The bad thing about Triton is that he always puts his hang ups off on everyone else. In the first movie he tried to keep Ariel away from humans because he didn't like them and in this one he banns music because it reminds him of Athena. And he doesn't seem to let them do anything thats fun. Like because he's miserable everyone else has to be

But he can be loveable once you get past the thick syrupy stubbornness and stick of doom.
