  • Great job. Love it.

  • nice flying!! ... just about ready to get my SR up for the maiden flight :)

  • I use realflight G4 and it does help you learn orientation skills and memory muscle which will help you save the heli when you lose control in real life. The small heli's are more difficult to fly in real life than the bigger ones but most people buy the smaller ones as they are cheaper. The blade 400 stock gyro an servos are not very good as i found out myself. if you can swap them for a 401 gyro and better servos it will handle the weather a lot better.

  • I should add that the only thing I fly is the MCX and MSR which I find that hovering is not an issue with these helis, that is the easy part.

  • that is awesome! I have 10 hrs on the phoenix rc sim, and at first I thought " no way this is impossible" but now I can hover, all over the place and eventually 5 minutes a lose control. I will not fly my blade until I have much more sim time. Question for you is the sim realistic or is it a waste of time? it feels realistic to me, I have a big imac, in your opinion how different and helpful are they? should I just fly?

    thanks for any advise!

  • I've been flying for many years and I still regularly use the sim. I find Realflight more realistic than Phoenix but I do use them both. They will never be as good as flying real, BUT they do teach key skills, and program your brain with muscle memory. So yes sims are worth it and are helpful, and are not a waste of time.

Maybe it's time to pop on the training gear and give it a try?

thank you for your advise. I have the my blade ready to go.. I've build a good training gear, set the pitch range 3, 5, 7 degrees. 75% max thro, adj some rate/expo. If it's anything like the sim I think I'm ok if it is harder I'm not sure but either way I'm taking baby steps all of the way. I think myself inside the heli . I gave myself this entire year just to learn an d this hobby is not easy I'm finding out I can't imagine to many RC pilots out there! thanks again...cheers!

  • Real life is definately harder than the sim. Sorry. You might want to add some zero or negative pitch otherwise you might go up and never come down again :-)

  • @omj624p

thank you, that is what I'm staring to realize. Especially when out of control all the energy is translated or converted into lift and when I gain control it drops like a rock! this happens with low RPM head speed on the sim. I plan to keep it in one place and come down as soon as I loose control seconds if need be so I plan to hoover about 2 feet up and stay and bring down the second I loose control.
