  • All that equipment and still have an Epiphone

    Buy yourself a Gibson man

  • Thank you so much. Your the first person to do a blues driver demo without playing blues.

  • hi, i just want to know... which sounds better for alt rock/rock... the od3 or the bd2? i have a bd2.. and was planning to buy an od3..but i cant decide which one to keep... or should i keep both cause they have different areas of specification, whatever.. will wait for you reply..

  • 0:09 Subminal message alert.

  • I WANT YOUR T-SHIRT

  • i have the same dc power suply cheap and effective :)

  • i really like the picture behind you :)

  • Once you kicked on the pedal I knew I needed one for my own delicious shoegazing adventures. Thanks :)

  • your tone is amazing in all of your videos.

lets start a band, just saying.

  • Hi am a beginner to playin the guitar, could you please tell me what pedal would i need to get a sound of status quo, i have a line 6 spider iv 75w amp

    thanks

    paul

  • @craigmcarthur1can this pedal work on bass too?

  • It will work on bass yes. It may be advisable to use a bass specific overdrive tho, i have used guitar overdrives on bass before and the tonal range and affected frequencies dont sound as deep and rich as with a bass specific model

  • @craigmcarthur1 yeah i think you're right. For example it would better to use an Ibanez Phat-Hed on bass than an Ibanez Tube Screamer. I don't play either guitar or bass, I'm just saying what i've heard and read.

  • Wow! Great tone and playing.

  • Digging the blue burst paul. Awesome tones coming from that Epi.

  • The Blues Driver has a great Open sound to it. It allows the clarity of each string to comes through the mix.

  • What's great about the Blues Driver is that it has a great Open sound to it. It allows the clarity of each string to come through the mix.

  • I actually like the BD-2 over most other overdrives. good playing.

  • nice demo creamy sound

  • Not bad playing, nice guitar, but not a good demo of the versatility of the pedal itself. Try different clockray positions in your next video!

  • When u have posted vieos you can give out advice. I have about 5 BD-2 videos, they arent designed to be complete guides to the versatility of a pedal, just a quick snap shot of a partocular tone obtained

  • @craigmcarthur1 I actually like the Blues Driver over the OD3

  • @craigmcarthur1

    lolumad

  • I want your job man. Look at the equipment you have...

    Great chops great video....

    Cheers!

  • I clicked on the advertisement. At first, I thought it was CHUCK NORRIS, but then

I saw some CHUCK TAYLOR. Aww. i'm sad. sighs.

  • Hi,what do you this is better as a booster:Tube Screamer or Blues Driver?

    : )

  • Depends which tube screamer. I dont tend to use it as a boost i use it more as a basic overdrive unit. There are better pedals out there for a boost. I have been using an SPF Ego Booster pedal, which works well. The classic ibanez tube screamers are good also. The Keeley modified boost units are great as a bbpre amps.

  • why are you not playing blues? with the blues pedal...

  • Just because it says blues on it doesnt mean it can only be used for blues. Its just an overdrive pedal that happens to bear that name. Tere is another demo video of me playing blues with this pedal and about 50 others on youtube

  • @craigmcarthur1

as a bluesplayer myself, i know that.... its just that at the time i was searching vids of people actually playing the blues with this pedal becuase i wanted to see if it was worth buying!

  • @moe761 I have a Blues Driver. I actually think it has a better sound then most overdrive pedals.

  • This is probably completely unrelated to pedals, But I'm curious what the item is that is red with white letters saying 'Sex'. At 0:08...

  • wow you have a great sustain! pedal for sustain ?

  • What song are you playing? I like it, I also checked out your band, downloaded your songs from Itunes, keep it up.

  • Nice one, thanks for purchasing the songs. The song in this video is 'Terribilis Est Locus Iste' by my band Vinyl Future. Thanks again

  • @craigmcarthur1 you're a latin scholor eh? Nice demo always impressed.

  • Anyone else noticing the sweet 5/4 going on here?

  • well ur pretty good

  • o man I love your guitar man! I haven't seen a blue one before.

  • Like your guitar nice color good video too

  • Like your guitar nice color good video too

  • nice guitar

  • great job craig-5 stars! Unfortunately when boss named that pedal "blues driver" I think alot of people dont realize that it does more than just blues.

  • yur guitar matches you jeans xD no kiddin!!

    great pedal!!

  • WOW nice guitar man. and sweet floyd poster

  • OMG awsome guitar

  • Nice setup.

  • judging from that saucerful of secret poster behind you. im guessing you like david gilmour and pink floyd which is the only kind of music i like aswell :)

  • ur demonstration of the pedal is better that a lot of those so called pedal reviews. short and simple..

  • Well, maybe you prefer short and sweet but when I make an investment, like a pedal, I want to hear it in more than one setting or situation.

But to each his own I suppose.

  • Hence why I have several video posts of each pedal to try and demonstrate othe aspects of the pedal using different guitars and amps. Also once you become a youtube partner you can look at the statistics attached to any given video. Videos that are too long or too detailed lose viewers half way thru, whereas short and simple retains people to the end.

I also resent people who dont post videos, but then complain about others who hav taken time to post and help people with gear decisions

  • 0:09 haha SEX

  • you beat me to it.

  • your guitar has good gross

  • i lyk your guitar!

  • You should play blues not arpegios.

  • Stuck another demo of this pedal up with me playing blues

  • how much was the blues drive pedal?

  • Google it, prices differ hugely in different countries

  • yha, ic wat u mean man, canada would be much different price than scottland if that is where u are from.

  • B.E.A.Utiful guitar!! Nice demo to, thanks

  • nice bruce almighty cameo XD

  • Hehe;)

  • Perhaps being a bit more specific and saying "just a blue Epiphone Les Paul" would be more helpful. Sweet little guitar. I have a 94 Epi LP Standard but I replaced the stock pickups real quick.

  • omg blue jeans blue les paul blue strap blue chair and blues driver matches perfect lol

  • stop at 0:09 haha

  • lol sex

  • is that the robot guitar or just a blue les paul?

  • Just a blue Les Paul

  • haha, JUST a blue les paul.. awesome guitar man!:D (i play a wine red les paul:))

  • haha its really a great les pual i thikn its an epiphone i was going to buy that one but instead i bought the gold honey burst cuz its looks a bit shiny in the light

  • killer tone...u nailed this one

  • Is the green Line 6 a Delay or Tremolo?

  • Its a Line 6 DL4 Delay pedal

  • Ah, how is it?

Ive been looking into buying one

  • Yeh its decent. I have been using mine for about 2 years now, very happy with the sounds, tone and reliablity

  • This sounds like pure doom metal...

  • This sounds very Radiohead-esque.

    Love your stuff!

  • Thank you, I am a big Radiohead fan so bound to show at some point in the stuff I write

  • The way you stand when you play reminds me of Jonny greenwood too haha

  • is that red thing there to keep the second fret barred?

  • Yes thats exactly right. Its called a capo. Very commonly use guitar accessory, alot of singer song writers use it to shift simple chord patterns to different keys to suit their vocal range.

I use it on occasion as my otehr two band mates use 7 string guitars tuned with the lowest string to B. So if I put a capo on the 2nd fret my A string becomes B allowing me easy access to the key of B, one octave up from my bandmates.

  • really nice guitar mate...

  • Very good guitar, please visit me.

  • Hey man. Just got my Keeley BD-2 and it's awesome! The stock model isn't bad but the Keeley is miles better. You should have a look at it.

  • It is indeed. mine is now a Keeley. This vid was ages ago! Most of my pedals have been Keeley modified now. DL4, DD-3, Cry Baby, BD-2 and MT-2!!

  • Allright. Cool. How's the Dl4-mod? Is it worth the money? I've got a Keeley TR-2 too (suddenly the tremolo is one of my favourite pedals!) but I figured I shouldn't bother mentioning it since you use the line 6.

  • Its a subtle mod that I would only recommend if u are a serious tone nut.

I hate the Line 6 Tremolo it awful, i bought for one song we were recording in the studio to use the tap tempo function with. Was lookin at the Keeley TR-2. I dont use trem alot and when i do at the moment i am using the built in trem on my Mesa Boogie Tremoverb, but its limited.

  • Yeh okay. But like all Keeleys it's definetely worth a look (and its price for that matter). Good thing there isn't a mod for every pedal in the world. If there was I'd probably be broke! :P Keep up the good work, waiting for your EP dude.

  • play some floyd mate !!!

  • i want that guitar so much!!!!! could you please tell me where you got it from and how much, i love that translucent blue colour :D

  • I bought it from my bandmate dude as a backup guitar. It is nice tho.

  • ahhh ok thanks, ive been looking everywhere for it. ill get it eventually. =D

  • Man that axe is gorgeous!

  • niiiiiiiiiiiice guitar thats a gibson les paul right

  • Its actually an Epiphone Les Paul dude, looks and sounds great considering. Its my main backup guitar, my primary guitar is a PRS Singlecut.

  • like the shirt pink floyd rocks

  • I relly liked the riff

B TW: Huge pedals collection (Y)

  • I love the BD-2 is one of the best BOSS compact pedal ever made.

  • nice vid witch pedal do you prefer a boss ce5 or the blues drive? and is that guitar worth the buy because im thinking about getting a epiphone les paul with the blue or the silverburst?

  • Cant really compare an overdrive with a chorus dude to be honest. I wouldnt buy eitehr pedal again if I lost tem tho. The BD-2 is great but the Keeley modified BD-2 is much better. There r better chorus unitsout there than the CE-5.

I use this guitar as a backup/alt tuning guitar. Its good yeh, epiphone make osme decent guitars in that price range.

  • what kind of chours would you recomend

  • Have a look at the Keeley Electronics CE-1, the TC Electronics Nova modulation. The T-Rex Betavibe is also gd

  • thanks

  • Yea digitech is prety goog i use one but pedals boss is diferent sound they are more real

  • That is a beautiful guitar. I've never seen a blue (Gibson) Les Paul.

  • That's because it's an Epiphone.

  • you look like a jonas

  • whats the point in 2 multi effects

  • Well this is just my practice setup, in my live rig I use two heads: a vintage Hiwatt 100and a Mesa Boogie Tremoverb controlled by a Gig Rig Pro 14 switching with a load of stomp boxes.

Here I am using a Line 6 Flextone II from which I use the various amp models for the basic amp sound, and I use the Boss GT6 for some effects (i.e delays, reverbs etc) connected thru the amps fx loop.

Plus I use the GT6 for recording rough guitar ideas onto the pc using its pre amps etc.

  • Oh my god man WICKED setup. KUDOS!

  • great video, bit off topic but i was wondering for boss pedals if you can you a daisy chain if you dont have a tuner? If anyone could would be a great help cause i got and im lookin into the RC-2

  • Answered the question on the other video dude, cheers

  • Bosses sest distortion right there. unless you pick up a keeley moded pedal, there all good.

  • Hey man! which is the configuration of your BD-2?...I have it, but i dont like my sound, it sounds like a crash :S Man, very good played in the video, Thx

  • OMG I see it in 00:06, sorry =(

  • get the boss super overdrive, its 40 bucks and keeps the tone alive, blues drivers great too.

  • im looking for a pedal to play indie music but i dont know what to get,any ideas anybody?

  • Bit of a vague question dude to be honest. What do u need the pedal to do?

  • I just started a band and we want to play some covers of bands like the strokes, bloc party and radiohead

  • OK for Radiohead you will need a shedload of effects. Bloc party some delay pedals, reverbs chorus etc. The Strokes virtually nothing. Basic setup would include some type of overdrive pedal and a delay pedal.

  • thanks dude,thats a great help

  • dude have a look at a digitech rsp200. They're around £85 now and have sounds already stored and give you everything from metallica to johny cash on one pedal.

  • wats the problem with putting a capo on an electric guitar?! sumtimes u just gotta to get the sound, or key you need. don't criticize unless you know wat ure talking bout. otherwise keep your mouth shut...... by the way, i like ure sound man! keep it up! nice pedals!

  • i like ur guitar man :)

  • Put capo on electric guitars is patetic.. plz delet the vId

  • Screw u. Explain why its pathetic. I play in a band with 3 guitarist. Between us we play 6, 7 and 8 string guitars. If someone has a part on a 7 string I can put a capo on the second fret and get an instant octave part, like I do in the song I am playing here. I had the misfortune of watching ur videos......go practice guitar for about 5 years then start commenting on other peoples vids.

  • did i hurt you?

  • Nop not at all dude. I am just pointing out that u should educate urself before critising others.

Go practice guitar, learn some theory and stop being a youtube ass. Also get something to tune ur guitar. Digital Tuner....tuning forks anything.

  • LoL !! ok THX and sorry

  • No probs. Be nice

  • kinda expected a blues tune but this was cool

  • Cheers, I posted another vid demo of this pedal with more bluesy stuff played. Dont play alot of blues to be honest

  • did you change anything out on your les paul epiphone standard or like is it stock?

    also great band.

  • I just took the scratchplate off dude.

  • I just took the scratchplate off dude.

  • damn dude u have a lot of pedals =]

  • what is the difference between the boss BD-2 blues driver and the boss OD-3 overdrive pedal ?

Can they give me a distortion sound like for hard rock solos ?

  • They are fairly similar to be honest. I use the OD-3 mainly through the clean channel of my Hiwatt to get a light overdrive sound. I use the BD-2 thru both the Hiwatt and Mesa Boogie as boost pedal to get slightly more gain. Either of them can give overdrive or be used to boost the signal for solos.

  • so which duncans do you use?

  • Fav combo is the '58 in the neck and the JB in the bridge dude.

  • hi, besides the capo- was that standard tuning?

  • Yup it was kinda, Eb Standard

  • very nice guy :)

  • I liked that very much...

  • 0.09

    lol

  • Do you use your AB Switcher for a second guitar or a second amp?

  • AB-2 for second guitar dude, so I dont need take the lead out when changing guitar on stage. I have 2 AB-2 switches o can connect 3 guitars to my rig at gigs as I normally need 3.

  • You could at least play some blues -.-

Have you tried Boss Dyna Drive DN-2?

I have it and it's great... Great pedal for blues and rock/blues

  • I posted another vid for u dude, playing some more bluesy stuff! Blues aint my forte so it aint great! lol

  • nuff pedals? jk

  • how did you get that tone?!?

that's gotta be the best clean tone I ever heard!

That's not even a genuine Les Paul is it?

the headstock looks like an Epi... though the figured maple top looks better than a LP's!

    great job!

  • Hey man, its just the clean channel of my practice amp with some effects one it. Its a stock Epiphone Les Paul, great finish and build quality on it for an Epi.

  • dude... I own a PRS guitar and I'm fucking in love with your guitar. I had no idea Epi's could sound that fat!!

how much should a guitar like this cost?

  • They r relatively cheap, like £350, then spend about another £200 replacing the electrics and pickups with seymour duncans, and you have yourself an awesome guitar IMO. Granted you have been lucky with the build quality and finish, some are better thna otehrs. Which PRS u own?

  • a Custom 24... it's an amazing guitar!

but I am charmed by your fat LP-like neck sound! sounds better than any LP I heard! and the looks on your guitar... also beats all other LP's! at first I thought it was a LP Standard Limited edition! :)

  • Custom 24 = nice! I have been looking at PRS's recently, beautiful guitars, possibly looking to buy a singlecut at some point. Love the custom models but I have been playing Les Pauls so long I dont know if I could go for a guitar with a different toggle switch method!

  • a little advice: if you're a LP-man, dont buy a PRS singlecut. why waste money when you already got the real thing? IMO the singlecuts dont sound as good as the LP's. if you're gonna buy a PRS - buy a custom24 or a standard. and about that toggle switch, some PRS guitars come with a 3-way toggle. in case they dont - you can take it to a professional and he'll do it for you, it's cheap.

  • I quite like the singlecut for some reason! The build quality on Gibson recently is quite poor, so would hope to pcik up an old one, but PRS build quality is much better at the moment. I know you can get a three way on 22's and 24's but its in an awkward position, I do alot of toggle switching mid strum so need it in the same position as the les paul!

  • The tone is fat and nice more for the chorus FX than the guitar and pick-ups.

  • heyo i tried out the DL4 u recomended ages ago in a shop, it sounds so atmospheric and spacey i defo have to get it :) im a bit of a pedal nuts guy like you though my pedal quantity isnt as epic as yours haha but i need this BD2 as a clean boost because my guitars built for the raw grind of my uber metal pedal and with my amp on a flat EQ (to make pedals soudn clearer) the clean sounds silent so what ya rekon?

  • Hey man, u just need to balance ur levels a bit better. If your amp has plenty of headroom on the clean channel then volume isnt an issue. But if u get a huge jump in volume between clean and overdrive it means u have the gain and volume setting on ur overdrive channel of the pedal ur using to drive it up too high. U need to have settings that eliver equal volumes on all channels, and use the master volume.

  • The BD-2 works OK as clean boost, but ur clean is never going to be as clean this way. I have a SPF Ego Boost pedal which works well as a fairly transparent clean boost. Hope that ramble makes sense.

  • umm yeh thats really helpful ill try that see what happens, thanks!

btw is that the CH1 and Super Drive by Boss you have there? im planning on getting the super drive seems really cool from what i researched about it, im getting the flanger over the chorus though because its fookin hard to find a decent flanger

  • scrap that last one lol i just looked up more vids of the BD2 this is actualy what i need for my rocky tone that i was hoping the SD1 would accomplish lol

  • Its a CE-5 Chorus Ensemble I have dude, and the yellow pedal is an OD-3 which I will have some demo vids of soon! BD-2 is quite good for that breaky p bluesy rock tone.

  • nice i would like to see some time :) i also found that the EQ pedal would grant my wishes as i can make my own clean tone and put the level up which will push the volume to basicly gives me an almost perfect clean sound, this way i wont have to spend a life time trying to balance the pedals out with the amp lol

  • what is your favorite wah of all of your wah pedals?

  • I quite like the the Fulltone Wah that I dont own yet. I have two wahs in my new rig. I use the Morley wah on my heay tones going trough my Mesa Boogie and I use the Cry Baby for clean tones going through a HI Watt

  • do you think one is better than the other?

  • Its a tough question. I like aspects of both. The cry baby is quite noisey, and sucks tone even when off. It also has a limited sweep, and no on light, so telling whetehr its on or off is a problem sometimes if u cant hear urself onstage. The Morley has a different tone to it, but has an auto on/off function and an on light, which I fiond very handy for live use. Tone wise as I said I liek the cry baby for clean and the morley for heavy stuff.

  • If u were to get a modified cry baby with an on light and true bypass, I would probably pick that over the Morely as I quite like its tonal range. But looking at stock wahs, I would have to choose the Morely due to ease of use dude. One drawback of the Morley however is its size, its a giganto wah!

  • yea but to me i dont think the size is much of a problem. and yea good point the morley seems a lot easier to use (i've read about it), and to me i think its sound is better. im gonna go to a guitar center and try out the crybaby the morley and the vox V847

  • Sounds like a plan dude. I would also try out the Fulltone Wahs if they have, awesome wah!

  • k thanks for the help

  • try the V848 i know doesnt sound like itl be very different but the 848's are classy pieces of kit

  • alright thanks i'll try that

  • You my freind are a pedal junkie. Ha but buying new pedals is adictive!!!

  • Yeh big pedal junkie. They make my amps sound nice tho! And I play in a Prog band so need a ton of tones!

  • You my friend need a couple pedal boards

  • Yeh, its worse now! I bought a Gig Rig Pro 14 and some new pedals, I will be building a custom one soon! watch this space.

  • Beautiful guitar and great tone!
