Can you elaborate what DDR3, SDRAM mean ? Also is 1333 MHz something like clockspeed ?

  • why they should make hover laptops

  • im sorry but.. you musnt know that much about PC's if you went and bought a mac xD

  • also if you have your laptop on ya lap, if it gets hot (this is for male) take it off ass this literally on the black and white, scrambles semen, it warms and then prettymuch boils it to death, decreasing your sperm count significantly

  • i have one because i buy it last year

  • The Laptop I am planning to get has a vent on the side. Will this make overheating become a problem or not? @HeloniLynn I support your statement. Thumbs Up!

  • whoever thumbed up crazzydude14, must be an idiot!

  • What I used to do was, if suitable, remove the battery and only use the power from the charger, currently in it. It does not over heat to any noticeable amount in my experience, though I believe it still does so. Also, it is good for power manegment and controlling electricity bills. You can use the fully charged battery for travell.

  • If he had a newer macbook pro he wouldn't need to worry about overheating as the heat spreads over the aliminium body of the laptop

  • Sometimes my laptop almost burns my leg.. :S

  • I don't know if my laptop is overheating, but if I use it too much the screen just stays the way it is, it doesn't move or something, is that overheating too? Then I put it off and i can't put it on for like 15 minutes... I just ordered a laptop cooler..

  • i dont use a laptop fan for my desktop O.O

  • I think Dell has more then a problem with overheating...

  • the stickers on the bottom of mine with the serial number are burnt and worn because of overheating

  • If my laptop starts to overheat, I just pour a cup of water over it.

  • @westham99000 Wouldn't that make it die or something?

  • @westham99000 l0l

  • @westham99000 i put ice in my computer.

  • @westham99000 -_- no comment

  • Someone help whenever i watch a video for about 10 mins the laptop overheats and turns off can someone please tell me at least how to fix it

  • ...most reasons why laptops overheat is because of dust starts blocking for your fan, and you need to change the termal paste under your CPU...

  • @xSteZ thanks,i will try that

  • @bumtaksi but i do recomend that you make someone whos experienced with PC/Laptops to do it.

  • Thanks for being clean shaven.

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 1720, and this afternoon I built a raised platform using...LEGO!

I got a flat lego board and simply built four pillars in each corner to support the laptop. Then I got an ordinary fan and directed it at the new space underneath the laptop. My over-heating problem has vanished! ^_^

  • i never had heating problems with my ACER laptop it was 2 -3 years old so i changed it , i bought a HP for about £700 and it over heats too much .. and they say acer is a bad make -.-

  • Nice video, sir!

  • Better than Dave Andrews...

  • Putting a laptop on your lap kills sperm,,,,,

  • im using laptop and it overheats and shutdowns itselfs...

  • I have something like that cooling unit. But mine only has two fans one on the right and left. It works pretty well but the power jack in the back is broken so you have to move the power cord around alot. It is a targus and that is a known problem. I plan to get a better one.

  • It is and apple?? Noooo its a mac!

  • nice old man. keep up the good shit

  • My laptop eventually got so slow that i thought i got virus =. =

  • Ya, that's why i like Dell Laptops, their memory comes close to battery so when battery goes overheat, you can get BLASTING performance.

  • SPRAY CAN OF AIR IN FAN VENTS! i did that ,it removed the dust clogging up the fan.my laptop overheated and shut down in minutes.i bought the cooling stand goes under laptop, worked for some time.now sprayed vents, temperture dropped drastically, and not even using the extra fan tray under laptop. from 76 to 57temp

  • Thats hot!

  • Wow ancient notebooks and ancient know all. Dell netbooks don't even have fans in them now. Do you know what a netbook is?

  • i thought the fan does not work fast no more

  • my compaq laptop overheated and i havent been able to turn it on in 4 days, what do i do?

  • @TheSkunky81 It probably is broken, the best thing to do is to take it to a computer store.

  • Heat rises It does not go down!

  • @BenYourBritishFriend My laptop usually gets hot like in half hour

  • @nAhk1s1337 Ok, try to find out as much as u can about your Laptop, then send me the details as a message to my Inbox. Will help u as much as i can, to help u lower it's overall temperature. Firstly, what version of Windows are u using ? Next, how much RAM do you have ? Also, how fast is your Processor, in Ghz ? To find out, click Start, type DXDiAG in the Run dialog box if it's XP, (answer Yes if u get a question), or in the Search box if it's Vista or 7. Note your PC details on the System tab.

  • @nAhk1s1337 A few things can make a Laptop overheat, and apart from the 2 obvious main ones, which are 1, Dust clogged up in the internal air filter, and 2, Thermal paste that's dried up, which is now ineffective, the other things that can make it overheat, are having too many processes running in the background, and having Spyware or Malware, which slows down your Computer, and makes it struggle to work properly. Not having enough RAM can also cause problems. What Anti-Virus program do u have ?

  • @BenYourBritishFriend mines Avast, and its clean. Its dusted i try removing it all the time trying do my best

  • Everybody that said something negative about this video is an idiot. Believe it or not, there are still people that don't know basic computer stuff they're mostly seniors - well, not just seniors but a lot of them are - and they don't ask questions because of Jerks Like You. I hope it makes you feel good about yourself to make fun of other people because you're certainly not impressing anyone else. Mocking other people's ability makes you a loser.

  • @HeloniLynn Very true, well put.

  • Well, i didnt know about the processor thing. so thanks for the video.

  • Whats the device called cause I need one to cool down my laptop its so much over heating that my hands are getting burned sometimes,

Please tell me what its called and where possible can I buy it in the UK

  • @Brucezee123 The device is called a Laptop Cooler Pad, or a Laptop Chill Pad, and you can buy them from shops like ARGOS or MAPLINS. Don't buy one from PC WORLD, DIXONS or COMET, as they're overpriced. Make sure the one you choose is USB powered, as it'll use a USB socket on your Laptop to work. The best priced ones cost between £25 - £40. Consider buying more RAM, if you have less than 2048 Mb, cos it will help the Laptop to work better. Finally, have it serviced at a good Computer Repair shop.

  • close ur laptop in the summer and play in the winter!

  • thx, i got the problem with my compaq presario A900...... Its really annoying, you cant even play anything. it gets so hot and its annoying.....

  • @nAhk1s1337 How long does your Laptop take to get very hot ? - If it takes less than 15 minutes, it's likely that the Laptop's internal fan is blocked up with dust. Also, the thermal paste on the Processor may have dried up, and would need to be replaced. A blocked up fan is the most serious of these two, as your Laptop may be close to going BANG ! This recently happened to my friend, on a £600 Laptop. It couldn't be fixed. Take it to a good Computer Repair shop, and have it serviced. Good Luck.

  • 25 years of years of computer industry experience? Pfft dude i think you should retire. And plus about the pad you showed with the three fans, it doesnt work on them laptops. Oh btw, at the part whenever you said about the pad that it would keep your computer cooled when your working on your desktop, why even need it for your desktop computer when it already has an internal fan for it to keep things cooled and circulated?

  • @VIPLightning he ment desk top as on a desk and laptop as in your lap. he didnt word it very well :D

  • @glitchorama123 Lmao i kinda figured as much.

  • thx

  • @codeythesilent RAM is a card that stores memory. So calling a stick of RAM a memory card is not going against it's function...

  • Will it blend? That is the question.

  • lol burned legs

  • heat allways travels UP ...not down.

  • My brother has been used his dell for 5 years and still hasnt been broken once.

  • @Bera2hehe You have to turn it on first.

  • this is the "battery"......oh really!!!! cuase i could have swore that was the cold fusion reactor that powered the laptop

  • @SaGalv LOL

  • 'there are some drawbacks to your laptop overheating.' Really? I hadn't noticed.

  • @vi20RickrMetaL12us just because ur computer overheated doesnt mean it shuts off instantly. Unless he has a piece of shit computer.

  • I had same plastic fans cooler...didn't help...made worse overheating

  • Gay and Homo.

  • my laptop overheated while i was watching this ,, lol

  • @S90id lol

  • 0:01 :D

  • im hot =D

  • @xeroxwizard Let's turn to a nerd talk. If you are a male, you must not put the laptop on your legs for much time for the following reason. Your balls are located outside of your body because they have to be at 33 Celsius. Your body is at 36 degrees Celsius. If you use to put the laptop on your legs, you may raise the temperature of your balls by 3 degrees, so this is dangerous for your fertility. (and it's not a joke).

  • Help from anybody! Long story short..I left my Compaq presario f700 laptop inside my backpack in the car for about 45min-1 hours. It was around 90+ outside. When I turned it on again...I managed to log on to the desktop..and the whole desk was just white. Turned it off manually...click on my user account to log in...nothing anymore. Has anyone ever by accident left their laptop in their car on a hot day? :/

  • omg u my hero, ive been wanting to know why my laptop kept on turning off... thnks.

btw its a compaq Presario C700 and it gets hot!

    thanks,

    tom

  • i have a Dell inspiron 1720..

and at times when im using it the battery dies real quick so i use it while its hooked up to the charger and the Laptop and Charger brick thing both heat up.. can your computer crash completely by overheating? should i not use it while its charging?

  • what about cooling, and fans, like...in the back of the computer that blow out air? isn't that like cooling or something?

  • @Proxyon16 Some models contain a small fan but that's nothing. If you think that modern CPUs require these gigantic coolers and 120 cm fans to take the heat away, how can such amount of heat escape from a laptop easily? It's not the battery only, the battery heats during charging or discharging. There is also the CPU heat sink and the graphics card heat sink which are widely located inside the laptop and get the computer hot. The disk, the chipset, the RAM....

  • i have an advent 5711...its starting to switch itself off and rebooting with no warning..then i get the sodding blue screen crap..what do i do? anybody please? is it from overheating?

  • @cornerbox yea my sister gets that try to keep it cool

  • dell labtops ASLO have batteries underneath...hmmm didnt know that sir

  • Nobody follows these steps because nobody really cares about their laptops overheating.

Either way, the new MacBooks (Late 2009/Mid 2010) only get hot in the back, so they're cold on your lap, for the most part.

  • i got a BSOD ( Blue Screen Of Death ) and it crashed and turned off then i set it down for a while and i turned it back on and it worked again?

  • @elskepode2

yeah mine did the same thing on 2 separate occasions..

but it just turned itself on and i turned it back on right after and it was working again..? lucky me though..

  • @CrazyTacoGuy303 well this is my 6th BSOD in the past month its the motherboared but this is a brand new laptop and it isnt a virus i scan my PC 2 times a day with full scans with 3 different programs (AVG Free Edition, Super Anti-Spyware free edition, and Malwarebytes) thoughs are the best free Anti-spywares out there

  • @AkolatronikTV HAHA! I didn't think of that! XD *high five* lol :D

  • I have an ACER and it never overheats.

  • @monkeynut000 what acer do you have? because I have an Acer, and it overheats alll the time when gaming.

  • @Proxyon16

mine overheats all the time too... its freaking annoying, just had to shut down mass effect 2 because it began lagging

  • @Proxyon16 aspire 5532

  • @monkeynut000 Well I have an Acer Aspire 7738G, and it's pretty powerful. However when I start playing for example Battlefield Bad Company 2 the CPU goes to 93 degrees celsius.

  • @Proxyon16 Same...But a 7530G

  • when my laptop overheat its force shutsdown and wont boot back up for 5 minutes and then runs smovlly

  • turning off my fan doesnt even make it shut off --- even while playing fast gaming

    Go Intel!

  • "dell laptop also have batteries" omg !!!

  • If your laptop overheats and crashes (This is baased off of a dell insperion 2000 WinXP Media Center) It wall show a screen and power off.

  • battery well discharge faster with the usb fans its better to apply more thermal paste

  • ITS THE JOKER!!!!

  • be careful when u buy a laptop cooling pad. some fan speed are soooo slow that u can barely feel the breeze (USB - powered). even if u connect to AC-DC, it is useless

  • he he left pc screen is my old pc screen.its to small now that i got a 27 inch mac

  • Just dont buy laptop, buy real computer, its that simple. Its cheapier more powerful and faster.

  • Carry your desktop to work with your or around town and keep it powered.

  • too right, but laptops can be much more useful for school like me for example i have both.

  • Yep. I used to use laptop but after it broke in 1 week i bought real computer.

  • The memory is not right beneath the processor. It's better to decrease your power draw, you'll have longer battery life and everything involved uses less power. The easiest way is to dim your screen, turn your wifi power settings to minimum, disable the video card (if you have newer nvidia ones typically 9000series and up its tres easy.), and to throttle the cpu speed.

I've never had memory 'pop' from heat, but yes the cpu could shut itself off if the fans were really, really plugged.

  • about how much does that fan device at 1;08 cost in $US ?

  • how do i fix a laptop that turns on then cuts off and does not show a screen ?

  • What the hell?

If mines to hot, it runs like REAL slow for like 5-20 seconds and then its back to normal :S

Anyone got a solution for this??

Coz its bothering me for like 2 years now..

    Thanks in advance.

  • It's called throttling, and your cpu does it so it doesn't kill itself. Clean your fans man.

  • i have both kind of thoes lap tops the dell one always turns of f I rase it up

  • I got the same laptop and the same problem i cleaned it up inside there was a lot of dust in there so i see whats gonna happen but i will buy the thing for the laptop to get it cooler

  • Holy crap. Something I haven't heard of.. (Processors POP out of it's socket when laptops became too overheated--with older models of course) <--I never thought that could happen.

I keep hearing that the "Dell Studio 17" has no problem overheating. Has no need for a cooler.

    Is that true Jonathan?

    Anyone know about that computer?

  • they cant pop out of there sockets unless they were never put in properly in the first place

  • Well, I was speaking of older models, but I'm sure your right. Makes sense.

  • true dat.

  • lawl the macbooks memory is right by the battery too this old man is crazy. same with the harddive. Personally the apple laptop itself does what that cool pad does. lawl.

  • i've known 2 people who had their macbooks overheat on them with permanent damage. apparently that built-in "cool" pad that macbooks have aren't very effective

  • not really , some laptop have fan / heatsinker build in

battery is just a power , but there's another side of laptop having Fan / Heat Sinker

my sister laptop , ASUS , have fan + heatsinker

  • my laptop's screen is just black when i turn it on....why??????? this just happened 2 days ago and i tried turn in it on and off and still wont give me no image!!pls help..what can i do?

  • it happened to me to stay kool....just take the battery CARFULLY out and out it CAREFULLY back in.......to:82iv

  • do you have a mac?

  • no..is a toshiba windows xp

  • ok sorry then i dont know what the problem is

  • Try this, Take out your battery, Unplug it off the Ac Adaptor, and then press and hold the "power" button for like 30 - 60 secs and then plug the battery back in and try switching it on then.. it should probably work :).. Else something related to the display is blown up in your lappy.

  • oh my goshhhhhhhhhhh! it worked.. thank u soooo much!!!!!!!!!! u think it will happen again?? and if so..should i do the same thing??

  • ok so earlier this evening what u told me to do it worked with my laptop then i turned it off before i went to towrk and now that i was gonna turn it back on the same thing happened..what can i do now..should i have it replace something?? or something else i can do instead of paying tooo much!

  • Hmm that is bad.. well if it didnt work again, Its probably ure electricity which blew up ure power unit!..and it sure is gonna cost alot for that OR your Screen if its ure screen which blew up!..

Well if its gonna cost more than $298 then u better go for this sweet deal --> Compaq CQ60 419wm! .. pretty awesome lol .. im gettin this laptop :)

  • lol i think your video card is fried

or if u can see a dark image, your light is burnt out

or your monitor is just dead

    once again............lol
