ok my question is. this was my second time that i try to line them up right. but once i try to put my belt back on is goes off by a inch. but my car still started up but when i give it some gas it stall on my right away..meaning is shut off on me..i have a 93 honda prelude 2.2L vtec..any ideal that yall guys can give me? i will take it apart once again.and if i fail i will take it to the shop..and be broke again

For all who own 1995 to 1999 eclipse/eagle talon, and those who did the 2.4 swap into the eclipse/talon's. This is very accurate for both 420a and 2.4edz. Now, there's no excuse we can't to do both timing belt and water pump.

Whats wrong with my engine?: On a cold start and not warmed up, my engine makes noise when in drive and reverse but not in neutral or park(Not moving) and once its warmed up the sound goes away. when my enigne is warmed up it idles around 800 or so. if i slightly press the gas as the rpms go up intill 1000 or just past my engine makes noise. Some say its my lifters, some say trnasmission, others say its a belt.

***VERY IMPORTANT***

For all who follow this video you are on the right track. I replaced my water pump using these videos and it was a life saver for me.

After I finished the engine the timing seemed to be off when trying to start.

Tore it down and checked the timing marks and they were correct..

Then I ***VERY IMPORTANT*** unplugged the cam sensor on the drivers side of the head, tried to start again with no luck, plugged sensor back in and BINGO.

DON'T FORGET TO RESET THE CAM SENSOR

hahahha without the timing belt on. turning the cam gear, which turn the camshaft which open and close the valve, in this case the valve is gonna hitting the piston which you gonna end up having a bad valve or bend valve................

@1FunnyMom1 the water pump runs off the timing belt remove front crankshaft pulley take off the plastic covers and you will see the timing belt idler pulleys tensioner and water pump takes about 3 hours to complete the whole job

A lot of the manuals only emphasize the two inner marks on the cam sprockets, not even bothering to drawer the outer marks in.
