@Lifelightning Hi there, yes I know your pain I had this exact issue and not much help out there for it! The main thing you need when running it for the first time is to link to the gamelog file in your dwarf fortress directory so something like LazyNewbPack[0.31.25][V9.1]\Dwarf Fortress 0.31.25\Gamelog.txt
If you open the file it is basically your Announcements in-game that are made. Hope this helps!
Your dwarfing is top notch; I'd hate to see you stop your excellent Let's Play because of the ignorant comments of a few 12 year old youtubers. Hope to see another vid soon.
Feel free to start as many forts as you like, such is the Fun of the game. You've got a very entertaining comment style, far exceeding your DF competition. We would watch more even if you dropped the tutorial pretense.
Designations -> Set traffic areas (d-o) and set to restricted the parts of the river where your dwarves are most likely to walk over. If they insist on still going through ice (happens sometimes if the route is still shorter despite the increased cost, shouldn't be the case here though) just increase the value for restricted movement from 25 to something higher.
if I remember correctly, you cna forbid them from walking on certain areas (the river) of the map? Kind of like the opposite of fishing, where you can designate fishing zones.
Oh my god I love your stockpile setup. I think I have to watch all of your videos now.

I'm having trouble setting up the soundsense within the lazy newb pack, can you at least respond to me on how to set that up or even make a video?
Thanks

Hope you'll go on with this. It's great to watch, and may get some more attention to a game that needs it.
