I own a iphone and the BB Bold. I love them both however the internet on the Bold is painfully slow at times even on WIFI and yes my iphone is mush faster. That said if I had to give up one I would keep my Bold. RIM please update your internet!
Wow... I even just cleared the cache, turned off WiFi only (something you can't even DO on the Bold! It's all or nuthin'... how lame!) and even via the 3G connection with a mere TWO bars the page loaded in twenty-EIGHT seconds...
Man... stay away from these sad "me too!" RIM products!
OMG!! I just tested this on my iPhone 3G via WiFi and, whether you want to believe it or not... it took an entire TWENTY-ONE SECONDS TO LOAD!! And no, I had NEVER visited the site before!
DAMN!! This Bold thing is TOTAL CRAP!! (don't even get me started on the TRACKBALL... jesus, does it get lamer than THAT??)
Nice try RIM, but I give you 2 years TOPS before you're just another footnote in mobile phone/computing history.
Just a quick note: While loading the web page, two emails were also being downloaded in the background. While this might still not account for 29 seconds, it certainly did not speed up the loading.
The iPhone in the original test still blew away the Bold in the "better" test. 35 seconds for iPhone, 59 seconds for Bold. This is hardly good news for BB.
Let's see how the iPhone deals with Flash sites or corporate intranet sites - I'd rather have a slower browser than one that cannot load a page at all in those situations. Also the original post of the Bold vs iPhone browser test by Mobile Computing - the hose of that video mentioned that the site has some heavy javascript; but didn't try a site with Java popups or java coding enabled, why?
they did not use wifi browser on the Bold at all (a bunch of liars)... their comparison was done with Bold on crappy EDGE network versus iPhone on Wifi.
I was refering to the load times of the Bold in THIS video response as opposed to the one listed & done by the other video in the info of this post top right corner.
Ummm, in YOUR video, the browser starts loading at 0:19 and ends at 1:18. What did you think I was talking about?
Your "faster" test shows the Bold loading the page in 59 seconds while the iPhone completed it in 31 seconds. Are we supposed to be impressed? Your test simply shows that Bold is slow, whether on EDGE, 3G, or WiFi.

Thanks for the repeat test - I've amended our review in the light of the possible Wi-Fi/3G glitch and plan to run further tests.
However, I still make that 59 seconds to download the Mobile Computer site in your test - the iPhone took 31 in my test.
If you're in the US then you'll lose a few seconds for the download from our UK host, but 28 seconds..?
Conclusion: BlackBerry Bold web browser - slow.

The original video had the wifi symbol that disappeared when he entered the browser, Is it not possible he had a different menu setup?

Prom1 here, MUCH Better TEST!
Curious was the Javascript enabled, I figure you know your BB's a LOT better than the host at MobileComputing did.

I don't think you noticed but in this "response" (where the Bold is on WiFi), it still loads the page, like, TWICE AS SLOW as the iPhone 2G.

A lot better?
Umm, browser starts at 0:19 and then the page finishes loading 1:18.
That's 59 seconds.
How's that "a lot better" than the 35 second for iPhone?
