Very melodious song from Hasrat Jaipuri and Shankar-Jaikishan from 1953 film Patita; I had heard this one when I was 14 years old and now that I am 72, this sounds as sweet as it sounded then ; I wonder who gave the music to this song; was it Shanker or Jaikishan? I certainly would like to know. It is said that immediately after signing the film, they used to divide the songs and then never interfered in each other’s compositions. Even after good seventy years the sweetness has not diminished.
There can never be another Dev Anand. The original hero as the HERO should be. Handsome, stylish, always well dressed, great hair style and a million dollar smile Will be missed always RIP
Really a magnificent song with beautiful voices of Lata Mangeshkar and that very rich soft voice of Hemant Kumar.I was only eleven years old when I used to hear this song on All India Radio. I am now seventy one years old. I used love this song then and I still love it now. How time has been running away with such fast speed that it has been leaving everything behind but my old memories have still not faded away. They are still fresh as they were then. Time could not take them away from me.
this song i have been searching for few years now and finally found it, wow what a song it is, its words its music its beats its every thing just keeps you spell bound and you want to listen again and again, takes you to the romantic realm which can be regarded as a fantasy.
R. I. P. to Dev anand Sahab. Ek swarnim yug ka aant ho gya aapke jane se. Hats off to you of your presence among us.. You'll be in our heart always .....
pyaar se pukar lo kahan ho tum ..... magar tum kyon pukarogi. ek baar tumhare pyar bhare pukar ko main nahin samajh saka. sach main to maafi mangne laaeq bhi khud ko nahin samajhta. tum pe kya guzri hogi. main sorry kah kar tumhara insult nahin karunga..
Itna nasha ho gaya ye gaane sunke jo dus Johny walker bhi na de sake! What a personality, this Dev Anand is and look at the cute Usha Kiron (Tanvi Azmi's mom) Above all, Hemantda's manly voice! Think movie is Patita and music by SJ. Song written by Hasrat Jaipuri saab?
Beautiful romantic song dignifying feelings of love bird miles apart. Beautiful Lyrics, Melodious composition and a magnificent screen presentation. Really old is gold...
You must not forget that these songs had back up. There were top muscians, instrumnetal players, poets. They were a team along with singers like Hament Kumar wuhich made these songs great...........not just the singers alone.
yad kia dil ne kahan ho tum, jhoomtee bahar he jahan ho tum, piyar se pukar lo jahan ho tum! kho rahey ho aaj kis khayal mein, dil phansa he bekasi ke jal mein, matlabi jahan meherban ho tum, piyar se pukar lo jahan ho tum, rat dhal chuki he subah ho gai, mein tumhari yad mein so gai, ab to meri dastan ho tum, piyar se pukar lo jahan ho tum! tum hamaree zindgi key bagh ho, tum hamaree rah ke charagh ho, merey liye aasman ho tum, yad kia dil ne kahan ho tum piyar se pukar lo jahan ho tum!
thanks for uploading this song getusama. what a great song. No Dhick Chack Dhick Chack like today is happening in all kinda of music. Very soft song. I dont understand why 2 dislikes? These 2 punks dont know real meaning of music and songs.
I would salute to Hemant Kumar´s courageous step to enter into singing arena. He knew exactly that his voice was just as normal as one could imagine. What persuaded him to proceed because of his bank with full of compositions. And so much so, Lata Mangeshkar, an authority and stablished singer at that time could not refuse him. What a legend? He has scored beautiful duets with this nightingale. This particular song is one of them. It is pleasure to listen to such great performer. (19 02 2011)
A fabulous, immortal &evergreen melody interpreted by the outstanding duo of Lata & Hemant transporting the listener down memory lane to a time which, for many of us, was as beautiful and fantastic as this song, its interpreters, the composers and the romantic film Patita........... Words cannot describe more because all just goes straight to the heart and sits there forever. Many thanks to whoever downloaded and share this pleasure.
To Mr. dileepnaik: Just to correct you. The actress with Devanand is not Nalini Jaywant. She is Usha Kiran. True, it is one of the most melodius song of yester years. A K Bhatnagar
This song so melodious and so touching goes very well in a party. I have always done this song as duet with other female singers and have received good applause, mainly cause the song swings back and forth in a very smooth motion takes every one along inn their past. Best song to play on Harmonica I do it with Ab or A sounds great.
Devanand is with Nalini Jaywant ,most beautiful lady before Madhubala rose to that level.

How did they evoke so much romance with such contained picturization! ! Perhaps today's choreographer's/directors should consider how minimal is beautiful and tenderness an emotion that reaches across ages.
@MsJon316 You are right Jon. Simplicity is the best ornament. We hardly had seen yester years heroes and heroins hugging, disabling even the air to pass through. Yet they were, and of course are, enthralling. I congratulate myself for having lived through this golden era. Hats off to these makers.

"Pyaar se pukar lo jahaan ho tum" Pyaar must be there even when it's a call. So so heartly spoken words, and work on the words. So lovely song. Thank you so much, the one who place this song on it's place.
