This is coming out of Lars's mouth. Lars said, "Anyone who did change their sound and gave the fans what they wanted are sell-outs." WTF! If you want to see it I can send you a link to watch it. @jckulewsky 1st of all I have been into metal for over 20 years so yeah I am far from being a kid. I was into Metallica before you where even born. I gave-up on metallica after Load and Reload. Their lyrics darker now. LOL!!!! metallica has never really had any dark lyrics to start with. Here is the def of sell-out band: "Anyone who sacrifices artistic integrity in an effort to become more successful or popular or someone who forgets their roots." That def fits Metallica Sheep boy.

And look at some of the songs they wrote in the 90s. The unforgiven is a direct corolation to the oppression james went through. It says that its him in the song for christ's sake. And they didn't stray from their roots because death mag. is just like their 80s stuff with better singing. You don't make any sense

People throw that accusation around all the time and honestly, you sound like a retard. Metallica is able to make a variety of music and you can hear that all the way in kill em all. As soon as dave left james added a whole slow melodic section to the four horsemen. More styles=wider audience. Metallica never sold out, they just play music everyone likes to listen to.

Btw Fade to Black is very easy to play. Hell that was the 2nd or 3rd song I ever learned on guitar. Yes it is hard to play fast like such bands as Nile, Aeon, Dying Fetus, etc. There is not one metallica song that is hard to play. Metallica can't play fast because they suck!

Also, Dyers Eve is waaaay more difficult to play than anything slayer has. Its both fast AND rythmically difficult. And metallica didn't sell out, they evolved. Their lyrics are more dark now than anything in the 80s. And since when do sell out bands make music with symphonies which don't sell well at all?
