I think the term Dub is made in reference to the synthesis of previous recordings. Any reggae which is synthesized is Dub whether it be Dub step or just Dub

The best way to describe it is simply saying * messing around with bass wave lengths and pitches.* Dont even start on the origins... someone somewhere created it , others expanded and improved.
