The problem is that 911 shouldnt have happened in the first place. Only after a tremendous attack did he even take (reactionary and self-destructive) actions. Whether he prevented further attacks is up for debate but his failure to take preventative action for 911 when he had prior knowledge of bin Laden's plans is set in stone.He failed the families of those lost in 911 and went on to run a failed war fueled by lies of WMD's and Iraqi connections to al Queda. As for Katrina, there is a separations of powers issues, where the state governor has to request Federal support. Where the Bush Administration went wrong was not having the resources ready when it was time to move.

They had fucking Blackwater on the streets in the first 24 hrs.
They managed to fly 3000# sandbags to try to prevent flooding in wealthy areas - which would have been great if they hadn't been flying over people on rooftops and overpasses who were dying of thirst.

There is one by a Dr. who stayed with his patients, but I'll have to look his name up again. He talks of his crew ventilating people by hand for days only to watch his critical patients have to wait until rich ones from Tulane hospital - who were NOT critical- air-lifted out first.

So? Who has the money: the poor or the rich? And why didn't Ray Nagin waited until it was too late to evacuate the city? You compare THAT with other hurricane disaster areas like Alabama and Mississippi? You try to blame Bush, but it takes LOCAL leadership to get the job done.

The Louisianna National Guard WAS IN IRAQ.....along with all of their equipment while 1600 Americans were drowning to death in New Orleans. Even if Nagin and the Governor had screamed from the highest hilltops at the very onset of Katrina (which they DID) help NEVER would have arrived in time thanks to dumbya's QUAGMIRE in Iraq.

How lame and ignorant can you be to suggest that the sum total of all NG assets in LA were out of the country. Please... Lets try and remember that Katrina didn't even hit New Orleans head on. the levys broke long after the storm passed... Wonder what happened to all that money sent to strengthen the levy system?

Once again: Mayor Nagin waited until it was TOO late to evacuate the city. Otherwise, he'd have used all those school buses to do so. And Gov. Blanco waited THREE DAYS to request Federal assistance. You tend to want to put ALL of the blame on Bush, conveniently ignoring the fact that there is a separation of powers issue at work. ANd BTW, Louisiana HAD National Guardsmen available, all 3500 of them to assist the local police. Get your facts straight. Bush screwed up, but he's not ALONE.

Who was going to drive those buses?
FEMA blocked all kinds of voluteers with supplies from entering the city. That is solely a Bush screw up.
I agree that Nagin & Blanco shoud have been thrown in the flood water, or dropped on an overpass
