  • The ü is also in german (and turkey) and it's here pronounced exactly as you described :) The french "u" is pronounced like the german "ü". Nice tutorial, this helps for pronounciation even if you are more advanced in chinese. Thank you.

  • thank Yu ms. xiao qian im very interested, and learn some more,

and thanks to all chinese like you to share the educational what you haved

  • amazing videos!! one question in the beginning you said like da jiao hao.. or something like that.. what does that mean??

  • @rickschick777 "Da Jiao Hao" means Hi,everyone!Hao means good in Chinese

  • Very nice and understandable way of teaching Mandarin. Can you post video teaching how to remember Mandarin words as I find it really hard to remember every word. It would be perfect if you can help remember how to write the characters and the words, their meanings, etc.

  • @nuerqing To remember Chinese characters isn't easy for non-Chinese speakers, but when i was a child,i have no idea what the character means, just write it on the paper follow the direction of my Chinese teacher, thats boring, tedious experience.

  • Fantastic teaching ! Very sharp and neat pronunciation and excellent way of teaching. I wish if you can upload Basic and Survival Chinese videos too. This would be of great help to all.

  • Thank you, Xiao Qian.

  • what does 'bo' mean at 1:23?

  • i finally got how to pronounce "j" and "q" and that they are completely different thanks to "u". :D and yes i meant that "ju" and "qu" but of course, Thanks To U! XiaoQuian. :) XieXie.

  • You are the best language teacher. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • you are the best on youtube in teaching pronunciation. It help me to type Chinese using pinyin. Thanks a million.

  • The final vowel "i" can be pronounced differently, either "ee" as in "see" when with b,d,t,m,...; or "ir" as in "shirt" when it is with z,c,s, zh, ch, sh, and r.

And the number of the simple vowels should be 6, not 5 because the "U" (as in jU, QU, XU,YU) is the very one unique vowel in Mandarin Chinese, a completely different pronunciation from "u". "U" is so unique that it shouldn't be considered a variation of "u" as in "hu, bu, ...." However, a great lesson over all. Thanx
