i have an 86 hatch. Sounded like an electric car before the muffler fell off now sounds like the space shuttle. the 2.0 is very slow. parts are extremely hard to find or are very expensive. I paid $300 for it and Ive put 50K+ on it. Overall I love my 626.
Before you guys give props to this car, I had a 1986 626 LX 2.0L and when I took 5 average sized adults in it, it was like drifting on a boat from China. Rather than feeling its rated 94 Horsepower, it felt more like a our 6 hp Craftsman lawnmower.
At that time, if you wanted to go "fast" they had the turbo GT model which they boasted a whopping 120HP.
