You shouldn't incourage petshop like this by buying the degu and you should learn more about them because if you call this a rat it is because you have no knowledge in that type of animal and you should get to know them better before buying them. Degus cannot be kept alone even if you play with them almost all day long you need to keep them with other goos. They cannot eat too much sugary vegetable and they need regular sand baths.
