  • I really enjoy Blue Swede's remake!! It's bouncy, peppy, catchy as hell, and so much fun to listen to you. I'll take this over the Association original ANY DAY!! I don't care what the anti-remake haters say, Blue Swede have done this and this #1 remake, Hooked On A Feeling, a great service!! Hooga-Shaka-Ooga-Ooga indeed!!!

  • One of my favourites from fourth Grade and first time I've heard since about 1975!! Thanks so much for uploading this!!!

  • @LauraSommer Nice profile picture by the way.........yeah it was a favorite of mine as a 14 year old too.

  • The Swede hit #7 in Billboard, 10-19-74. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • from freands memory

  • Funny thing The group was Swedish, but when they sang, they sounded British(to me anyway). Anyhow, great uptempo remake of The Association classic.

  • @cmulwee001

In Sweden we are taught british english in school so we have a tendency to sound british rather then American.

  • @odetomt

Oh, that could explain why the well known Swedish group, ABBA sounded British as well when they sang!

    Interesting stuff, thank you.

  • @odetomt My condolences!

  • I think that this version was way way better than the Association.

  • How'd it do in Sweden? God bless!

  • I have that album still remember the other songs on it (working in the coal mine, pinewood rally ,sunday afternoon)how;s that for obscure rock trivia.

  • I had/have it on 8-track. How's that grab ya'?

  • What a great version a million seller that reached # 7 in oct '74 on Billboard

  • Terrific humorous take on the overly dramatic Association hit and the equally histrionic 5th Dimension rendition. Vern Gosdin, the '70s country singer did a credible straight version of this song as well.

  • My ultimate favorite 70's cover. I can not get enough of this. Thanks for the post!

  • Thanks for the view.

  • Boy, do I remember this one! Heard it A LOT in 1974. Had all the subtlety of ripping open a bag of your favorite snacks with your bare teeth. Having said that, it should get much more playing time on the radio. The original by The Association is nice, but it has become a pepperoni pizza because of severe overplay.

  • The Association had a lot more than the three that get played to death.

  • Are you sure it's not the Association on speed? Interesting take on a classic song.

  • I'm surprised it has not been "reggaed" like "baby I love your way" and many others in the 80's. This version slowed a bit could very well be adapted with a few other changes.

  • love this version !!!

i thought i'll never find the artists name

    thank you alot :)

(i knew this song from an astrid lindgren film and love it since i was 5 :) )

  • Well I am glad you found it. Thanks for the view.

  • Wow, I thought this version was lost forever! Thanks for posting--great memories from summer of'74!!

  • Nothing's lost where I'm concerned. Except for my mind, of course. Thanks for the view.

  • You people are wrong, top ten song in 1974, listen to the crap today......better then than now...GREAT FOR THE TIME....SEE YA...BLUE SWEDE WAS GREAT......THANKS FOR POSTING....

  • Now there's a wise man.

  • And 'cept for singing, those folks didn't know

    a word of English,I heard!!!!

  • Yes it's true. They had to be coached on English versions of the songs they covered.

  • So I take it you're undecided on this one?

  • Ouch! 1974? Well, for whatever it's worth, thanks for putting this out here. It's simply a song I never thought I would hear again. I was 14, which that in itself is hard to believe. :-)

  • I am sorry but their version SUCKS compared to The Associations!!

  • That's kind of harsh! I never claimed it was better. I just thought it was very different from the ballad. To each his own , I guess.

  • Thank you for adding this delightfully lighthearted version of "Never My Love." Great video as well!

  • Glad to do it. It was my of my favorite 45's growing up. Surprised this version hasn't been covered more often.
