Driver with the camera should have moved. As an abnormal load driver (20 years) that for 5 years has employed 8 good drivers, this wasn't that tight! But yeah - wrong way in a one way is only way sometimes. Experienced driver would have gone wider (closer to wall) and got rear onto the pavement to cut closer on 1st attempt. Looks like only 6 to 8 tons on board so must have been a new guy. Prob carrying girls hankies!

Your not supposed to reverse into this yard, drivers delivering on behalf of tescos are given risk assesments explaining this. stobart drivers pulling stobart trailers are not the yardman should have told the driver the procedure instead of letting him struggle.
How do stores get planning permission to operate when they clearly have access problems? Enjoyed the video as these truck drivers amaze me with their reversing skills. I don't know how they cope with it sometimes because they don't get much help from road planners or other road users. @Elroy - yep; I do drive artics. I see exactly what you mean. From the clip by the idiot driver filming it, i wasn't quite sure if the entrance in was at 90 degrees to the road or at an angle. I haven't been there but if it is then you are correct. It looks a bit nasty but the guy did a great job.

I'm an HGV driver too and can't understand why he drove the wrong way up a one way street to get in there. Would it not have been easier to drive down the street and just reverse in..? Just s thought... but job well done.

@hardit359 Do you drive an artic though? I think you prolly don't as you would realise the why he drove up that way is so he can reverse in on his goodside rather than blind. He would have found it much easier had the cameraman not been parked where he was.

For a big 6x2 that weren't too shabby, Tescos little 4x2 Axors go round much easier. And as for going the wrong way, thats only Tescos one way system for the public, there's alot of stores where the risk assesment tells you to do that.

Bear in mind they may have authority to do that manouvre, ever thought of that, remember all you non LGV drivers, coming in the right way would leave him blindside, rednop, yes he'd have his eyes closed, quite literally as good as. Your not supposed to reverse into this yard, drivers delivering on behalf of tescos are given risk assesments explaining this. stobart drivers pulling stobart trailers are not the yardman should have told the driver the procedure instead of letting him struggle.

How do stores get planning permission to operate when they clearly have access problems? Enjoyed the video as these truck drivers amaze me with their reversing skills. I don't know how they cope with it sometimes because they don't get much help from road planners or other road users. In this instance though I am puzzled as to why the truck didn't approach in the correct direction and reverse in.
