Truely Harry, you will be missed. Granted Col. Potter was not the role I liked the best, I was partial to the role of Officer Bill Gannon. I believe it was a great reunion with Jack Webb when he was seen again in heaven. Long live Sgt. Joe and Officer Bill.
Thank you for the good memories Mr. Morgan. Rest in peace. You and your partners were so good at it that sometimes was very difficult to see the line between reality and action. This series help me to complete many, many nights of work. Thank you to all of you.
M.A.S.H. Has a special place in my heart because it can be fun sometimes and yet at others it shows the futility of war that happened in Korea , my country of origin

Well done for putting this together.
So many memories, serie, but song especially. Occasions where suicide is painless in reality...And sometimes it has been or may have been,...but that's another topic...has nothing to do with this supreme song/music!
Actuley Nickcat Frank burns was way over the top and Winchester is a Pearson that one would meet up with more often. and I think he was much more funney then burns. as far as a biger ass hole that is true.
A good show that long overstayed its' welcome. It outlasted the War itself, was the often told joke. I sort of lost interest(But not entirely) after Frank Burns left.then there was an episode where Hawkeye stayed ,turning down his discharge. RIGHT!! That was not only insulting it was plain stupid.
@Nickcat5 Nice ComeBack...but you are more Boring for stating the obvious....I met Alan Alda ( not that this makes me special ), he is Super Cool! BTW...how do YOU determine "Overtayed it's Welcome? Cheers!
@ASSBANG6969 Whether I like Alan Alda or not has nothing to do with what I say about the show. What was so obvious about what I said? It was my opinion. I liked M*A*S*H,But,like alot of other shows,It got old. Some people wouldn't agree ,I'm sure. As much as I liked Cheers,It was stupid a few times also, But the characters didn't become parodies of themselves like they did on M*A*S*H.
I have watched this since I was born (1998) and it has gotten my through a lot, with it's humor and all of the actors. When my grandmother passed away a few years ago from a long battle with cancer, and on that last night, I was in the same room with her with my parents, and I was able to watch Bug Out while I fell asleep, and I remember thinking of all of the times we had together while watching this. :/
I remember watching this show back in the early 1940's. I loved Bruce Willis in this show! Ah, back then, we were very worried about the threat of Wal-Mart taking over the used car market. We enjoyed our analog cell phones and Windows NT workstations and long walks along the beach with our pet hermit crab.
M*A*S*H* FOREVAAAAAA,.....Luvin' the theme song as much as each and every star here,....but i gotta admit good ol' Hawkeye was my fave,...maybe its cause Mr. Alan Alda was a very positive influence on my life! @chism26 Nah, Tho Winchester was good, Frank Burns was much funnier. He was somebody that pretty much existed anywhere you went. Winchester was rather an isolated character you probably wouldn't know in real life unless you were in his circle. Plus Frank was a Much Bigger A-Hole!!

My favrot Hawkeye line was from Season two when he walks in on HotLips and Frank with Hot Lips Standing behind Frank Massaging his head with a vibrator and Hawk says to Trap Like I always said behind every good man theres a woman with a vibrator HAHAHA
I was in a MASH unit back in the late 50s early 60s. WOW that show and the movie gave me lots of memories and lot of it was true. God bless the guys for making remember and enjoying. 501st Armored Medical Company, Fulda, Germany.
@unnoon M*A*S*H is an American television series developed by Larry Gelbart, adapted from the 1970 feature film MASH (which was itself based on the 1968 novel MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors, by Richard Hooker). The series is a medical drama/black comedy that was produced in association with 20th Century Fox Television for CBS. It follows a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the "4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital" in Uijeongbu, South Korea, during the Korean War.
@unnoon The series premiered in the US on September 17, 1972, and ended February 28, 1983, with the finale becoming the most-watched television episode in U.S. television history with 105.97 million viewers (though one estimate said 125 million viewers; in 2010, Super Bowl XLIV surpassed the record with 106.5 million viewers. The series, which covered a three-year military conflict, spanned 251 episodes and lasted eleven seasons.
I was a young boy when M.A.S.H was on in the 80s, however; I still remember what a wonderful t.v show it wad. One of the best. I glad that it still on. It brings fine memories and touches my soul, hearth and life. I WILL never forget it! Thank you for the video...it's amazing!!!!!!!
Yes....i think 2 of the actors have died.....McLean Stevenson aka Lieutenant Colonel Henry Braymore Blake and Larry Linville aka Lieutenant Colonel Franklin Delano Marion "Frank" Burns....R.I.P.
@loudrgfan you know that this was a movie before a tv show right? this was a song from a scene in the movie and was tuened into the theme for the show.
MASH was the best TV show ever. Hawkeye was the best of all. McLean was also a very good actor (RIP)...I'm 13 years and for me, henceforth nobodz will create suck a beautiful and amazing TV show. I salute my DAD, who is a BIG MASH FAN!!!! Good job Irossi888, and GOOD LUCK for the MASH FANS...!!! I
Suicide is painless if you stick a hose on the end of a tail-pipe and put it inside your car and let the carbon monoxide choke your thoughts away because you feel all alone in life and your friends are never around in your time of need
I'm watching this series with my mom. She watched it during school and shes seen evrey episode more then once, I live this show!! We are watching all the way through the whole series, great job!!
@pauljhongeorgefan This show, and the original Twilight Zone series both move me greatly. Once you've seen all of the MASH episodes, I suggest you try to see all of the original Twilight Zones (1959-1963), and see if you don't agree that they have much of the same humanity as MASH later had.
@pauljhongeorgefan I hope you watch a good episode first, like "A Stop at Willoughby". If you watch a bad episode, you'll wonder what all the fuss is about.
I purchased the M*A*S*H* box set. It's absolutely amazing. 36 disc, hours and hours of entertainment. The original movie in 1970, with Donal Sutherland, and Radar (Gary Burghoff) was also included. There was Season 1 to 11, The final goodbye, AND the 30 year reunion. IT WAS GREAT !!!!
Hey they played this intramentel at my friends funeral after he commited suicide i didnt know the lyrics until know or why his siste had played the song rip Nikki suicide is painless it brought on many changes to your children..
I used to watch this show all the time when I was younger. A brilliant (and quite sad sometimes) comedy. The themesong was perfect for the show, but some folks forget its not completely about suicide. Its about "Painless", the dentist from the unit.
i love the show. Even after most of its cast was changed, it remained great. i probably liked the later episodes more cuz they were more serious, and the characters not only made a point, but were more relatable
@producerjb I love MASH too. New cast shows different ppl in the same situation. Thats great to see how they are carrying on. And they made it possible to say more 'serious' stuff("this land was occupied by good decent ppl"-well, wasn't?...). Frank was pure joy but Winchester III was so sweet & delightful!... And playing with form, ie. changes of perspective by different narrators. My favourite is letter to Klinger's father :)
@Azartusfar Sadly, yes. Larry and McLean are both gone. McLean passed from a cardiac arrest in 1996. Rather strangely, the guy who played Henry in the movie MASH (Roger Bowen) also died of a cardiac arrest the day after McLean passed.
Lineville passed in 2000 after complications arose from his cancer surgery.
M*A*S*H set a standard for television that will never be equaled, and rarely has a show maintained such an impossibly high quality right up to the last episode.
@beerbrain420 not only that, but they did it even with most of the original cast gone. most shows, even the greatest ones, die after a main character leaves. Mash found a way to make the new characters as great as the originals, and yet, make them different.
@producerjb Excellent point, yes that was indeed a rare feat! Like replacing Colonel Blake with Potter, or switching Major Burns for Winchester....they never missed a beat. Although we must admit, Hawkeye was the glue that held it all together. If Alan Alda had left the show, even M*A*S*H would have been hard pressed to continue, although they might have tried.
this was the best show Ive ever seen. it was so warm and funny, touching and still important socially. theres never been a show even close to it since.
If you don't see bias in Guerrilla of My Dreams you're letting your love of the show get in the way. It goes far beyond a doctor treating a patient. Everyone not named Col. Potter tries to assist a communist spy in escaping. Even after she gives her speech the SoKo soldiers are the bad guys. A simple look of humility by Hawkeye and B.J. would have been nice. Another alternative ending would have the woman being successful with one of her attacks. I just want them to show an actual enemy existed.
@croissantanyone And just so you know, this is no place for your garbage. I don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Independent, or just stupid, I WILL not have slanderous, inaccurate garbage strewn across my video's comments.
@lrossi888 dude, just chill and disable comments, or ignore them. You cant say you wont have it but you will have other comments. Your breaking his first amendment rights. Theres always gonna be haters. I dont see how political commentary comes into this anyways. despite my political views MASH is my favorite tv show. I love hawkeye! btw you would probably be pleasantly surprised at how accurate and truthful glenn beck is (probably why he is so slandered amongst those who want to lie to us)
@Porojukaha First amendment rights on the internet?
You must be new. :P
Read my video description. As the video owner, my rights are that I have the right to keep the comments on this video on-topic and prevent flaming and trolling. That is why I am able to remove comments, block users, ect.
As far as your belief of Glenn Beck being "truthful", the best I can do without starting a political flame war against you, it to say that the facts disagree with you and I also disagree with you.
I used to see that show on TV all the time when I was young and I just never listened to the lyrics. Damn, I had no idea it was about Suicide. How fucked in the head was I? I mena, over and over I heard that song on the TV. I must have had some kind of mental disorder. I never used to listen to lyrics. DOnt know why. Damn that is strange.
@croissantanyone You never watched or understood m.a.s.h.Some of the greatest rebellious characters were writen in the script!Communist dont rebel they give in!Thanks Hollywood for showing the world you dont have to be a pushover or a give in commy bastard!
@croissantanyone - So sad that your ridiculous political nonsense has to comment on nothing but actors and their names - your mother should be so proud...what a loser....
Great video! Love this version of the song too. I remember seeing MASH when I was a kid, and even though I liked it back then, I forgot about it. My boyfriend recently requested the boxed set as a gift, and I've been watching the entire series...I really do love it! Such a unique, wonderful, thoughtful show. I've never seen anything like it, and I doubt anything will ever compare.
I also knew the cast, I worked at the location set in Malibu Creek State Park and grabbed the signage when the fire came through. I have the helicopter sideboards on the wall in my gameroom. I got everything but the Best Care Anywhere on the two poles. I even had time to grab the door off the Swamp complete with dartboard.
My dad got all the seasons of mash for him B-Day a few years ago. I was it, with out even seeing the episodes, i said i don't like it. But my dad dragged all of us to the TV and showed up his fave charactures......I fell in love with it ever since. i know every person the the TV show and cried at some points.
This is one show the family would all but drop everything for and watch. I love it couldn't to hear the song to start it off again. Thanks for all the memories.
@MiyagiGaming I thought she was brilliant in Mash. A really good actress and I wish that I had met her I loved the whole series and watch it whenever its on. Next time you see her please tell her that Mike Stewart (on air alius) an ex-Radio Caroline pirate radio DJ thinks she is the Biz and I love the whole crew of MASH and I am sad for the one's no longer with us LA. My real name Mark
The only American comedy that I have found funny You can keep friends Sex in the city and all their never ending dross. MASH was intelligent humour and I dont know why they are happy turning out mundane uninteresting "humour" aka bull shot, when if they really try they can produce a really funny programme like MASH.
@piratedjradio what about Seinfeld...just curious...there was pretty good stuff in the late 60's early 70's...when it was still ok to be silly and farcical. Now its all uber-hip and sarcastic.
WORST SONG EVER! The original was as good as it gets!

Suicide is painless if you stick a hose on the end of a tail-pipe and put it inside your car and let the carbon monoxide choke your thoughts away because you feel all alone in life and your friends are never around in your time of need

@pauljhongeorgefan This show, and the original Twilight Zone series both move me greatly. Once you've seen all of the MASH episodes, I suggest you try to see all of the original Twilight Zones (1959-1963), and see if you don't agree that they have much of the same humanity as MASH later had.

@Teflon65 ok, ill try it.

IT WAS GREAT !!!!

how come you left out potter?
wackydude101 11 months ago
@wackydude101
Like the Grammy's - it's hard to remember them all.
Potter was actually in the show when McLean Stevenson was in charge. He was Sgt. Steele. I got all the discs.

Brings a tear to my eyes as I remember the final moment of the series, the takeoff. It was the first and last time I've wept at a movie.

1st amendment? Must be an American thing.
I used to watch this show all the time when I was younger. A brilliant (and quite sad sometimes) comedy. The themesong was perfect for the show, but some folks forget its not completely about suicide. Its about "Painless", the dentist from the unit.
gortmundy01 1 year ago
@gortmundy01 But the character Painless wasn't in the TV show and actually wanted to commit suicide in the movie.

i love the show. Even after most of its cast was changed, it remained great. i probably liked the later episodes more cuz they were more serious, and the characters not only made a point, but were more relatable
producerjb 1 year ago
@producerjb I love MASH too. New cast shows different ppl in the same situation. Thats great to see how they are carrying on. And they made it possible to say more 'serious' stuff("this land was occupied by good decent ppl"-well, wasn't?...). Frank was pure joy but Winchester III was so sweet & delightful!... And playing with form, ie. changes of perspective by different narrators. My favourite is letter to Klinger's father :)

Whoa whoa whoa, so the actors for Frank and Henry died?
Azartusfar 1 year ago 2
@Azartusfar Sadly, yes. Larry and McLean are both gone. McLean passed from a cardiac arrest in 1996. Rather strangely, the guy who played Henry in the movie MASH (Roger Bowen) also died of a cardiac arrest the day after McLean passed.
Lineville passed in 2000 after complications arose from his cancer surgery.
RIP. They were both great actors.

M*A*S*H set a standard for television that will never be equaled, and rarely has a show maintained such an impossibly high quality right up to the last episode.
beerbrain420 1 year ago 2
@beerbrain420 not only that, but they did it even with most of the original cast gone. most shows, even the greatest ones, die after a main character leaves. Mash found a way to make the new characters as great as the originals, and yet, make them different.
producerjb 1 year ago 2
@producerjb Excellent point, yes that was indeed a rare feat! Like replacing Colonel Blake with Potter, or switching Major Burns for Winchester....they never missed a beat. Although we must admit, Hawkeye was the glue that held it all together. If Alan Alda had left the show, even M*A*S*H would have been hard pressed to continue, although they might have tried.
beerbrain420 1 year ago
this was the best show Ive ever seen. it was so warm and funny, touching and still important socially. theres never been a show even close to it since.

Lorgrin 1 year ago
If you don't see bias in Guerrilla of My Dreams you're letting your love of the show get in the way. It goes far beyond a doctor treating a patient. Everyone not named Col. Potter tries to assist a communist spy in escaping. Even after she gives her speech the SoKo soldiers are the bad guys. A simple look of humility by Hawkeye and B.J. would have been nice. Another alternative ending would have the woman being successful with one of her attacks. I just want them to show an actual enemy existed.

@croissantanyone Oh yeah. The fascist, Communist, Stalinist, Athiest, Hitlerist, Marxist propaganda by Hollywood Liberals. Death to free thinking!

@croissantanyone And just so you know, this is no place for your garbage. I don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Independent, or just stupid, I WILL not have slanderous, inaccurate garbage strewn across my video's comments.
lrossi888 1 year ago 27

The only American comedy that I have found funny You can keep friends Sex in the city and all their never ending dross. MASH was intelligent humour and I dont know why they are happy turning out mundane uninteresting "humour" aka bull shot, when if they really try they can produce a really funny programme like MASH.
piratedjradio 1 year ago
@piratedjradio what about Seinfeld...just curious...there was pretty good stuff in the late 60's early 70's...when it was still ok to be silly and farcical. Now its all uber-hip and sarcastic.
