vw did make the 1500 with dual carbs and it was called 1500 S
as for the part of boiling over
well you cant boil the water because it doesent have water but you can destroy the engine by overheating it
owning a typ3 I that I drve almoust daily I think that it is a very praktical car with a lot of luggage space ,the squareback especially

I had one of the 1600 twin carb cars.
It was awesome, in a slow motion kind of way.

the single solex carburator was a big problem for thisengine ,infact VW change the engine from 1500 to 1600,and was fitted with dual carburator that make it more efficent.
