  • Pretty good for a show that was rehearsed in a week. Shove that in your pipe haters!

  • She is so freaking GOOD!

  • Why are people teasing on her just because shes alittle different than the regular adalaide. I got the part last year and i'm african american. You would never think but it happens. So people need to shut their mouths.

  • Those people calling her fat were probably did guys and dolls and didnt get the part they wanted. So they want to rain on somebody elses parade.

  • nice farm costumes... lmfaooo. but besides that it was really good... besides the squeaking in the beginning

  • Ahhh the difference between middle school and high school...

  • Oh, we did that at our school last year. xDD no offense but we were better. ;p

  • heehee, my school is doing this musical this year. I'm so excited. I'm totally tryin out!

  • if only my school had someone like that...

we're putting this on, and i dont think there is anyone that could play Adelaide as well as this at my school.

  • the choreography and this singing is actually pretty good, just not the costumes

  • wow. i hope thatsd not what r girls will have 2 wair, cuz it wont match the choreograhy at all, or the farm girl thing

  • omg i was a hotbox girl in this & ithought we were ohkay but compared to these ppl we are amazing. this production is HORRIBLE.

  • she sang wonderfully and i thought she was very pretty. but why was her hair brown? just saying...it confuses me. because when we did this we found a blonde wig for my friend that played Adelaide. More like the film, too

  • @SupHobagg - my daughter did it in a red wig.

  • @JoelleDunn

Oh, I see. well that's cool too! I'm sorry, I wasn't implying it was wrong or anything, as in it didn't fit. It does to a sense, just confusing to me personally. I should have worded that differently

  • @SupHobagg- The original broadway girl also played it in the movie (Vivian something) and she did it in a blond wig. But our director had a vision of Adelaide as a redhead and it worked on my daughter. Different theater groups with different budgets even choose not to use wigs, which is what this theater group apparently did. Every single hotbox dancer in our cast (see the video from NutsArePeoleToo above) had a wig. It's where the directors priorities are.

  • @SupHobagg - I also posted a dress rehearsal of Sue Me and my daughter was wearing the blond Grease "Frenchie" wig. It just didn't work or look as good as the red one.

  • wow she has a great voice. she did a really good job as Adelaide.

  • didn;y no i was blind and deaf

  • excuse you guys!!!!!! she was fabulous!!! and if u don't realize it then u r blind and deaf!!!

  • This girl has talent. does anything else matter when your appearing in a show? ok charisma and character but she has those things too, it doesnt matter what she looks like as long as she can play th character

Well done to this girl she did an amzing job =)

  • omg she is soo good!

  • she'd make a good lesbian

  • Oh wow! The girl playing Adelaide is fantastic! ^___^ She has a great voice and her acting is spot on.

  • you people are sick if you are looking for a hot 12 year old. I'm

playing Adalaide in my middle school play this year, and I'm not on the small size either, yet I sing great.SIZE DOESN'T MATTER PEOPLE!!!!!

  • aww, I love this! The Hot Box dancers have fanastic energy! You guys should be very proud of yourselves!

  • adelade sounds soo great!

  • ...your kidding...right?.... this ISN'T a middle, it has to be like a drama camp for kids or something...is it?.... it's really good!

  • rubbish u no

  • adelaide is so good! wat theatre is this?

  • actually, the hot box isn't a strip club. i completely agree with LukaHartman. its more of a striptease

  • From a professional actor with a theatre degree, and a person who is currently starring in this show, weight is not a problem. Adelaide and Nathan are the oldest in the leads anyway! of course they would be heavier. And the hot box is NOT a strip club by any means. There were VERY FEW of those back in that era, and the ones that were there, were not talked about. It never would have been shown in a 1950's show on Broadway!!! It is a vaudeville club. Like the Ziegfeild

  • "disgusting fat cow"rude, these are kids. not professional theatre. Luka, you starred in Guys and Dolls?? Tell me more. weight is a problem. 1950's, you had to be a certain size to even appear in a "Ziegfield" type show. And vaudeville, burlesque, were the strip shows. body type was very important. Ziegfield was not a vaudeville club, but for people who were of upper class looking for a spectacle of entertainment.Guys and Dolls does not take place in 1950, but during the Prohibition not1950.

  • Weight is not a problem. And I never said this show took place in the 1950's, The show was on the great white way in the 50's, November 24, 1950 to be exact. I referenced the Florenz Ziegfeld follies, as to the acts of vaudeville entertainment. Vaudeville was included in the Follies. The hot box is far from the Ziegfeld follies! That's just common sense. It's a cabaret, not in the sense of style but in the sense of performance venue, and the performance type is clearly vaudeville acts.

  • Adelaide has NO character descriptions as to weight in any script, score or plot I have seen yet to date. The image you have however is the "common" excepted image of Adelaide. Theatre is an expression of art, and has always supposed to be. By enforcing these role stereotypes, theatre can never evolve. For instance, were you aware there was an all black cast of Guys and Dolls? ON BROADWAY, in 1976? Unless the characters are part of the given circumstances of a show, creative expression is used!

  • @Janekaitlin - did someone call her a fat cow? That's ridiculous. She was great.

  • people like you dont deserve to have a moth to say such things like that. i bet she can tap dance better than you, never mind sing!

  • Size does kind of matter, seeing she is a STRIPPER. That is right The Hot Box is a Strip Club. Also why are they not wearing clothes you would see worn on a farm?

  • The girl playing adelaide has a really good voice! She defo has a future in show biz!

  • Why are people disappointed with this Adelaide's body? Were you hoping for a sexy 12 year old? If so, you're sick, and if not, then what's the problem? Christ, people are ridiculous.

  • All you poeple who have a problem with how much this girl weighs is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. I'm no small girl myself and I'm trying out for Adelaide next year. this girl is healthy, beautiful, and talented, you should be jelous.

  • You people are disgusting

Who cares that she's not as emaciated as the other 8 year olds on stage with her? She did a great job as the character.

If you all go to schools where they would reject a talented girl playing adelaide for being human sized, you all go to sick establishments.

Besides, shes clearly a lot older than the other kids

  • omggg size does sooo not matter

nowadays all ppl care bout is size

shes is great thats all that shud matter some ppl cant see past the size of ppl its pathetic not everyones perfect!

  • guys and dolls played at my school and adelaide was god damn SKINNY!

  • i did this play your dance was good especially with the tapping our dance was good too.

  • what a fat little girl....

  • Comment removed

  • omg!

MelonZaza! She is NOT fat! And that doesnt even matter. She was fantastic. She has an amazing voice.

I think you were perfect for the part :]

  • why is every adelaide in the play fat?

  • hah we're actually doing this musical right now and our adaliade is not fat.

  • i'm playing adelaide and i'm not fat :)

besides...the girl in the video isn't fat.

    and size doesn't matter really.

it doesn't say anywhere that adelaide is skinny or fat or short or tall or anything.

  • we are doing this and our adelaide is extremely skinny. lol :) sorry to say it.. but she is (:

  • She is not fat. You are stupid for even saying that.

  • YAY TAP!! I've never seen middle school kids do it! I commend you.

  • these aren't middle school kids, they range from ages 7-25

  • this still makes me laugh. hahaha.

    OH ME! lol

  • I am trying out for adelaide this coming tuesday!

    wish me luck!

  • GAHH i love this.

if i were two years older i coulda been in it

  • This is great! Are they using a tape or do they have a live orchestra? Just curious. We're using the tape at our school.

  • yeah it's a cd track

  • is this the jr version? cuz my school is doing it but we're doing the jr version

  • yes it is the junior version

  • arnie is fantastic!

  • haha LOVE IT!
