Yes you can. Copyright is automatic, but if you legally copyright something it goes into the official Copyright database and the government will make sure no one can mess with your copyright work. Next time, before you get angry, look it up, do some research.
This was made a few years ago with a home brewed physics engine in my game engine where I test algorithms for games. I had a decent CPU and graphics card (kind of crappy by today's standards :)).
