  • Lets appreciate the the belts of every singer lol we look really pathetic when we argue about shit like this. im guilty of it myself...

  • Some people just really love to start unnecessary controversy. Let's rise above that and have a more productive conversation, like: Who's excited for the new album?! :D

  • legend

  • what song does she sing at 2.19 ?

  • I don't see how that's a problem if her voice indeed "thins". It still sounds great. It gives songs of her's more character and more of an edge, not to mention makes her belts more chilling.

  • @jm423 If you dont see why its a problem ou have no clue what you are talking about

  • @moroney1 Umm... Leave me alone. I'm expressing my opinion. If it bothers you, then get over it. I don't need people trying to criticize and analyze me.

  • @jm423 Exactly again the problem, its your opinion, when discussions about singing technique are meant to be objective, not emotive or subjective. You missed the point completely. A thinning voice means she isnt ressonating and thus cannot be considered a world class singer since such a constant flaw and ignorance about technique wouldnt even render her a good singer in a local choir. She is completely over rated

  • @moroney1 You crossed the line when you said "i didn't know what I was talking about". I don't appreciate you insulting me, and then trying to make it seem like I'm the one with the problem. The only problem is people like you who worry about insiginifcant things like Christina's voice, which won't put food on your table anytime soon, and then when others have an opinion different than yours, you make it seem like they are ignorant.

  • @moroney1 If Christina is overrated, then you wouldn't be on this video trying to play vocal expert. If someone is overrated, then I don't pay them any attention. Once again, LEAVE ME ALONE. Try to correct someone's opinion who gives a damn. Go to the hateful people and correct them if you really want to prove you know what you're talking about.

  • @jm423 You havent a clue what you are talking about, learn the difference between subjective and objective

  • @moroney1 Says the person who has attacked several people for their personal opinions!!!! Have several seats! And leave me the hell alone.

  • Song first played?

  • i just gotta say wow! she always do the best!!!

  • @scanned I'm sure you think so and that is up to personal opinion however I feel as though saying she is on xtinas lvl is like putting Rihanna on whitney's lvl and it is not so.

  • @Hyperionv12 Nicole Scherzinger actually sings better than Christina, but she doesn't have the same reputation as Christina, and clearly Christina is a legend but Nicole definitely has a superior technique. But it's all person preference like you said.

  • @Jared95C nicola has certainely a better technique but she's far from having a better voice

  • Wow the comments are entertaining it's funny... One guy mentions Nicole shcerzinger or how ever u spell her name.... Wow we all know he cannot sing I'm an avid xtina fan and sometimes she's messes up she's not perfect however I love her voice I mean beyoncé falls down stairs and ppl still like her clumsy ass and she lip-syncs too they All do news flash when u can sing u cant always sing your hardest and burn out your voice...

  • @Hyperionv12 nicole scherzinger definitely can sing. in fact, she's pretty similar to xtina vocally.

  • THAT F5 U MARKED IN THE SO EMOTIONAL PERFORMANCE IS AN E5 AND THE LAST ONE IS AN F#5

  • She killed all them TRL performances from 99 singing So Emotional...them riffs was killer...

  • She basically needs to scream "ya ya" and do ascendent runs to sound decent though still strained on notes most singer can easily SING. 6 minutes of ya ya's LOL WTF and where's her vibrato? not to mention her voice is DEAD past E5.

  • I love her so much!

  • She can't hold those 5th octave belts because she pulls her larynx up. It's not healthy.

  • @rekupp yes! this! watch singers like beyonce or nicole scherzinger. they have a healthier technique and can hold the notes much longer

  • 2:22 ??????????

  • @TheFanEntertainment it is call "Back in the Day from the Back to Basics album hope this helps Christina Aguilera is amazing and she does not straining all the haters who say she is straining have nerve heard straining before go listen to Regine Velasquez thats straining and screaming.

  • @mariahthebest1 I'm sorry but you have no clue what your talking about. Christina aguilera DOES strain and there is A LOT of evidence to prove it!

  • Damn! I used to spend so much time watching videos like this of Christina and comparison videos of her against other singers (i got into a lot of crazy arguments on those lol), but this is the first one i've watched in ages. She's still my favourite dirrty diva.

  • i LOVE the Dirrty note from the tour.

  • i HATE it when bitches/assholes says its straining when we all know that its the RAWNESS in her singing that its so awesome!!! :D

  • she's powerfull in every register haters like to say she thins after e5 but is just because they can't seem to find a reason not love christina's voice so they invent them

  • And Christina does both mixing and belting AWESOMELY. :)

  • Both mixing and belting are great! :)

  • which vid is the oh mother peformance from ??

  • the last video is anf F#5

  • she just does it for me vocally!!! She has something special about her voice, I don't know what it is but when she sings is just stops you in your tracks..and you know you will never hear a voice like this ever again

  • A melhor cantora do mundo ♥

  • This row is getting silly. Every voice thins when the pitch raises. Christina would brake the laws of physics if her voice did the contrary :)

I suppose ppl underneath ment that Christina can't sustain chest notes after certain point (the upper extremes of her range). Well, her range is impressive anyways.

  • @sandrakeller2 Not true. Aretha's voice doesn't thin, neither does Mariah's, Patti's, Beyonce's, or Whitney's.

  • every voice thins. Only difference is that Christina's comfort range ends lower than Patti's or Aretha's (in her prime). There she has to either mix (which sounds weak) or crack (which sounds wack). Ok, this rhyme was stupid :)

As for the other 3 ladies, their chest range ends at similar point . If there's a difference, it's very slight.

  • @sandrakeller2 Mixing doesn't sound weak. It only sounds weak if done improperly.

  • Mixing is always weaker than belting...

  • @sandrakeller2 Um, no it's not. The point of mixing is to MAINTAIN resonance, not lose it. If a singer is losing power when mixing, then they're not doing it correctly.

  • Part of your response is accurate. The point of mixing is to maintain as much power as possible while hitting notes you wouldn't be able to sustain in chest/belting. The thing for you to understand is that in terms of volume

    belting>mixing>head voice

    HAPPY NEW YEAR :)

  • @sandrakeller2 Not necessarily. In terms of vocal weight, yes. In terms of volume, no. In classical music, the head voice can be just as voluminous as the chest voice.

    And happy new year!!!!

  • It doesn't "seem" to thin, it DOES thin. Her belted notes up to D5 are well-supported. Anything after is not.

  • which country was that 'oh mother' performance in???

  • She's simply the best!!!

  • christina sounded her best on the B2B tour, even though she was pregnant!

  • i understand where people are coming from when they say her voice gets "thinner" or whatevr, but i really couldnt care less. im addicted to all of her runs riffs and belts. im addicted to her voice in general. actually im addicted to her in general.

    CHRISTINA FOREVER!!!

  • @Jessikia527 That your rediculous comment gets the most thumbs up really highlights the lunacy and ignorance of this video

  • @moroney1 1. Ignorance? You don't know me or my level of knowledge. 2. Lunacy? Maybe, but normality and sanity can be boring. 3. Why are you even here if you don't agree with this video? The fact that you're here really highlights the fact that you need to do something with your life other than post negative comments on videos you don't like. Surely that's not fun or productive... Have a nice day ;)

  • @Jessikia527 This is a comment section, not a praise section. IF I do not like her straining I can state that. And yes I can call you ignorant in terms of vocal knowledge when you couldnt care less that what you deem as good is an amatuer vocal.

  • @moroney1 My point is, if you don't like her straining, why watch an entire video of it? Regardless of what's technically amatuer or proffessional, I ENJOY Christina's voice and style, and that's all that matters. That's what singing is about. It's not about technicalities. It's about emotion and uniqueness. Ignorance is thinking a vocal is only "good" if it meets some technical standard. People can have opinions, and the ones who like Christina Aguilera are not ignorant.

  • @Jessikia527 Again like so many, youve confused objectivity with subjectivity. If you think technique is not important to singing then quite frankly you are a fool. If it didnt matter then no one would care if someone was flat, pitchy or cracky, yet people are because technique does matter. You are simply disconnected with the facts because you arent willing to understand them, then again you have highlighted your ignorance.

  • @moroney1 Bitch please. Singing isn't like math. There's no one right way. Actually, news flash, vocalists, or real SINGERS rather, purposely allow their voices to crack sometimes to convey emotion. If you hit every note perfectly, where's the emotion in that? I can't feel what you're feeling if your vocals only portray perfect techniques. Sometimes I'd rather a singer to go off key or be pitchy, if it portrays what they're trying to portray, instead of them just focusing on being perfect.

  • @Jessikia527 Again there is a difference between creating ugly sounds on purpose for emotional conviction, and understanding how to belt properly. It doesnt matter what your opinion is. The objective truth that Xtina has a very poor technique is independant from what you think is correct

  • @moroney1 The fact that you replied when I told you not to even bother says you need to find a better way to spend your time. I honestly don't care what you think so get over it. Bye :)

  • @moroney1 Don't even reply because I don't need you trying to change my opinion. Stop wasting you time and I'll stop wasting mine, thank you.

  • @Jessikia527 Don't get me started. He or she is another troll who likes the insult people for their personal opinions based on his/her "knowledge". And then, even after I tell them to leave me alone, they are still coming for me.

  • legend.

    bow down bitches

  • haha totally agree.

  • the fighter note is an E5 not an Eb5 at 1:24 - 1:30 it start at Eb5 but it's an E5!! anyway great video! :)

  • Yeah, i realised that after i posted this. You'll see in my whit. vs. xtina vid. i correctly labelled it an E. =) and thanks for the compliment and for watching.

  • GOSH!!! She makes all of them notes look so EASY to hit!!

    LEGEND!!!

  • She's amazing!!

  • when she sings the E5 in A song for you the microphone is far from her mouth but it still catches her voice.....

  • She hit Good F5s in B2B tour.

  • Shame of her because if that voice was an instrument to give worship and pray to God she could be most bless and his ligth never ´ll turn of

  • what song was she singing at 6:04

  • Run to You originally done by Whitney Houston

  • matt8691 i agree with you that she is able to hit even powerful F5 and she even did a powerful F#5 at the mtv awards in 2001 singing lady mrmalade..did you like the F5 she did at the summer jam singing i turn to you? to me it was even better than the studio note

  • she's amazing but i don't know why i don't like too much... i like her studio songs but live sounds like she's not prepared or she's forcing her voice too much or like she's tired.

    4:55 i liked the most.

  • the performance at 5:12 is a E5 not a F5

  • hmm... sounds like an F5 to me.

  • if you are referring to understand, the note was a F5

  • I agree, it's obviously an E5. There are no F5s on that dvd.

  • there r 2...

  • DIVA!

  • i love christina's voice soo much

is everybody sure that she's completely belting all of these notes? i heard that she can only belt to E5 and the rest is mix

  • You can belt in mix voice also.

  • christina hits G5 in keep singing my song just after the bridge when she says "i believe yeah aaa yeah"! and about 2 other songs she hit G5 as well!

  • she used to get to F5 way easier on the past... =(

  • You never heard a ilive performance of "I turn to you" live to say that. The reason why she had more Fs as young is basically cause she tried 10 times more.

  • she still does a lot of F5s and F#5s

  • There's not a lot of F#s. But there a good number of Fs that of course some "fans" don't hear it or don't think are powerful, but then again, a year ago nothing above a D5 was powerful so I think even haters are gettin better.

  • i've exagerated saying that she did a lot of F#5s but she did some good F#5..but as you have said she did a lot of F5s and some of them were powerful...this means that she is probably getting her voice trained

  • I think her tecnique is gettin better, but I dunno if that means she gettin trained

  • i think her money note is thr high E5 that she can even hit in her sleep

  • Eb5 - E5 from Christina I think is like.. Awesome.. These are her money notes, fo sho. Especially Eb.

Higher than that.. Eh.. She's a bit inconsistent.. Her F5s can be really good, but other times they can thin out and stuff..

  • I disagree. To me, C5 is Christina's money note.

  • LOL! Sorry, I wasn't too clear.. I kinda meant from like C5 up to Eb5.. Then after that tends to go downhill a bit.

  • Christina can make her C5 sound very powerful =) I agree with you on that =)

  • oh, c'mon. everebody who says that F5 sound thin. Look. At the begin of her cerier she had voice like this but on B2B tour her F5 didn't sound thin!

  • ¬¬'

  • are you even a fan of xtina? her F's on contigo especially are hella powerful.

  • mostly E? XD...

  • whats reverb

  • hey.. great video!!

where are the Nasty naughty boy and oh mohter F5 taken from??

  • oh mother vid was actually taken from myspace and i have no idea which city it was in. the poster didnt say. as for NNB, the vid is on my other comp. so im not 100% but i think its from Montreal. i got the clip from youtube nonetheless. Aigam12 also favourited it from memory, and that F occurs within the first 10 secs of the vid.

  • Those fighter notes are E's???? I always knew the second one touched E's, but i thought the consensus was to label it an Eb. as for the first one, wow!

  • omg aigam12! how come you dont make nemore videos D:

  • damn. the first note blew the shit out of me away. her belting power lies between B4 to E5. and come on people, she pulls the mic away. what would it sound like if she didn't? EXACTLY!

  • do you have any examples?

  • She is an amazing 5th octave belter! Her power is insane in the 5th octave and it's consistent all the way trough F5 and even higher at times. Look at how far she has to pull her mic away from her mouth! When her voice is rested and on point, she blows everybody out the water. So there you have it.

  • how can you not hear it? lol

and what reverb are you talking about? Christina isn't Beyonce...

  • The first Eb5 and the second, including many of her other notes have reverb. Reverb creates an echo sound.

  • There's always an echo sound, no matter what type of mic you use, but the reverb in christina's notes doesn't sound like the kind of huge reverb some singers use because they lack power and want their voice to sound bigger. Christina doesn't need that, that's my point.

  • Yes, it does. She uses it on most of her big notes. She is called herself "a reverb queen" or something like that when she was talking about her upcoming album.

  • where?

  • At MTV. The article is called Christina Aguilera's New LP: Some Jazz, Some Hip-Hop Soul ... And Some Burlesque. It's actually about her third album, Back to Basics. I mixed it up. Why are you back?

  • I've always been here. I comment once in a while. just tired of doing the same thing over and over. ya know.

  • WTF? She is the reverb queen cause in studio she always as for more reverb to hear herself dude... whtch she recording "A song for you". Geez, ya trippin

  • You think she based that all on one song? You're trippin'!

  • And what makes you think she only needed reverb recording one song? Are you there in studio with her?

  • Did I say that? No. I said you think she called herself a reverb queen based on that one song. She didn't.

  • Well, then when I said tht she called herself reverb queen based in only that one song, dude?

But it's not like there's a thousand videos of her in studio is? So, for the few videos we got she likes a lot reverb in studio.I really don't know what you makin big deal about, cause clearly Christina don't use reverb in most of her notes live and you know it.

  • She uses reverb on a lot of her high notes live. Listen to the first one and more.

  • It's not a lot, you know, for someone who criticize for use one video as example, you 're not going well using one note, cause, you know, statistc at least my one video made a point.

  • Very good video thanks

  • Nice vid ;)

  • yuck, it sounds so forced!

  • Comment removed

  • There's a lot notes under a F5 in the Fifth octave, if you don't realize. And you think she can't belt the with power, kid, you are helpless.

  • Comment removed

  • So what? Kelly is not consistent in the %th otave and still is a high belter. What your point? If Carrie growls and whistle as much as Christina I doubt she would be consistente in the %th octave...

  • * 5th octave

  • I think she has more power in her B4-D5/Eb5 though, shes, to me her A4's are nothing compared to her B4-D5's.

  • LOL.

  • I really like it (:!

  • this whole time I thought E5 was the top of her chest voice.

her F5's are actually good. :) Why do people say she cant hit them?

  • because she has more haters than albums sold.

  • ah lol.

    that does explain most.

  • Well, she can't sustain this F's for that long, still, I think they are so in her belting register as the E's. People in youtube are too bitch about the girl hahaha

  • first??? great work! i also believe that she still is powerful when hitting these notes.
