  • The sopranos are amazing. These ballads are hard as hell because you have to sing at the top of your range. BRAVO! for everyone and everything!

  • He looks constipated when he's turning the thingy. haah

  • So intense...simply incredible

  • They are washing their hands- because I think the director wanted to use the phrase in korean 'washing the hands', not committing any crimes, sins, anymore. or out of gangs. This is my guess though.

  • why did they wash their hands?

  • Gah, I wanna see more!

  • Wow... that was... amazing!!! I makes me sad that Tim Burton didn't even include this song in his version...

  • dude that is wicked! ive never heard this sung in a another language. I adore Sweeney Todd!

  • OMG! As someone else said...EPIC! I wish I could see this in its entirety.

  • the stage effects are amazing! they really take the mood to an extreme. i wish the u.s. would do something like this

  • i enjoy how demented the machinery sounds

  • people think sweeny todd is made up when he was a real londner hundred years ago and the best version of sweeny todd is with ray winston

  • Erm more kind of an urban legend. I love stories like this and I have done a lot of research on this. There were always tales of the barberous butcher and the pie maker in victorian england but so far no one has found any record of it actually happening, the most solid source so far is a penny dreadful as they were called, which was the insperation for this musical

  • A Master Peice!!!!!!!!

  • this is, AWESOME!!

  • Woah, creepy hanging peeps in the back round at the end O.O AWESOME!!!!

  • looks epic

  • I got chills watching this....I think watching this life would scare the piss outta me.

Don't get me wrong, I'd come out liking it...but my pant's would be soaked...

  • this was really weird and creepy and AMAZING

    =D

    *****

  • Best Pirelli and Beadle combination ever!

  • I totally agree =D there singing really creeps me out O.o

  • It does actually sound like their singing in a Mass.

  • Wow this design is impeccable!

  • I think the best part was the loud, ugly-sounding machinery.

  • what could the jackets symbolize?

  • Maybe the lives that Sweeney took? They could be the victims' jackets.

  • i think it symbolizes the souls of the departed

  • I think, they're washing their hands clean of blood.

  • that would make sense, because in a way everyone killed a person in this show

  • The mist on the stage created the perfect atmosphere for this song, perfectly chilling and representitive of the spirit of this story.

  • Is this the japanese/korean version of TBoST? Like...I know that these people are playing it, But i Wonder if someone would upload the song in this version, it sounds awesome.

  • This isn't Japanese.

  • Oh, sorry...Kinda sounded like it, though..

  • Yeah they sound kind of similar.

  • awesome set, creepy expression

  • The set looked like an oil rig or a ships engine room!

  • whats with the bowls??

  • It must be part of the Korean theatre culture. Like for instance, they're cleaning up themselves?

  • Possibly Toby telling it while locked away or maybe washing their hands clean

  • That is PRETTY FLIPPIN' SICK.

One of my fave Sweeney casts so far.

  • I do have a question though.....This isn't meant to be racist if it sounds that way, but most Koreans (well, I guess Asians in general) have dark hair. What would they do about Johanna? Cause Both Sweeney and Anthony refer to her as having yellow hair. Perhaps they change the lyrics?

  • They're actors. They act. Which means that if need be, they dye their hair or apply stage makeup. Your question isn't racist, just painfully obvious and the answer is too redundant.

  • I dont see how my question is redundant. I was just curious.

  • I'm sorry for being rude. I'm somewhat of theater elitist at times. Or I just act like one.

  • OMG.....the beginning is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • They have an interesting approach to Sweeney Todd.

  • There is something about Korean productions that is so aesthetically pleasing to me.

  • excellent...

  • that is defenitly korean^^

  • Really interesting set...

  • This truly creeped me out, with the part right before the song began.

  • The part before the beginning was Toby going insane and running the meat grinder.

  • Would they sing "there's no place like Korea"!?!

  • LOL! XD Good one.

  • I think the Korean production is a very interesting take on "Sweeney Todd". Wish I could see more of it

  • Overall, I think this is pretty good, but there's one thing I liked better in the original version: When Sweeney walks to the door and SLAMS it with so much power ans intensity in the end. I thought that was an ingenious way to end it - and the one thing that makes the original slightly better.

  • Very intense. I like the end how Sweeney looks up, as if to Heaven, only to left in the red light of Hell. Interesting take on the show.

  • I agree! I kind of like the coats ascending towards the sky as well! It's kind of like they represent all of Sweeney's innocent victims he murdered going to Heaven.

  • Yeah, I agree! And if you notice on 3:15 all of the "survivors" are the only ones who kind of stay in their place as all the other killed people go off to the sides XD Well I think that!

  • amazing. i dont understand korean but this seriously gave me chills! much better i think than the original (with angela lansbury etc..) but thats mainly b/c its a much more modern production. very dark and very theatrical, i LOVE IT!!! wish the movie was this good

  • Wow, the Korean finale is beautiful. I'd love to do work on a show like this. <3

  • wow this is a very elaborate version... still has the theater symbolism and yet still creepy and dark... go Korea! perfect timing on the songs even though its not English... i like

  • In my opinion, I believe Johnny Depp is a better looking Sweeney.

  • God, their Tobi is insane. The Sweeney is pretty nuts looking too.

  • ooooh!

    cool

  • This. Is. AMAZING. It gave me goosebumps.

What I wouldn't give to see this production, even if I wouldn't understand a word.

  • How come Tim Burton couldn't capture this much intensity?

  • woooow

  • How brilliant is this staging!? All the supporting characters involved, good, bad, whatever, washing their hands of the sorry business. I wish all of this production was available to be watched somehow.

  • So what's with the hanging people?

  • Not hanging people, taking off and hanging people coats! it alludes that the show is now over cuz the show starts as the ansemble wears the coats...so it's final scene..it's time to take off and hang the coat I think :)

  • Oh.

  • so this is translated into korean?

  • Yes Korean version

  • So they're washing their hands? Interesting. Are there any more clips of this production?

  • I thought it seems like cleanup their faults.

    Different ending with broadway version.

    Double cast version also amaging

  • In that case it really lends a surreal, supernatural feel. Like we're actually seeing them in the afterlife, washing away their sins, or attempting to.

  • Three of them were still alive.

  • Eh. Maybe much later?

  • i saw this last week. hong ji min(mrs.lovett) was just amazing. i was completely overwhelmed with her.

  • this sounds quite cool, actually!

    thanks for posting!
