up for it did Up In The Air!!! Hahaha, she lives right in my town. She said Anna and George were REALLY nice. :)
The ending was just... wow. It would make you feel really really really DEPRESSED after watching it.
I feel really bad for Clooney's character. He doesn't get the happy ending. But I think that's what makes the movie amazing. It's realistic and honest. But this movie was just sooo sad.
This looks great and I wish it would hurry up and come out at a cinema near me. In some parts of this George's character reminds me of Dr.House, I dunno why, maybe its the voice?
This movie is about Clooney's job; he flys around to different cities to fire people for companies ( he is a hired ax-man). His side job is as a "motivational speaker". Clooney's character lives to stay on the road, avoid commitments, and accumulate frequent flyer miles and perks. The big picture is that getting FIRED is the secret BOMB that exists for all Americans who are trying to live the American dream:( get married, work hard, make money, be happy). The American dream has become a FRAUD
what are the 2nd and 3rd songs please?

@WorkaholicsAnon, the older fellow usually is more stable, anyway. Younger folks do not rule the world, anyway.

It's not boring at all. It's actually exhilarating, puts the audience in a ride of self discovery and truth.

I remember at the end of this, the person I was watching it with was like "How DEPRESSING." Lol.
I really liked it though. Life doesn't always have a happy ending and this movie is just a beautiful example of that.
