Yes they have great skills but JUST BECAUSE they are Japanese does not make them better than American SF4 players. In fact the most favored player right now is from korea, not Japan.

I dont know why people think japanese are so much better than american players.

In multiple fighting games an american has goen to japan and placed really high. They just have drastically different playstyles.

it's been noted multiple times that japanese players possess exceptional skill. it may have something to do with capcom originating in Japan, or maybe that the Japanese are known to be very proficient when it comes to things that relate to electronics. americans are good, and some can own japanese but face it, there are not as many hardcore american gamers as much as there are japanese (okay, maybe there is in sheer numbers, but ratio wise from hardcore gamers to casual gamers, i doubt it).

this guy had a flexible and responsive defense and knew how to throw in some mix-up variables occasionally too. i feel bad that computers haven't been programmed to dominate this game like they have w/ chess. i bet a few programmers who were pro at this game could boil it all down and make something for people to train on that doesn't lag like online play.
