if it is already difficult for this boy to stand up, WHY ask him to stand up on a SOFT surface where the lack of stability in his ankle will prevent him from standing up any further? Why wasn't he asked to stand up from the floor (hard surface)?
Give that boy a proper chance when asking him to do something.
