It baffles me the sheer ignorance surrounding evolution. There's a mountain of evidence from several different fields that came to the same conclusion, and most of it isn't even the fossil evidence (of which there's still a lot). Jeez people cure your ignorance, read a book or take a biology class.

The earliest lines of homo sapiens who split off from the Great Apes and led to the emergence of human beings are documented everywhere on the net for you to see with your own eyes. Fossil evidence is real, and it is documented for your viewing pleasure. If you say you don't believe in evolution when it has been proven for this long right in front of you then you're not just religious, you're straight up fucking stupid.

Check out the book "Life Ascending" by Nick Lane--he has some great ideas on how the first cells came about (metallic bubbles near deep sea vents.) From the perspective of plausability, you have to keep in mind the huge time scales evolution operates on. Even if the creation of the first reproducing "cell" has a one in a trillion chance of occurring, it becomes likely over billions of possible "events."

Evolution is a process that's been occurring for billions of years, and will continue to do so for as long as earth is capable of supporting life. @Mogley52 Worms don't evolve into human. This isn't Spore or some silly game. The theory is that we all share a common ancestor. From seaborne animals to land base animal the links are there. APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures. @LifeLovin1 et. al. I think that's actually a fair point, but there are viable theories. Check out the book "Life Ascending" by Nick Lane--he has some great ideas on how the first cells came about (metallic bubbles near deep sea vents.) From the perspective of plausability, you have to keep in mind the huge time scales evolution operates on. Even if the creation of the first reproducing "cell" has a one in a trillion chance of occurring, it becomes likely over billions of possible "events."

And I do understand your point in regards to how the time frame greatly increases the chances. The premise is similar to the theory that if you hit random keys on a key board long enough you'll eventually get a nice sentence. To test this theory, 5 chimps were put in a small cage with a working keyboard and monitor for a year. Around 50,000 characters were entered. "a" was the only valid word typed.

Evolution is a process that's been occurring for billions of years, and will continue to do so for as long as earth is capable of supporting life. Quite simple really. That's what's cool about science, it's the best process we have to discover how things work. No one asks if you *believe in* gravity, Relativity, or the chair you may be sitting on. Mainly because these are obviously not things sane people have doubts about. To be honest 'Science' does question everything all the time, but the process of biological evolution has more evidence for it than ANY OTHER SCIENCE DISCOVERY!
And that includes the chair. If evolution is wrong then all other aspects of our science usage is in error, including the science behind this computer and the Internet.

APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creatures anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged-pawed dog-like creatures.
