  • It's a shame that was Hans Zimmer's first and only Oscar win. He should have 10 Oscars right now.

  • @ABThatsMe91 he also won one for gladiator

  • @MattMcClellandPiano no, you're wrong. It was defeated by crouching tiger, hidden dragon

  • @emstrad79 oh crap i forgot....well hes still the best composer on the planet in my book!!

  • What's called the piece you chose for Interview with vampire?

  • @fatizoo1000 Louis' Revenge

  • No scores I can think of that got snubbed.

    1. The Lion King

    2. Forrest Gump

    3. The Shawshank Redemption

    4. Interview with the Vampire

    5. Little Women

  • Have to admit I did enjoy all 5 of these films immensely !!!! Interview with a Vampire was incredible...such talent from Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas and especially a young Kirsten Dunst. She was also in Little Women that same year !!!

  • The score of Little women is used in Sense and sensibility's treailer

  • The 2nd Best year for Scores after 2002

  • @fatizoo1000 I disagree, 2001 and 2004 were the best.

  • @Winduct Oh No! I can agree for 2001 but 2004 isn't as good as those years that I've mention before.

  • It's a tough call to choose between the scores for Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption. Of the main themes I slightly prefer Forrest Gump, but as an overall score and with particular respect to the 'Shawshank Prison' theme I've got to favour The Shawshank Redemption

  • @GregOrCreg me too..

  • 1. The Shawshank Redemption

    2. Forrest Gump

    3. The Lion King

    4. Interview with the Vampire

    5. Little Women

Notable omission(s): Ennio Morricone's luscious jazz score for Wolf

  • 1. The Shawshank Redeption °°°°°

    2. Forrest Gump °°°°

    3. Interview with vampire °°°°

    4. Lion King °°°

    5. Little wooman °°°

  • 1. The Lion King (Hans Zimmer)***** (BTW the african voices where arranged by Lebo M. but composed by Hans Zimmer)

    2. Forrest Gump (Alan Silvestri)*****

    3. Little Women (Thomas Newman)****

    4. The Shawshank Redemption (Thomas Newman)****

    5. Interview with the Vampire (Elliot Goldenthal)****

  • I think Elliot Goldenthal should have won, he scored Interview with the Vampire and to be honest, I've never heard anything more original than the score of that beautifully made film.

  • Forrest Gump's Is so Amazing and adventurous !

  • Did Hans Creat The African Voices ??

  • @fatizoo1000 I think he did

  • @emstrad79 Are You Sure about what you're talking about !

It's so difficult to get those african voices !

He Really deserved this Oscar , Don't You think ?

  • @fatizoo1000 He didn't do the voices. A man named Lebo M and his African choir did the vocals while Zimmer provided the music

  • @ABThatsMe91 And Haven't they been nominated ?

  • @fatizoo1000 No.

  • Hans Zimmer is really a Genius !

  • Hans Zimmer deserved this one.

  • 1.The lion king *****

    2.Forrest Gump *****

    3.The shawshank redemption *****

    4.Interview with the vampire *****

    5.Little women

The best 5 in the last 30 years

  • @emstrad79 Oh, No! You didn't like Little Women score???

  • @fatizoo1000 four stars, the contenders were very strong
