@pteargriffin44 If I'm using the solid Dimension on fresh oil, but the lanes start to break down, I can switch to the pearl 2nd Dimension and get the same kind of reaction shape, but get the ball through the front part of the lane better and get better recovery downlane when I start having to move left to chase the head oil.
@djbelc01 gotcha tht makes sense. i do the same with my dimension and pyro but i still have the pin a lot lower on the pyro than the dimension. with the cg directly under it so it goes longer.
Watch where the ball goes at both the arrows and the breakpoint. These are all small adjustments (it's a relatively fresh sport pattern, and I'm bowling by myself in practice. No need to make huge adjustments)
If I had a Perfect Dimension, I'd do it. However, since I'm not on Storm's staff or anything, I have to pay way too much for bowling balls to get too many of them!
I am a stroker as well and after watching your video I purchased the 2nd Dimension. Thanks for the great video! I was stuck between buying the Ebonite Playmaker or the 2nd Dimension. I have heard a lot of positive feedback about the 2nd Dimension, so I went with it. :) Wish me luck!
They're complimentary. I use the Dimension when there's quite a bit of oil out there, or when I need to play outside angles, or when I need to tame down the backend, since it is a pretty rolly ball. I use the Second Dimension when I need to move inside further when there's a little less oil, but I still need a smoother breakpoint shape. If I need more backend angle, I'll throw a Cell or Gravity Shift. If those are too strong, I'll throw my Spit Fire. All are great, but fill different holes.
Thanks. I use 15lb equipment. I actually use a Storm Gadget wrist brace -- I keep the wrist cupped at about the 20 or 30 notch at the most, and keep the lateral adjustment pretty close to center, just slightly off to one side (can't remember off the top of my head). I'm pretty partial to the Dimension line since I shot my first 800 with the original Dimension, but I also love the Cell as a complement for a different hook shape, and the Spit Fire is money on drier patterns!
Love it. It does, however, need some oil up front to get it down the lane since it's a very strong pearl. Also, I did not like the out of box highly-polished finish (too skid/snap for me), so I sanded it and applied a much lighter coat of polish to improve the midlane read.
Nice for this set at least. We'll see what happens when I actually bowl Nationals in Vegas this July, however! ;) (Different center, different oil machine, Brunswick Anvilane instead of AMF synthetics, etc. It'll probably hook a little less than this)
I actually didn't match up particularly well with the Virtual Gravity when I threw it at a Storm Open House. It tended to leave a lot of flat 10s for me even when I kept it in oil. It transitioned into the roll phase too quickly and made it hard for the ball to really drive through the pins for me.
It depends. The backends were fresh when this video was filmed. The sanded Dimension was coming in a little flat and gave me less recovery room than the Second Dimension (which only has a light coat of polish). Later, I switched to a pin-down Cell with a light coat of polish on it that gave me quite a bit of miss room. (After two games of working on ym release, I bowled four games for score and was in the 190-225 range every game despite missing a few easy spares trying different things)
why do u have both of ur dimensions drilled exactly the same?

Nice bowling! What weight ball do you throw and what setting do you have on Robby Rev? What is your favorite ball?

NIce vid nice balls..but i don't think it's a good idea to play with polished balls on 40 ft oil pattern .. :)
