  • I love economics. Although I am studying Computer Science, I love to study Economics. Thie is really how the world works and it is the base of our world. My favourite economist is John Mayrd Keynes. His theory is really interesting.

  • As long as humanity exists in vast numbers with varying degrees of knowledge and value (monetary or otherwise) assigned to that knowledge POVERTY will always exist and the notion of eradicating it puerile and idealogical. Not that I propose or endorse a communistic-style total equity of lifestyle for all because that in itself is unrealistic. Economics Schmeconomics!! Common Sense.

  • An intrinsic, limited and scare non-necessity commodity such as gold, silver nor fiat money, as the unit of account, and non-globalization of macroeconomics is to blame for financial crisis. Food and Agriculture, as the unit of account, is the long-term solution for financial crisis, with complement to rules under the Rome Declaration on World Food Security.

  • Long-term Elimination and Prevention Technique for Inflation and Unemployment

In an ideal situation, where and when Real Gross Domestic Necessity Goods (RGDNG) such as Food and Agriculture is the unit of account, demand and supply of necessity goods (food and agriculture) is directly proportional to Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Thus, Real Gross Domestic Necessity Goods (RGDNG) prevents inflation and unemployment.

  • It's funny how some of the economics students wanted to "make poverty history" because they should be able to understand that as long as the world revolves around the concept of money, poverty will always be a guaranteed by-product of that concept.

  • Economics is not a Ruddy Cake walk or a primrose path to an Evergreen Perky Job in this turbulent period of global financial crisis whether u r in Europe or USA... ,you guys would have to work at a blue-collar wage ,, ranging merely between 5 to 10 grands per month ....Don't misunderstand me but I Love the faculty of Economics as long as they don't smother it with catch 22 PSEUDO MATHEMATICS WHICH HAS RUINED THE SUBJECT'S INTERPRETATION ..I WOULD SUGGEST YOU ALL GET A PHD -IN MATHEMATICS FIRST

  • They should have went to buisness school instead if they wanted money (BTW).

  • @redarrowhead2 Do expand...

  • "Make poverty history." No form of economic policies will ever make that come to pass. If they really studied economics, they would realize that.

  • I am economics

  • So, your video is cooler than mine, but you should still check out "Why Study Economics at Georgia Tech". What I lack in charisma, I make up for in wit/inanity.

  • "there's no such thing as a free lunch" one quote i will never forget from having taken microeconomics last semester...

  • i don't know whether to do mathematics or economics?

  • I like Economics

  • Studying economics is great because you get to use both sides of your brain. One side for all the tables, formulas and analysis; the other to imagine a world where it all makes sense.

  • "The curious task of economics is to demonstrate to man how little they really know about what they imagine they can design"

    -F.A. Hayek

Who understands this quote after thinking about it, understand economics.

  • @Omroon thats because economics is human nature itself. and human behavior is completely unpredictable, on an individual or society wide scale. therefore this quote makes sense. so when you are an economist, you forced to determine the nearly impossible, future human behavior.

  • @thapfdplayer LOL, completely unpredictable!? Look up Peter Schiff Was Right, Ron Paul Was Right and Jim Rogers at the Mises Support Summit. Austrian economists in general have a long track record of accurate economic predictions because they understand the basic principles of human nature.

  • "economics is the apparatus of the mind"- does anybody have any suggestions to what this quote means?

  • some of those girls are a good enough reason for me ... although econ is mostly dudes, isn't it?

  • I would consider studying a natural science instead of economics. I believe that the lessons of economics can easily be acquired later in life. As evidence, consider the number of great economists who have come from outside the field and compare that to, say, the number of economists who have moved into another field.

Studying something like physics, however, gives you very strong mental tools such as mathematics and an ability to see patterns. This is harder to learn later.

  • i study economics cause i want to understand the economy.

And to become a full professor in economics.

  • Economic studies Rules

  • what skills do you learn in economics? good prep for law school what can u do with this degree?

  • in the US, economic majors make on an avg, $40,000,,, start pay... thats a pretty good career if you ask me.... my cousin just graduated with a masters in economics and he makes about that much and thats his first economic job... and he is 21....

  • cobra, what does your cousin do? What kind of company does he work for?

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 You learn the economic way of thinking which includes thinking at the margin and considering opportunity cost.

  • i think economics can help you:

understand the world, understand people, make the world a better place.

  • That boy who simply says "money" at 0:21is beautiful, eloquent, and I definitely would.

    Bob Denham ate my Hamster

  • All of those that said their main reason for taking economics was because it made them money are shallow. There is so much more to it than that.

One of the best quotes from it:

"There's more to economics than money." Simple but true!

  • "There's more to economics than money"...

Indeed, economics is the study of forces that change the world!

    Great vid...thanks

  • So people want to study economics because they'll make money? I'd rather do something fun with my life than make money...

  • @Paddis92 It doesn't matter, economics doesn't teach people how to get rich. Sure. you could get a job at a bank and maybe make your way up the ladder, but from the statistics I've seen, engineers have better employment prospects and are more likely to make it into senior management.

  • LoL

'To signal I am not stupid'

Sounds like some good Microeconomics going on there :)

But seriously people... Economics isn't easy I mean its not business studies now is it.

  • @BilllTKD It's easier than a real science.
