  • Never back down!!!

  • People are so hypocritical and full of shit they try and make up any excuse to kill innocent animals. And the most fucking stupid one they come up with is overpopulation. When the most overpopulated animals on the planet are humans! I don't see anyone banning people from having babies. Get off your ass government and ban it you have the power to but you don't because you are paid off.

  • he has a captians license other wise he wouldn't be able to register his vessel

  • I love this show! I really hope they return next year

  • paul watson is an idiot. he doesn't even have a captain's licence and he's calling himself captain.

  • Paul Watson is awesome!

  • Captain Watson is a brave man.

    You CANT defeat him.

  • lol yah he's awesome do you think there'll still be a chance to join sea shepherd in a few years?

  • the japs are researching on how they taste LOL

  • its pritty clear that they arnt doing any reserch on these whales =(

  • Captain Watson is un-fucking-stoppable!

  • That's good. I am just starting to get into this show.

  • good, it's time people recognize the sacrifice they are making to save an endangered species. There's no need for them to kill whales to conduct "research"

  • how dare they raid the steve irwin

  • dam right the Steve Irwin should be aloud in Aussie waters its Australians peoples voice against whaling the government won't stand up for You !

  • hell paul you have the steve irwin, the fawrly mowat, and you getting a new one take them all down there

  • Death on those motherfucking monkeys!

All Japs should be locked in gas chambers

hope they die all in a giant eartquake

next time I meet a bloody monkey tourist in my town, I'll smash his camera to pieces on his head

    :)

  • Maybe the world should start harpooning jap tourists for research?

  • Maybe you shouldn't say things like that, not all of us japanese people harpoon whales, however i do, it is my job, i need it to provide for my family.

  • It is rather enjoyable however, watching the harpoon successfully rip into the flesh of a young whale.

  • Well it sounds like your a lost cause -JandBriggs.

While I dont condone killing any whales , I can understand people do jobs like this because they are TOO UNEDUCATED to do other good paying jobs. But to say you "its rather enjoyable however, watching the harpoon successfully rip into the flesh of a young whale"

This statement makes you look not only uneducated, but a sick deadshit of a indivdual

  • JandBriggs - REAL research can be conducted on LIVE whales, including what they eat-their faeces can be collected from the oceans.Other research is conducted from Byron Bay each yr on LIVE whales!!!

  • and to continue on your comment,

the poster are in english.why not their own language, japanese?

and the writing on side of boat, english too.

    why not japanese?

  • JandBriggs Maybe you should get another job!!!!

  • JandBriggs -You're one sick bastard! Go and get a proper job instead of killing these beautiful creatures! Real research uses LIVE whales! There's also a high mercury content in whales-not good to eat, certainly dangerous for kids canteens in Japan?

  • lol

  • they called a ship Steve Irwin and a American is the captain lmfao

  • Actually Paul is Canadian... and the ship is named the Steve Irwin as its an Australian based ship operating an australian campaign for australian whales that Steve wanted protected and operated by over 50% australian crew.

I don't see whats so funny... especially when Steve himself was more popular in USA and a good friend of Pauls.

Do you even know how it got that name? Steve was ment to go on it when it was called the Robert hunter but died just before the campaign.

  • no Steve Irwin was just as popular here and im sure Steve wouldn't of attacked and rammed them like a moron like this ugly fuck

    Australian whales??? lol

  • sorry to say but the crew of that ship are terrorists

  • ah ha... well I guess Steve Irwin is a terrorist too then... and Terry Irwin who is the godmother of the ship and opened it. Oh and Ian Campbell howards enviromental minister, bob brown, Richard Dean Anderson, Martin sheen, Christian Bale (batman), Daryl Hannah, Peter Garrett, Pierce Brosnan, the Dutch government.. oh and the Dalai Lama.

Quote Steve Irwin "give them hell paul"

Now do you know the reason why this australian based ship is named after an australian? or are you still lost?

  • lmfao are you trying to say that Steve irwin encouraged this moron to endanger lives lol you fool

Terry Irwin who is the godmother of the ship lol

oh i forgot you animal nuts don't care about human life just other animals

and will blowup shit to just save some animals but kill people in the in process

  • You're just another typical moron who's mind is too small to understand that we as humans are quite capable of not only taking care of ourselves, but destroying everyone and everything on the planet. Animals cannot fight back against the devistation humans cause. We are already responsible for sending alot of animals to extinction. If we don't do something now, then we will be responsible for losing even more.

  • no you are the moron i guess its ok to kill some one?

you miss the fact that what they are doing is wrong and whaling is wrong to

  • Not to mention that the needless slaughter is unecessary. There is so much food that is wasted and destroyed around the world, daily... This food could be given to feed the poor, but it isn't. Instead, countries like Japan are killing whales instead of making use of the billions of dollars worth of wasted food, even though there are all these starving children in the world. What about you? Do you give a shit about the starving children in the world?

  • yes i do and i give to needy groups to

  • Paul would not take a leaking ship that could harm the oceans out to sea. The whalers would though, because they don't care about animal welfare or the environment.

  • mate you can say all you like... the bottom line is Terry christened the ship and Steve did announce he was going on the 2007/08 campaign, who just so happened to be best friends with Paul.

It was announced publically and you can't possible deny that.

But anyway that is why it is named the Steve Irwin. Its stationed here, crewed by mostly Australians, to protect whales that migrate into AUS waters and the AUS Antarctic EEZ and to continue under the name Steve Irwin as he couldn't make it

  • lmfao Steve thought everyone was his best mate anyway i just made a point thats all i dont think steve would of been into endangering peoples lives

  • well he was coming out on the campaign... and said he supported paul and his doings for the past 30 years.

    Thats a fact.

I guess his a terrorist too, according to your criteria.

  • lol i didnt say that just coz supported him doesn't mean he agrees with him in every way

  • well the fact is there mate.

anyway it doesn't really matter anyway... the real issue here is whaling

  • I just read this and thought you might want to see it.

Go to google news and search "Praise for Bindi Irwin's debut in Free Willy 4"

There will be only one result, click it and you get to see a great big picture of Terry Irwin wearing a Sea Shepherd tshirt.

  • dude what is your point? if you think Steve Irwin supports violence and endangering lives that's you

  • he doesn't support "violence and endagering lives" but if you say SSCS does just that.... well I guess he supports that type. So you can either say the Irwins support a violent organisation or you can say Irwins support a conservation society. Either way it doesn't matter cause they did and continuing to support Paul, including donations from their Zoo.

Good on Terry for spreading the message which Steve wanted to by wearing SSCS clothes to a movie press conference.

  • I am just merely proving my point that Steve Irwin supported this organisation which you tried denying at the start when refering to how it got its name.

Random Fact: Steve wanted a "can opener" on the side, but Paul decided not to put one on their because its ATS zone and needs protecting. Seems Steve had more extreme views then Paul...

  • lol ok a man that has been known for being just a really nice guy is going to go ram ships ok whatever dude

also i never said he didnt support the group im saying that he wouldn't of been a fuckhead about it like paul aka *ugly troll if you look back at the comments you will see where you messed up pfft you are just going around and around in ya head

anyway after all this whale talk i wouldn't mined trying some whale meat

    cya take care mate

  • lol...

well at least now you know why this Australain based SSCS ship is called the Steve Irwin and that Paul isn't american like your first comment said.

  • Every living thing on the planet has it's own role to play in keeping the chain of life balanced. Were destroying the chain and people like you need to wake up to yourself and realise that we need to keep these animals alive so that they can continue their part in keeping things balanced because were part of that chain as well... it will effect us all.

  • i get what your saying but going around the sea in a ship that leeks crap into it isnt doing much at all

  • Where is the evidence that the sea shepherd is "leaking crap" into the sea? The Japanese whaling ships are the ones that are leaking shit into the sea because they illegally refule in the sea!

  • UNCLOS Part XII, PROTECTON AND PRESERVATION OF THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT, Article 224 nor any other articles before or after says it is okay to abuse the Antarctic Treaty with the usage of any military grade weapons in the hands of military personnel in civilian ships by a nation who is about to loose its grassroots of pacifism.

  • I'm sorry, I failed to find a legal description of alleged illegal activity by Japan in that collection of dribble you posted.

Get you facts straight honey, Article 224 of UNCLOS prohibits NGO's such as Sea Shepherd from attempting to enforce international law. Like it or not, the law is the law. If you REALLY have evidence Japan is violating UNCLOS then cite the article!

  • Guys like mashedbrains01 there just can't stand people who actually care for living things & act on their behalf, that's his bent. Perhaps on top of that he's hired by the ICR. Sea Shepherd earns his wrath because it is actually effective in disrupting Japan's Unit 731 voyages to the antarctic, where whales endure more torture than those poor Aussies & American POWs did in WW2, as horrible as that was. Watson is courageous and the wave of the future, helping our environment. Shame on Japan.

  • Of course you don't have time for this, that would require you to do your research and present verifiable sources to support the assertions you are presenting as facts. God forbid you actually lend credibility to your statements!

  • hmm strange your comments seemed to of triggered the internal Youtube spam funtion. You been placing that same paragraph on other videos too?

LOL think what you want... but just make sure you click refresh a few times, I need a higer view count.

  • LOL, again, your silence on the issue is deafening.

Funny how, when faced with clearly written international law, you choose to ramble on about spam filters and view counts. A typical response of someone who has no idea what he is talking about!

Thank you for giving me the pleasure of schooling you; it was quite enlightening . . . for you.

  • ah ha is that right...

  • Indeed, your silence is deafening when faced wtih verifiable facts.

  • Thats because when I asked you for viable justification why Sea Shepherd is acting illegally, you ignored the question. So really I am not going to waste my time for someone not willing to discuss all aspects of this.

You also ignored the fact about Japan not meeting the requirments of the Scientic Research protocol. in regards to peer reviewed papers and a detailsed analysis of their program. Yet you say th IWC is who they are acting under? yet they don't meet requirments?

  • Sorry I seem to have missed your question; perhaps you asked it under one of your other profile names?

Sea Shepherds actions of ramming whaling vessels falls under the definition of piracy under UNCLOS article 101.

For almost a week, you have failed to identify what IWC regulations Japan is failing to meet with regards to its scientific research program. Come on now, resolution #???

Do your part, and I'll be happy to do mine, as always.

  • From Japan's MOFA: "Sampling surveys are essential for (a) estimation of such biological parameters as age composition, sexual maturity and pregnancy rate required for stock assessment of whales, and (b) elucidation of the roles of whales, prey-predator relationship between whales and their food sources etc., in various marine ecosystems."

All it takes is common sense to realize there is no "research" being done when you harpoon, drag onboard, kill and immediately process a whale.

  • All it takes is literacy to realize that Sea Shepherd's actions are not legal.

Speaking of common sense, to "harpoon, drag onboard, [and] kill" makes sense when conducting lethal research on whales. In addition, given that the ICRW requires whales that are killed to be processed (rather than wasted), it makes sense to begin the processing immediately after death.

  • mashed: Perhaps, since you are so learned, you can explain the term 'lethal research'.

  • Really? The term "lethal research" is not self explanatory? Do you really need someone to tell you that lethal research is when the subject of the research is killed in the course of the research or are you just running out of hot air?

  • My point is: What kind of research can they be performing with such an expeditious kill and processing?

  • Cut out the parts you need for research and package the rest; I don't see how doing this expeditiously prevents research from being done. Given that the purpose of the research and the ICRW is to ensure sustainable whaling, I am not overyly concerned that the research involves lethal means when it comes to the non-endangered minke whales. I do think; however, that Japan should use more discretion in regards to threatened or endangered species such as fin and humpback whales.

  • mashed:with a yearly stated quota of 1000 (plus, because let's face it, no one's policing their take) minke whales, you don't think Japan could be, singlehandly, sending that whale species toward levels that will necessitate protection in the future? The Japanese Ministry says they want to find out what the whales are eating. After 22+yrs of "research", they still don't know? How can they claim wanting to ensure sustainable whaling when they are annihilating the very species they want to sustain?

  • Bear with me, this is a long answer. According to the IUCN, in the year 2000, the Common Minke Whale population was approximately 182,000, the Fin Whale population was approx. 53,000, and, in 2004, the Humpback population was approx. 60,000. Currently more information is needed by the to determine an accurate estimate for the Antarctic Minke Whale population; however, the scientific community has assessed that the population is at least in the hundreds of thousands.

  • Currently more information is needed by the to determine an accurate estimate for the Antarctic Minke Whale population?????

So japs will kill another thousand whales to research this? & then thousands of little dick japs will eat research?

  • and in the process money the volumes of which would blow your narrow mind will be transacted. :)

  • The JARPA II sample proposals include 850 +/- 10% Antartic Minke Whales, 50 Humpback Whales, and 50 Fin Whales per season. When compared to the IUCN population estimates (assuming Antarctic Minke Whales populations are no greater than Common Minke Whales and 0% growth since the population estimates were made, both conservative assumptions), this equates to killing 0.46% of the Antarctic Minke Whale population, 0.10% of the Fin Whale population, and 0.083% of the Humpback Whale pop. per season.

  • After reviewing the IUCNs data, a conservative average annual growth rate for these species is about 3%. All things being equal, JARPA II will not result in the extinction of any one of these species. I can; however, understand the concern in regards to the Endangered Fin Whale and would even support pressuring Japan to lay off this species using legal avenues. I have less concern for the Minke and Humpback; neither of which are classified as endangered or threatened.

  • I think your concerns are genuine and you asked a great question. Given the basic poplation data of each species being targeted by Japan, JARPA II's quotas, and the average growth rates of these populations, I don't think Japan's research whaling will cause a population decrease necessitating protection in the future.

  • ITS NOT RESEARCH!!!

  • harpoon, drag onboard, [and] kill" makes no sense and also makes this actions illegal when asked not to conduct a lethal research on whales by the IWC in every meeting year after year.

  • This comment show you ignorance of international law. There is no legal requirement for any country to abide by the content of an IWC non-binding resolution.

  • So you can focus on a particaler part of the IWC or whatever you say, but there is more to and really I can be bothered anymore.

You clearly have your mind set and I've been down this track several times with several users, which turned out to be mainly one anyway.

and tell ya spamming friend below he doesn't have to spam videos to get an opinion across.

  • I hear nothing.............. ? In regard to the claims of violence to enforce a belief. Safety records are an acknowledgement of risk. Thank you. Ps I'll be Blocked!.

  • I hear an echo..

  • A program to educate children about the importance of the relationship between the living sea and the environment must never include violence.

  • All I should say is Japan is so eco-terrorist.

  • The whaling ships are helping whales. they are killing whales but only ones on a check list. and they are not killing enough of some. how can endangered whale's like the humpback whale ever come back when their is not enough food fore them because of overpopulation or other species of whales.

The us goverment kills around 200 to 500 whals a year to help overpopulation. but they do not also make money off them like japan. And Shepherd is ok with it. WTF !

  • this has to be the funniest justifcation yet.... first Japan hunts endangered Sperm in the north and endangered Fin in the Antarctic. They are not hunting theses minke and endangered species to save humpbacks, beause they humpbacks are not listed as endangered. To your criteria they should be hunting just Minke, but they are not... and whales are hardly over populated. On average there is 5% remaining whale numbers of ALL species (some way below like Fin and Blue) before commerial whaling began.

  • Suprise suprise, the anti whaling messages are marked as spam and 'mashpotatoes" aren't.

We don't feel the need to mark yours down, wonder why ohers feel the need to mark ours as spam? and even possibly yourself?

I'll just unspam these with a single click.

  • i reckon it is because we even understand a mashedpotatoforbrains has the right to live on this planet as we see it.

  • Funny, the quality of the comments and repeated use of profanity and personal attacks by anti-whalers towards anybody who either disagrees or even dares to questions their beleifs fail to reflect your characterization of the group. But hey, what do the facts matter when you're an anti-whaler, right?

  • Comment removed

  • whale meat contains mercury. why would you want your Japanese friends to poison themselves? have a heart!

  • Scientific research (from JARPA ironically) has discovered that whales in the southern ocean contain low levels of contaminants and far less than their counterparts in the Northern Hemisphere. If you are so concerned about the Japanese people ingesting mercury, then why don't you support sustainable whaling in the Southern Oceans? Have a heart!

  • Japan just realized what a terrible position their country is in.

The protagonists for the Japanese nationalist movement need to create an air of disquiet and fear in order to further their political agenda.

They have jumped onto this issue, but they don't represent much.

  • congratulation, for your activity!!! have my best wishes!! pier

  • The Japanese whaling fleet supply ship Oriental Bluebird has been de-flagged and fined by the Panamanian Registry after being found guilty of:

Using the ship for purposes it was not licensed for (i.e. carrying whale meat rather than oil)

Violating the MARPOL convention (a treaty designed to eliminate the deliberate, negligent or accidental release of oil and other harmful substances from ships into the marine environment) after illegally re-fuelling whaling vessels in Antarctic waters.

  • Japan's 8 million dollars worth 'anti anti-whaler fund' is at work, all funded by good old Japanese ta payers.

One Good thing thanks to MashedChrood this video has extra 100 views.

  • It seems to me mashedbtains lives in a poor country and is paid Yens and fed mercurywhalemeat by japanese...

he shows us all that eating whale meat makes one go crazy...

  • Correct Mashedpotatoe01 is part of the Japanese whaling (Internet) department.

He will write anything that he thinks will help Japans case legally and has done so under various aliases for years now.

He is part of the group with Propaganda Buster in it. They tell PB what to say and think, though mashedbtains is doing this for personal reasons all be it competitive pride

Don't worry. They are riding in a rudderless.

They are trying to undermine the law, whilst adjudicating it. ship

  • I blocked them. peabuster and his tokyo rose clan.

they are such idiots, i find. (and i believe many more find that too)...

calling sea shepherd ''terrorists'' while they try to save life and have their HQ in Washington.

I really hope Obama will change the law bush made to call people ''terrorists'' who fight for life! What certain governments do is sheer terror! 340.000 tons of depleted uranium is shot in Iraq! Now that is an example of pure terror!

  • From the American Heritage Dictionary:

Terrorism - The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

So where is the confusion? The philosophy of "follow our demands or we will ram you ship" appears to fit that definition quite nicely.

  • Wow, your clairvoyance is amazing. If these are the skills you are using to develop you case against Japanese whaling then its not wonder why you've been struggling so much.

You may continue to use your "psycic powers" to develop your case; I, on the other hand, will continue to base my case on international law. Feel free to check my facts; that's why I often provide sources.

Rudderless? Please, you're not exactly "manning the ship with all hands" if you know what I mean.

  • No I don't know what you mean. Nobody does. That's the problem. You seem to think you can win a legal battle by spaming You Tube with lies...

  • Funny, since I have proven the vast majority of your sides positions to be lies or gross misrepresentations of the laws. Like I said, I've provided my sources for any objective party to references. Where are yours? If you were truly correct in your assertions, you wouldn't be so desperate as to resort to personal attacks and wild accusations. What are you afraid of, the general public learning the truth? Keep it coming buddy! The more junk you throw out there, the less people believe you!

  • I know you.

"If you can't beat them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit"

  • The Sea Shepherd "Conservation" Society motto!

  • "If you can't beat them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit"

I believe this describes MashedPatatoes01 fair enough.

  • Sums up all the bogus efforts behind whaling

  • mashedpotatoeforbrains, go and sulk with peabuster.

  • LOL, and I'm sure the anti-wahling groups has spent nothing but goodwill to advance their agenda? Please, your arguments are as empty as your mind.

  • Japanese whaling is a completely legal research under ICRW.

*ICRW: International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling

Now racist Australian should face this fact.

  • you seem to miss out alot of facts there. Not only did you fail at proving a point you also failed to justify it. IWC does not set quota for scientic reaearch the nation does. Even tho IWC allows research whaling it does not mean it voids ATS, hunting of pregannat whales ands calves, CITES, UNendangered species act, charter of the sea

You also failed to mention Japan does not meet the scientic research critieria, with only 4 peer reviewed papers subbitted to the IWC over the past 40 years.

  • Comment removed

  • hmmm enviromental reports for their visits to ATS zone is where? hmmm how much guts and blood do they pump into the waters of antarctica? oh they do mid sea refuelings and already one of their ships was charged and deflag and yet they sent it again!?

Hmmm already proven in court... "Japanese whaling does not violate the ATS"... the internaitonal court says yes and will say yes again when they are yet again taken to court for a repeat offense for sending the oriential bluebird again.

  • Hmmm, last time I checked blood and guts are biodegradable. I suppose you want to charge sharks and other sea predators for violating the ATS as well? An explosion and fire on a factory ship in 2007 resulted in some pollution yes; however, call it a gut feeling, buy I'm fairly sure fires and explosions on board japanese whaling ships are not part of their standard operating procedures. If you lend credibility to your claims then state which international court prosecuted them and your source.

  • Here, perhaps I can help you out since you appear to be research impaired. The Oriental Bluebird, a ship flying under the Panamanian flag, was charged by a Panamanian court (i.e. NOT an international court) with "failure to comply with Panama's (NOT international) whale protection policies."

Source: Report of the Canaberra Panel, 1/12/09.

So I ask you once again, what international court has convicted Japanese whalers of violating the ATS???

    Good luck!

  • Ah ha well tell that to the 40 nations who outlined the lawsuit not me.

ATS meeting has not met yet since the report was placed forward. So be patient.

  • to refuel ships at sea in the area protected under the treaty is a violation of the Antarctic treaty.

  • Applicable articles of the Antartic Treaty an MARPOL please?

  • Applicable articles of the Antartic Treaty an MARPOL to explain why refueling is no concern and never applies to poachers but only applies to the Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd.

What kind of a LAW do they obey and not refuel in the Antarctic Ocean? Please Please be my guest, you go first.

  • Come on Miley, I thought you were better than that:

You stated "to refuel ships at sea in the area protected under the treaty is a violation of the Antarctic treaty. "

In addition, you accused this action of violating MARPOL.

I'm not accusing you of making it up; I'd simply like to be able to read the applicable articles myself so that I can educate myself.

Surely if you know your assertions to be factual you can accomodate this simple request. Have I not always done the same?

  • hey mashedpotatoforbrains, you talk about terrorism as if you understand what the word means.

    you love Japan?

    2 atomic bombs....

Just think about terrorism... pea for brains.

  • Come on Mashedpotatoe01 you are better than to support a lost cause.

Surely I know my averments are factual and accommodate (with double M's) the Antarctic treaty, a treaty that some poaching nations signed without even reading it.

  • Funny, so rather than take a couple of seconds to provide the information that supports your assertions, you choose to point out a typo. Well, I suppose that about sums up the credibility of your argument!

Anybody can cite the name of a treaty. If you can't cite the applicable articles then you obviously have failed to conduct your due dilligence and do not have the credibility or the information neccessary to use these treaties to support your case.

    Very disappointing (with double P's).

  • If you are going to assert that Japan has not met the IWC's scientific research criteria, then you must provide the relevant IWC regulations that support your claim. Otherwise, this claim has no credibility.

  • Its also not suprising your YT profile is blank, probably already spoken to you several times.

or all the other people who create insultive accounts against me. Like "fuckfred446" etc.

Its a comon theme with pro whalers.... don't know why exactly, maybe you can tell me. Never or less unlike them, I don't need mulitiple accounts to get my message across.

  • WOW! What are you, a Paul Watson wannabe? Talk about stroking your own ego! Sorry, but I didn't grow up in the MySpace generation where people spend half the day making their homepage look pretty for their virtual "friends." I prefer to base my case on substance rather than style; something you may want to learn how to do.

You're right on one thing, you don't need multiple accounts to get your message across. You simply need a rational message!

  • yea thats what they all say. Sorry but unfortantly the pro whaling group on Youtube has been sterotyped that way and you can't deny that.

and once again I say "I wouldn't be surprised".

  • Wow, a group that has been "sterotyped" by the very opposition group pointing out the existence of a sterotype. You REALLY have a lot to learn regarding credibility!

  • Explain that in English please

  • You seem to miss out on a lot of facts here.

    1. ReflectiaX did not state or infer that the IWC sets a quota for scientific research. You simply invalidated an argument which you yourself introduced.

    2. Japanese whaling does not violate the ATS, CITES, or other Intenational Conventions of appropriate jurisdiction, thus, your comments regarding the relative priority of those various legal documents is irrelevant. If you contest this, the onus is on you to cite the applicable treaty articles.

  • and once again like the person above you fail to mention what is manitory when you conduct research whaling and that it does not override all the other IWC regulations regarding mothers, calves and endangered species.

some just say "they don't have to follow it as the IWC is no law binding" well who is to say the research whaling is "not binding". Many pro whalers have double standards

not to mention Japan, the one who does not recogise AUS EEZ ask Aus Gov to charge SS who is dutch

  • And once again you failed to cite a relevant IWC regulation that would support your claim that Japan has "failed to meet [IWC] scientific research criteria." What's the matter, having a hard time finding evidence to support your claim? Looks like you failed that challenge!

Here is a quote for you from the IWC website: the right of a member nation to issue a scientific whaling permit "overrides any other Commission regulations including the moratorium and sanctuaries."

  • BTW, for you personal education, Japan and the vast majority of the international community, do not recognize Australia's claims to the ANTARCTICAN EEZ where Japan is whaling. Learn the law buddy!

  • I know about the ATS EEZ and who recogises them nd so wat, thats why I never said EEZ, rather I said near the austrlaian border, which it is. Australias whale watching industry makes their money off the whales that are corrent;y in Antarctica and infct spemnd more time in Australian waters then in ATS.

  • Ummm, you do realize that your original post is right above this and everybody can read it ? Just in case you somehow can't read your own posting 6 inches away from this one, you stated:

"not to mention Japan, the one who does not recogise AUS EEZ ask Aus Gov to charge SS who is dutch ."

Now granted your grammar is terrible and it is barely a coherent sentece; however, it is quite clear that you specifically referred to Japan's recognition of the Aus. EEZ which Japan has not violated.

  • I also stand by this comemnt: "not to mention Japan, the one who does not recogise Aus EEZ ask Aus Gov to charge SS who is dutch and mad eup a a crew from multiple countries".

You seem to think you can 'win' this legal argument on the net. So I am interested in what you think of Sea Shepherd? and why Japan failed several times in the international court? and interpol with the warrents?

  • Did you know people who call people racist with no fact, are in fact racist towards that person? thats what racism is maybe you should rssearch that before making a total idoit of yourself.

Lets see what happens if I go to the Japanese border and take their bluefin tuna and then call them racist for trying to stop me. How do you think that will go?

  • Comment removed

  • One last thing, calling Antarctican waters the Australian border is like calling the Artic Sea Japan's border. Japan is whaling in international waters; Austrailia's claims to the Antarctic EEZ are not recognized by the vast majority of the international community; thus Australia has no jurisdiction in that region under international law.

You may want to take the time to read up on some of the applicable laws next time.

  • So long as the are cleared I am happy. It will make it much harder to lodge frivolous claims against them, and the Federal police will have a better standard of proof should they go after the Japanese.

  • Love sea shepherd!

  • Captain Watson, clearly the pressure is on the Japanese whalers--they have been exposed for the ruthless killers of ocean wildllife that they are!

Minister Rudd, this retaliatory act on behalf fo the whaler killers WILL backfire in your face!

  • Yes, the Australian police is interfering into the matters of other governments. This must be against the international law. Why are most officials on the side of the Australian police? My guess is because they are bribed and they don't want to take sides because it might make them "look bad". It's corruption.

  • What ever it takes!!! Keep it up Sea Shepherd!!!!

  • It's inaction on the part of governments that are too slow to act that causes stuff like this. If they acted appropriately groups like Sea Shepherd wouldn't feel the need to take matters into their own hands. I don't care for Sea Shepherd and I care even less for their methods of doing things, but atleast they are acting to fix the problem. If the governments didn't act so impotent it wouldn't be necessary. Remember the old saying: There's a time for talking and there's time for acting.

  • It is the big lie to call the whaling fleet "Japanese whalers".

    They are delegation of IWC.

So SS attacks the fleet sent by the world organization.

It is surprising that the Australian people overlook the Seashepherd crime on the sea.

They don't allow IWC to kill whales, which are abundant these days.

And also, it is surprising that Australian kill the sharks...I think sharks are also important sea creatures.

  • For CheeChyeChimpo: 1) Just because a law has been established does not mean that this law is ethical and without loop holes. 2) Just because the sharks or other animals are at risk does not make the whale issue less important.

  • Sea Shepherd also thinks sharks are important animals. If you missed Sharkwater in the theatres, rent it. Sea Shepherd in no way limits their conservation efforts to whales.

  • I believe that it is not in favour of whalers to go into a court. Whaling fleets know the World is watching and that the shit they do is dreadfully wrong. When-will whalers ever learn this 100% fact?

It will be great to see new Sea Shepherd on water and causing more difficulties for these whalers.

Great video Fred, thank you for posting, well done...

  • Great work Fred.

  • I don't think the Japanese want anything to go into a court battle, Might not end well for them.

Keep up the great work fred...

  • Japan's ILLEGAL whaling must be stopped!!! Japan is so afraid that their vicious murders on videotape will be seen by the public!!

  • So when did Japan start this so called cultural tradition of harvesting whales in the Southern Ocean?

  • Whale meat contains mercury.

It is criminal that the Japanese government poisons its own people.

    What is scientific about that?

  • youdubr's actual comment: "Killing one whale is wrong!!!!!!!There`s no reason for it.Your a barbaric caveman.Take your medication.." So who is really the Troll around here?

  • Oh boy, I get two losers for the price of one! I see you still haven't learned anything from UNCLOS or the ICRW; did you need to find someone to read them to you? Maybe the words were just too big for you? You'd be a lot more amusing if you knew anything about whaling and international law but apparently you'd rather talk about little boys. So sad.
