  • NW, i don't disagree in the least, i think your very correct, but i was stating in the idea of natural body stealth, and what i was taught ..through the physical training of.. few stunt or martial artist can move functionally acrobatically without it being staged, against multiply or difficult targets... because of the control to do, but not the control to stop and change over.. so i feel that as a shadow it wouldn't be an effective art against one who was more prepared then surprised... i say

  • no one disagrees acro-skills have their place in distraction, but are virtual without ability when facing flying objects, cartwheel, flip, barrel rolls and more... unless you know its coming the timing is fully a task in itself.... as proven by Bruce lee, Jackie chan, and sho-kosugi one of the most known stunt ninja artist of tv and more...but as we see movies sell what few can do...

  • @wizardluxas - acro is important for yogic reasons. it is effective against opponents that are not trained to ignore what parts of it are not strikes or attack moves. way i think of these things is - say you could build a combat robot. for it to be effective in all possible terrains & situations it'd require (for hand to hand) both swift silent ninja no-nonsense but also acro, and more.

put them together you get that blade characteristic, flexible-absorbant and also direct-steeled.

  • *case* closed

  • To prove my point all of you ''experts'' go look up UFC cartwheel knockout. A professional fighter gets knocked out by a girly ass cartwheel. You guys wanna know why, its because of the shock value and the fact that it was unorthodox. Risky BUT the end justifies the means...Cased Closed

  • Although it is extremely risky in a confrontation, Good taihenjutsu is GREAT way to escape a situation. If you use it to show off then yes it can get you hurt. its very unorthodox and has a great shock value to a person who sees you do it which can be very Psychological. at the end of the day its all about the mind. if i can scare you before a fight by doing a simple backflip and landing in some goofy pose, then that saves me a trip to jail from seriously hurting you. confrontation prevented

  • Acrobatics used as an escape is high level BUT it serves its purpose. One, is for intimidation. you dont know how many people have seen me do tricks and say "i wouldnt fight you" even though i would never do acrobatics in a fight. Two, some throws, at last minute, require you to do some type of acrobatics to prevent a joint from getting dislocated. Three, at night when you do an acrobatic movement it breaks up your shape. Four, doing acrobatics can cover a large amount of distance.

  • ok first off as a practitioner of the art and a practitioner of so called "tricks" i would like to say this: I agree that the flipping is risky in combat but they are highly practical. Ive noticed most people say that it isnt because they CANT do them. i hate it when people talk about something they dont understand and this is why im commenting on this to silence some of the "experts" on what they think is practical.

  • I train ninjutsu, but can someone tell me if he is sure about that, is ninjutsu better than all fighting sports and martial arts?

  • @shinobiue95 No, it's not! Nor is it worse. After 12 years of Bujinkan and several...well...let's simply call them "encounters" ^^'' ...I can assure there is no good or bad martial art - there's only good or bad fighters! A good boxer can take down a bad krav maga practicioner in an instant. an experienced karate-ka can hammer a sloppy northern shaolin kung fu fighter into the ground. It's all about dedication and willpower, training and experience! find the way that fits you!

  • My example was when i was sitting in my room. My buddie knew that i was home alone. (We study Ninjutsu together.) He found my phone right outside my room, and put on a song. I went out to check, and right when i had picked up the phone, he screamed from behind me and threw a papertowel at me. About me? My ninja insticts told me to get down as fast as possible and dodge the towel. All this without really thinking.

  • you must not think, just do... no hesitation, only action. you must learn patience...

be cool or not, do not try to be cool...

  • those who seek these aspects and want to see my world of the shadow, contact blkmagus13@aol.com and see for yourself...

  • what soke massaki hatsumi teach you ? how to face darkness like criminals, gang, etc or only use it when your are needed?

  • my first example of the shadow coming forth was when i was jumping on a wall and un aware there was glass broken on the other side and the 3rd time i gripped the wall as i fell by my toe and i rolled forward into a tuck knowing that the glass was that close, but it missed me and i rolled safely out of the way, after i went back and looked i missed by inches, and tried now that i knew again and again.. (see what knowledge and skill can create)

  • ninpo is just a meditational philosophy and spirit art of the idea of the way of the shadow self, we have our own which follow the main tenets of the making of the sword and respects to it... (the rest is just brand issue)

  • with all due respect Soke Masaaki Hatsumi would disagree with that statement, and has established it in his own words that ninjutsu is an expression of the arts that are taught from design to design, and he isn't the for most teacher, he is the only open one...that most know about because of Mr K Hays...

  • @wizardluxas what you are talking man? Are you under influence of narcotics?

  • youtube.com/watch?v=gnju3C37N_g&feature=related (watch the flip)

  • youtube.com/results?search_query=flips+gone+wrong&oq=flips+gone+wrong&aq=0&aqi=g4&aql=&gs_sm=1&gs_upl=2927l7879l0l10723l16l16l0l7l7l0l326l1757l1.4.3.1l9l0

  • youtube.com/watch?v=i_KZC-CIkgQ&feature=related (even with all these weapons a paper towel roll can still win....)

  • Soke Masaaki Hatsumi is the only one who can grant someone to teach real Ninjutsu.

  • nice vid makes some excellent points however all of this is ninjutsu but there as also ninpo the higher form of ninjutsu, at wich i train.

    matane

  • @timefiredrag I can relate to that. Ninpo is the dharma of perseverance in the eyes of those on the shinobi path. Nowadays there are people who treat the true spirit of the Ninja like a joke. The gymnastic tricks they use may look good, but they don't work, as Ninja make emphasis on practicality. If a ninja doesn't know the true essence of Nin, then is he a ninja in the truest sense of the word?

  • @Ryutobi imm saying that you're correct, but my sensei still teaches us those "tricks" as a way to gain balance, the back and frontflip can laso be used to exit pin-downs.

    Matane

  • @timefiredrag Well they can be used for some evasion moves, but it's best to be careful what you use them for.

  • @Ryutobi I know last week when i was training i did a backflip without having zanshin or fudoushin , i did it to show off, so i wasn't concentrated enough, i didn't succeeded and twisted my toe now i cant train for weeks.

Now i'm going to use this time to harden my mental strenght and focus so when i do stuff like that i'm always having Zanshin and Fudoushin.
