If the value of fragmented material is so paltry, then why are forensic scientists able to recover little more than teeth or bone fragments from homicide victims and convict a suspect in court? @gregrutz My friend, I am going to have to disagree still. I agree that it does prove that they did live, but it also shows that they died. I don't see how a fossil could be made without mud and water. So many fossils tells me that it was indeed a huge flood that killed and preserved them.

@gregrutz Yep. They sure do. The order is due to natural processes of water movement and the way it sorts thing. Layer upon layer at the same time. What order of fossils? There is no order other than that sorting, plus keep in mind parts of the earth shift, erode and so on, moving layers. I'm stickin' to it. The fossils show that they all died quickly in water and were preserved in the mud layers. Not a bunch of bones in some order that I made up according to how I thought it may have happened.

@gregrutz Floods can too make different kinds of rock, if they are big enough. The pressure of the water would play a role and also the composition of materials. Heat too. Reef means saltwater at some point.

@gregrutz I used to raise corals and they grow rather quickly. Also if they are broken at the correct places, they can make more from both pieces, so then you have two of the same. This is how we can make money off of corals. You can have a reef of corals in like 2 years under the right conditions. As for the shells on the mountains, its because the mountains didn't used to be that high and the flood made them higher, but first shells were left upon it before the valleys sank from the pressure.
@gregrutz I won't argue that it grows slowly every year, but the pressure of all the flood water on the valleys below the small mountains would collapse the valleys down farther, making the mountain higher when the water recedes. Valleys get pushed down by the water while the mountain rises up.

There is no evidence for a flood, no flood mud layer all over the earth. Where did the water go? Mountains don't just appear at 29,029 feet just because water was moving everything. I would have left some evidence, it didn't.

The theory of evolution has its roots in a book named On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin, which was published in 1859. It preceded the Nazi party by 60 years.
What you are referring to is called "social Darwinism" which is not science and has been used to rationalize terrible injustice. However, beyond the name it has nothing to do with the actual theory or Darwin himself.

Your argument is pretty fail for 2 reasons:
1. The biological theory of evolution does not discuss sociology, morality, race, eugenics, etc. Social Darwinism is the result of non-biologists taking the theory and applying it beyond its intended scope, usually in such a way as to justify their own bigoted worldview or cruelty to others.

One more point. Keep in mind that no biologist with information about evolutionary change insists that this evidence, which may in some cases dispute the literal order of events in the Bible, be taught at churches and in theology or Biblical studies classes. No scientist is demanding that the evidence for evolutionary change be included in all religious texts. This is what it would be like if things were reversed. I teach evolutionary biology. I would suggest that you begin to read the studies that support the theory. It is a long and involved journey, but just as you wouldn't critique a heart sugeon's work, you won't be able to assess the credibility of the discipline until you have done extensive reading and studying of the field. Most criticisms are short sound bytes with no underpinning evidence. People devote careers to evolution. They wouldn't do that if they didn't feel the theory justified it.
This game from creationists has nothing to do with science. They worship science through the very media with which this bogus video was 'created', but deny evolution. This is a story of a power struggle between irrational, doctrinal thinking and the enlightened world. They despise anything that would topple their belief that they are God's ultimate creation, and all of nature is in servitude to their whims. @gregrutz Yep. They sure do. The order is due to natural processes of water movement and the way it sorts thing. Layer upon layer at the same time. What order of fossils? There is no order other than that sorting, plus keep in mind parts of the earth shift, erode and so on, moving layers. I'm stickin' to it. The fossils show that they all died quickly in water and were preserved in the mud layers. Not a bunch of bones in some order that I made up according to how I thought it may have happened.

@gregrutz I used to raise corals and they grow rather quickly. Also if they are broken at the correct places, they can make more from both pieces, so then you have two of the same. This is how we can make money off of corals. You can have a reef of corals in like 2 years under the right conditions. As for the shells on the mountains, its because the mountains didn't used to be that high and the flood made them higher, but first shells were left upon it before the valleys sank from the pressure.

@gregrutz I won't argue that it grows slowly every year, but the pressure of all the flood water on the valleys below the small mountains would collapse the valleys down farther, making the mountain higher when the water recedes. Valleys get pushed down by the water while the mountain rises up.

There is no evidence for a flood, no flood mud layer all over the earth. Where did the water go? Mountains don't just appear at 29,029 feet just because water was moving everything. I would have left some evidence, it didn't.

If you're going to espouse such bold claims, I suggest your research include more non-partisan sources, instead of claims from people who want you to be a creationist. Besides, I don't "believe in" evolution. It's not a belief. Belief is what faith is all about; I've come to a tentative, but extremely corroborated, conclusion. But if you'd like to leave the discussion at to-each-his-own, that's fine.

Only a smal minority was pushing evolution as fact. There are writings and documents of people talking about evolution as nothing more then a substitute religion ...IE REPLACE GOD. If you were truely into critical thinking you would search out this information for yourself. But I guess its easier to believe what someone tells you

The theory of evolution began when we observed INSTEAD of invented data. I've searched out this information my whole life.

The theory of evolution has its roots in a book named On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin, which was published in 1859. It preceded the Nazi party by 60 years.
What you are referring to is called "social Darwinism" which is not science and has been used to rationalize terrible injustice. However, beyond the name it has nothing to do with the actual theory or Darwin himself.

Your argument is pretty fail for 2 reasons:
1. The biological theory of evolution does not discuss sociology, morality, race, eugenics, etc. Social Darwinism is the result of non-biologists taking the theory and applying it beyond its intended scope, usually in such a way as to justify their own bigoted worldview or cruelty to others.

You're saying that the modern theory of evolution grew out of Nazi social Darwinism... the fact is exactly the opposite. Like I pointed out already, Origin of Species preceded the Nazis by 60 years. Darwin (and modern biology) makes no mention of applying his biological ideas to human society, race, etc.

Don't just go ripping into how you think it isn't intermediary between fish and amphibian, but explain how it was discovered, I'll give you a hint: Using evolutionary theory they were able to find out WHERE and WHEN (which geological layer) the intermediary species should be, with this information they went out looking for it, and found it where they expected. What's your answer for this? The devil put it there?

However, fossils are good to have, but they are NOT the main evidence for evolution.

One more point. Keep in mind that no biologist with information about evolutionary change insists that this evidence, which may in some cases dispute the literal order of events in the Bible, be taught at churches and in theology or Biblical studies classes. No scientist is demanding that the evidence for evolutionary change be included in all religious texts. This is what it would be like if things were reversed. On the contrary, religious groups are doing just that in science classes.

The argument centers around where and how these two these two options, evolution and creation should be taught. I'm a science teacher and can understand how evolutionary science can rattle the foundation of religious faith for some. The main point is the difference between faith-based beliefs and those that have clear, empirical evidence. At my university, we teach theology, religion, and philosophy. Evolution, however should not encumbered by what is taught in those classes.

I agree, that's what many of us have become, but it's not explained very well by blaming evolutionists only. Hordes of business leaders and company executives have made a fat sum of money off of the deterioration of our children and society by pushing the sale of immoral goods. You'd be shocked at how many define themselves as wholesome, God-fearing, (and rich) Christians. You simplify things for your own ease in passing judgement. I teach evolutionary biology. I would suggest that you begin to read the studies that support the theory. It is a long and involved journey, but just as you wouldn't critique a heart sugeon's work, you won't be able to assess the credibility of the discipline until you have done extensive reading and studying of the field. Most criticisms are short sound bytes with no underpinning evidence. People devote careers to evolution. They wouldn't do that if they didn't feel the theory justified it.
