  • I learned Samson and The Flowers in one day! You can't read and write without learning the alphabet...I don't understand all the negative comments. If you already know it you can just skip through it... not too hard to do. Anyway, I love everything about your videos and the theory helped out a bunch :) Thank you

  • you sing well along with your playing

  • jazzie mine's right i was about to comment that. :)

  • wow thanks others thought ur talkin too much but i think that was helpful.. im not a begginer tho

  • I don't get this.. :/ I wrote down the 1 - 6 chords, but still, this is kinda confusing.. :/

  • ewwwww your voice sounds like a creepy lamb

  • your very helpful but i wish you could have slowed down a little and maybe explained more in the first video more of the left hand. but i really loved the way you played it. thanks.

  • it's like people are complaining about someone throwing money into their faces. you probably can't find a better tutorial than this one. thank you so much!

it shouldn't surprise me people keep complaining, yet it does..

  • Could you anchor the camera like it was in part one? Its just a lot easier to see the note you're playing :D

Thanks very much, i love your voice. xxx

  • so, i understand you want to teach everybody all this shit about music , but i don't give a fuck. all i wanted to do was learn how to play the god damn song not get a fucking music theory lesson. next time JUST use the god damn notes . kthxbai.

  • You rock.

  • Really good tutorial, you're a good teacher although I think you talk a bit too much, you're making things far mor easy than they have to be for us to understand. That's good, in one way, but it feels like you're repeating yourself over and over again :)

Anyways I was just going to ask you about the "Your-hair-was-long-when-we-first-met"-part. Which tabs are you left hand playing?

Your voice is great by the way!

  • your incredible.

  • NO WAYY HE IS GONNA MARRY ME . !! YOU ARE SOO HOT

  • Sweetheart, you just talk too damn much. But you're so pretty I'll forgive you this time.

  • yeah you can play well, but really - I think it would be easier to understand if you just stated the chords and told us notes that the left hand needed to play instead of over-complicating the whole thing. Do we really need to know what Regina Spektor doesn't play?

  • this is what i call a PIANO TUTORIAL....THANKS MAN

  • I think If I actually knew the scale it'd be easier... i should hve taken piano lessons since I own a keyboard. but good job, amazing voice btw.

  • I feel like you're making this more confusing than it has to be. But it works regardless... i'm just sayin.

  • thank you (:

  • this was so helpful, thanks!

  • i'm really effing confused...

  • I was really confused and I watched the 1st video and wrote all the chords down too.. D:

What order do we play the chords in on the right hand, it starts off

    1 chord 2 chord then the D# F# and B Chord right?

Then I didn't catch the chords after that until you got to the:

    4 chord 5 Chord 6 chord 5 chord part.

And I didn't catch the left hand at all.

I'm not a piano player so I guess it's just more difficult for me..

  • shit you can sing too???

    marry me?

  • god damn it you talk wayyyyy too much.

  • boy am I glad you can actually sing really good too :D Thank you!

  • Thanks a bunch for this :)

  • i liked your tutorial on "US" by regina spektor the best its wayyyy more simple

  • thats because "us" is ALOT easier then samson.

  • if it makes you feel any better, your hands don't gross me out. :]

  • i liked the angle from video one better. it was easier to see. just thought you might like to know :)

  • ok so this is confusing and difficult!

you cant see the notes you're playing and it's difficult to follow what you're saying when you keep adding random comments in!

  • Did you watch part 1 beforehand? All the terminology is in there. All the chord progressions are set out in the first video. You'll get the hang of it in no time at all. :D

  • ok, thanks :)

  • Could you produce a lesson like this?

  • they're just hands...?? wtf xD

  • shit dude your voice is insane

    thanks for this really helped!

  • This is actually very close to the sheet music, but you shifted a lot of the notes up to the right hand. You should pick the sheets up if you haven't already. It's very easy the way she plays it, I think this is actually a little more complex. I'm not great at piano and I've mastered it now. (You can find some of my crappy practice music on my channel).

  • You're amazing. That's all.

  • this is amazing

    and omg

    your voice

  • omg, you have such a pretty voice, i can't get over it!! you should really be famous!

  • you have a pretty vioce. *.*

have you ever considered a career in voice acting??

  • my keyboard sucks, so it sounds like crap :/

  • he isnt going too fast, you just don't understand the basics of simple music theory!

do yourself a favor and get some music lessons if you think he is going "too fast"

  • i agree hes actually going rather slow

  • I find this a bit confusing :(

  • I dont understand :(

  • kayy so yurr freaking gorgeous. andd you have the freaking voice of an angel? whyy are youu not famouss? wow.(:

  • this is good. it's nice to see someone who actually knows a thing or two about theory.

  • ahhhh so fast! and its hard to see =( I tried pausing a million times but it was too much info at once

  • im having a hard time on this but thanks for the video.. ill try to do it

  • this is very helpful but very long...

  • ur cool, very helpful.

  • Honestly, Im sure this song isnt that elaborate to make more than a two part tutorial.

I definitely think this is way to technical for someone who plays by ear, like I do.

  • this makes you sound kind of full of yourself.

if you play by ear, would you only click on a link to a tutorial like this one to show off?

    if so - well done.

  • Wow, thanks to your instructions, now I can play it and sing the song at the same time... and make it my own too. Thanks.

  • you could use a better angle

  • cant you just use notations like C 3 or B 4?

  • Oooooo I was watching your videos in sequence to maybe learn to play, at first on part 1 i was mesmorized by your beautiful eyes, but LO! now it's your voice...

Can we get a video of no explanations but just you playing, and singing??

    Youre beautiful =)

Thanks for taking time to teach anyone wanting to learn, it's sweet!

  • this video is great thanks a lot thanks!.

  • its ALMOST like canon in reverse...

  • Oi if some of your people out here are gonna complain shut your mouths and go learn some piano before ATTEMPTING TO LEARN SONGS FROM SCRATCH! look it all up on wikipedia or something close. Be Nice :l this guy is explaining it much better then varous other videos i have seen

  • I was just wondering

I don't really take lessons on piano

But I can play rather well

So before I even attempt playing

Will I actually be able to?

    (: xoxo

  • Yes.

  • =[ i cant do it.. piano is so harddddd!

  • ahhhhhh, that makes SO MUCH SENSE! thanks, yo. i really appreciate the way you taught that. and i'm super-excited that i can play it now!

  • i dont understand the numbers i need to know the name of the keys.

  • shut up!

  • Thanks so much! i'd have taken much longer to learn this if it wasn't for this video... you've got a great voice and a knack for teaching. =) thanks again!

  • wtf is up with sgtpumkin123's comment?

i thought this video was real helpful

  • I'd actually like to hear it without the singing (or significantly louder than the singing) to get the rhythms down, then with the singing to figure out where words fall in relation to your fingers.

  • Too much talking, too little showing

  • ehh. to all of you music-illiterates out there, if you're going to try and learn piano, you should AT LEAST know basic music terminology. this song actually gets more complicated than some of her others and he's making the video so that EVERYONE can understand it. if you're not going to take your time to learn basic theory, don't even try to play piano anymore. because you'll fail.

  • I don´t know if this lesson is prior to the "flowers"-lesson or not, but in that lesson I can se clearly what you´re doing... Witch helps me alot when I can´t follow your train of thought with all the "play the 4-chord with a variaton of the major chord using E, blah blah blah etc...". It´s realy confusing... It helps to have a clear view of what´s going on. (And you kind of mess it upp a bit with all this "numbers and notes"-spree you´re on) ^^'

  • Thats pretty cool dude, bit advance for me yet tho :P

  • We need a bit of positive feed back here :)

I thought it was a really helpful and you have a lovely voice. Thanks very much!

  • you play and sing beautifully. You should try and make the sheet music ;)

  • shut up.

  • i really like the vid, i hate those that use numbers and i would much rather hear about the chords and scales

  • thanksSszsz

    be nice! jr

  • thanks for posting but seeing as were all on here using a video to try and learn this song rather than sheet music maybe just slow down and simplify it all a bit

  • ive played for 7 years and this confusing. im sorry, slow down and describe more.

  • i got kind of confused. you should slow it down a lot. i was wondering if you could possibly make a video showing how to play musicbox by regina spektor?? it would be great if you could(:

  • thnx. kinda confusing, but helpfull.

u have a great voice by the way

    :)

  • your voice is great... are you classically or jazz trained?

  • This is SO confusing.

  • This is incredibly helpful but as said before please repost a slower version of this video because you are losing me.

Also if you could put the variations of the chords into part 1 and actually what you play in part one as well (explanation)but i will keep trying anyway to learn this as it is one of my favorites and it would be fantastic to be able to play it

    That would be fantastic

  • What the hell??? Part one was REALLY helpful but I am so lost. you aren't mentioning what chords you're playing and I have no idea what's going on with your left hand. I must really be a beginner...

  • you really know what you're talking about, but could you please slow it down for the beginners? thanks!

    ps-you have a great voice!

  • Your teaching and voice is amazing!

    Thank you so much! :]

  • i found that very confuzing, you would say something than something completley diffrent uhhh this is not supposto be confuzing for me I am in grade 9 piano! gosh.

  • you talk too much

  • haha i was like, "he skipped a verse!" and then you said it. haha :]

  • do you have sheet music?

  • try the regispek yahoo group. you should find it there.

  • anyone who knows even basic music theory shouldn't be finding this complicated to follow. it's actually quite simple. great video

  • are you kidding me? this is the most confusing video I've ever tried to learn. Even the river flows in you was easier and that song is the hardest song I know.

  • Thank u!!:)

  • Awsome/Great piano playing' but sing Opera instead.

  • i'm in love with you!

seriously, geniouuss! i love this song, i'm learning it now,

    thankyou so muchhh!!

    xoxo

  • i think this was very clearly explained! thanks.

  • You do realize the key of F# major has 6 sharps, right?

Last I checked 6 was more than 5.

    But that's just me.

And just out of curiosity, how would you explain inversions?

  • Soy de Agrentina...y hasta yo te entendi ja

  • thanks for taking the time to teach! this is great!

  • contrary to, well, everyone else who's commented, I think this is very easy to follow. it's simple music theory and helps those of us who are used to lead sheet notation.

    keep it up :)

  • oh my god your right hand looks creepy :D

  • its really hard to follow how u name the notes by numbers in the first video and then in note names in this video

  • thanks so much! you're good at explaining. you have a nice voice too. :-)

  • This is ace

  • gosh!!! i dont understand this tutorial!!! argh!!!!! it's too confusing...cuz you put numbers on it!!! and you keep on talking!!1

  • well if u watched part one it wouldnt be so confusing!

  • ive lost you

this is too confusing needs to be clearer thanx

  • well you play the song very beautifully

but this video is honestly not very good, well... pretty useless to me.

the 1 chord. wtfs that. i know you explained everything in the first video but.. still.

anywyas I understand what you're trying to do

keep it up cause I guess it's working for other people :)

  • this is the most confusing video ever. doesn't make any sense nor teaches a thing. sorry.

  • my problem here is how the camera is not taping from the same angle as when you were showing the notes and chords in the video 1.

i think it 'll be a lot easier to understand if I'm not trying to guess where your fingers are.

  • I don't agree. I've learned how to play piano for a year and I forgot most of it so this will help to remind me of the basics.

  • to much unnessecery bollox

  • this is briliant!!

  • okay maybe there was :P

    thanks for helping :)

  • this is really confusing, there isn't really any explanation on how to actually play the rhythm.

  • yeah, that's really great how you just learned that by ear. i tried doing that and i perty much got the chords but the sheet music is a little different. thanks for the help!

  • can you...EXPLAIND THE LEFT HAND?!?!? yes..no? ??yes? bah

  • I'm glad to see someone that understands music theory making tutorials. Thank you so much for putting it in my language. This is a wonderful song:)

  • you can't keep swtiching numbers to letters. and you should organize what order you do right hand and left hand in. and notes and chords are painful .go.d

  • plz make one for better or even Hotel Song

  • wow! you can sing and play really well!!!

  • this helps a lot. thanks! :]

  • you play and sinng great also great teacher lol

  • omg.. at first i thought i couldnt get it...

but he made it so easy.. THANKS MAN!!!!!!!!!!

  • please make the video simpler to use, such as mentioning the numbers of the keys more

  • awesome, you're awesome! i wanted to play this song so bad, but i just can't follow it, it's too hard!

  • great tutorial, it's easy to follow once you already know music theory

    thank you!

    xx

(also you have beautiful hands :])

  • I agree! PLEASE! Do a tutorial for the song Better.

    =]

Are you aspiring to be a music teacher? Most people wouldn't have the patience to drag everyone through the whole music theory thing. Most people just want to scoot past music theory and just get to the music. =]

I'm glad you are, though. I kind of need to learn, since I'm teaching myself.

  • can you please do a tutorial for the song BETTER?

  • gracias esta muy bueno eso

    desde argentina!

    flor

thanks that is so cool! i´m flor from argentina

  • it's really beautyful

but maybe you should put your camara in a other angle (you have a beautiful voice)

  • iut's awesome! But i need the score!

    otherwise I can't play it!

  • I think for this piano play ,, you have to be a professional ,,

i've wrote down ,, the first part ,

but then the second part came ,, en there it all goes wrong ,,

    --But i'm still trying !! --

  • thanks matthew! not only are you a gifted pianist but you have a beautiful, beautiful singing voice. you sound like david pomeranz.

  • this is sucks i dont get it

  • Yes please! If you have time re-do! For slow learners like me! Haha! *grin* You're a great tutor coz I understood the first part, but I got a lil confused here because it's too fast. *sad face* Not to be rude or anything though.

  • it's actually not that complicated if you write down the chords from part one like he asks. it's still a little bit confusing since the left hand part isn't explained that well, or at least not as well as i'd like it to be

  • he talks too fast!huhuhu

  • you are great!!!!

  • this one is sooo hard to follow!

    please please please

    RE-DO!

  • it's on my to-do list. i'll try to get to it soon.

  • awh, looking back on that comment, it seems kind of rude. D: sorry!

I really appreciate you doing these videos btw! ^^

  • i've wacthed number one wich is really easy to understand and all, but this is SO confusing :O and you can hardly the what you're playing 'cause of the lightning. really.. just, difficult Oo

  • waaaaaaaaaaay to confusing, even for a person who takes music theory.

you are going way too fast, dude.

  • its a tad confusing...

  • This sucks. I don't get a thing. Don't tell me what she dosent do. Gosh

  • I love that you're using music theory in this, it helps my understanding a lot better because that's what I'm used to.

The only thing I would ask is to slow it down a little, I keep having to rewind it.

    :)

  • this i swell confusing!!

  • This is very confusing (too fast and not a good camera angle) but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos!

  • ahh, i got confused. BUT because i learnt the chords (thanks to you) I can mess around and get the general sound of samson, so thankyou.

  • I really like your "how to" videos, and usually they're great- but this is jsut hard to follow. The first one was great, nad "The Flowers" was easy to follow- but can you re-do this at the other camera angle? This is just difficult to see. Can you do a video on "Fidelity" ? BTW- THANX 4 MAKING THESE!! U R SO NICE!!

  • With this camera angle it is a bit harder to see exactly what keys you are hitting. You are also moving a bit fast; I can see you hitting keys that you really didn't explain. Besides those little criticisms, this is a great video series and so far it's easy to follow. Thank you!

  • I understand how you're playing the right hand, but I'm not sure how you're playing the left still..

  • what>???

  • this video doesn't do for me... the first part is ok, i got it.. that i learned before quiting the piano class but the second part.. sorry dude.. this video wasn't like the others...

  • Hey, I think it's really great that you are uploading videos on how to play songs, rather than just your own performances of them. This really helps, thanks alot. Is there any way you could show how to play the song Braille? I keep trying and failing =[

  • i agree with rspektor fan, i like the way you play it and it sounds great but it would be less confusing to just have a clear view of your hands and play it slowly

  • Wow! That's awasome! Normally I would have given up on this song, cause it seems real hard, but because of the way you explain it it's a really clear. Thank you so much! (BTW, is that a police car in the background around 5.33 :P)

  • Awesome awesome vid. i barely know anything about theory, but your videos has taught me soooo much more. I love this teaching style, it works so good for me. one question. are you playing fifths with your left hand while walking up the scale??

  • hey do u have some sheet for this? im a cinda advanced piano player and i dont have time to watch this... but anyway gr8 idea!!!

  • could you like, just play the song, and put the camera on the piano? but play it kinda slow.

if i could just see what you were doing all together, w/o all the talking, it'd be so much easier.

  • ugh this is ammamziing but icant figure out what the last part of the first verse is...

what are the chords played around "e"???

  • Wow this is fantasitc, seriously.

I've learnt it up to so far, but I can't seem to be able to find Part 3?

    Any help

    Thanks seriosuly :]

  • i think it's easier if he just say the chords and notes. but this is so much effort. it's just hard for me to follow these. and i'm a slow learner but i know how to play the keyboard. but he's good!!! love your voice... it's my frustration to become a good musician.haha!!

  • I personally didn't mind the camera position, because I actually watched the OTHER VIDEO (ahem, ahem, fellow watchers). However, I did m
