  • i find it funny how people used to glorify war. i mean during the american civil war, people acctually had a picnic at where on of the battles was going to happen, and you can guess how well that went. we finally got a wake up call after WWI and II, and said whoops, war is bad haha

  • This is a good movie and all,but think about the men that died for our country and the ones fighting for our country. Please show respect and thank you to the ones that are.

  • watching thistheres 1 thing i need to say

    Don't fuck with the US

  • 2:16 real bad ass, you have to dance on the graves of kids? they were mere kids

  • DUDE COULD U IMAGINE GETTING TRAINED FOR 4 Fucking months and go out there, open the door and fucking die

  • that just shows how much hell war is in this movie like that bit were he looks over his shoulder and the full landing craft is on fire and the soldiers are running out burning

  • Not making fun of the Vets, but I can't stop thinking "JENKINS!!!!!!!" everytime I watch the first half an hour of Saving Private Ryan...

Once again, NOT making fun of the Veterans...

My grandpa fought against the Japs in China, so I have a huge respect for Vets of the Second World War.

  • i would like to know how we (canada usa brirttan) won this fight lke it is the biggest suside run of all time like wtf guess it goes to show how tough we are

  • @MrDCPRESS

Damn right son but if they were thinking they would have bombed the beach and not inland targets

  • @MrDCPRESS that was ignorant, you know this is just a movie not an actual re-enactment. plus the germans inside the machine gun nests that day were 16 year old hitler youth. how tough you were? hha you lost more men then ground, america won the beach in cost of 5000 soldiers opposing children that had more military training then then we, U.S.A had.

  • @Nukelearne yea but moste of the men were shot more than one time and got right the fuck back up and kept going and yeah i know it didnt happen exactly like this but in some places it did and fuck the germans no matter how old they were alot of the canadians qwere the same age and younger who wanted to go thinking they would be gon for the summer and back home by x-mas

  • @MrDCPRESS got right the fuck back up? again you think to highly of your average joes. it doesnt matter where you come from especially canada if you had an inch long piece of steel whistling through your chest.plus i dont think canadians were involed on omaha beach either.the german soldiers had by far more military training then many other countries, doing military procedures starting at the age of 9 before they advanced to hitlerjugend to even start to compare canadians with them is a mistake

  • @MrDCPRESS What the fuck? you get shot, Your DOWN. its happened to me ok. and what the fuck does Canada have to do with this? I know they were in WW2, i know they were involved at sword beach and i also know that every singe fuking man to jump off a higins boat and get gunned down was 100% rock hard american

  • jophuf2 you were finger fucked at birth by ya daddy you idiot

  • People say Americans don't do shit,Well they should watch this and the canadians and british help in this battle,Well the canadians was in juno and a nother one,But we fought for the freedom of the french.God Bless America!

  • 1:07.. favorite part of this video

  • Rangers lead the way all the way

  • I feel sozzy for that flamethrower soldier his tank expolded and took him out and the soldiers around him. Those flamies should get a medal

  • badass

  • the marksman gets pwned in the movie ) : he owns The Translater and the medic are also awsome!!

  • Love the song and the movie....favorite guy would be Barry Pepper's Character Jackson the sniper....I mean how cool is he... The men who stormed the Beaches of Normandy brought so much Honor to their family... I hop when I go in I will do the same...even as a female soldier.

  • In Mw2, Barry Pepper plays Dunn right? Anyway, he has an awesome voice that Cannuck!

  • LeviRHogan yeah thats what i heard but I haven't the chance to play it yet... but its got to be good

  • CDTwheaton there is a really funny line he says, but I can't remember what it was

  • was it when they were griping about going on the mission?

  • No, i remember now, he trys to call for support, and when they refuse to give them support, he asked "Sarge, did HQ just tell us to 'f' ourselves?", and in response Sgt. Foley says "Pretty much Coperal...."

  • @LeviRHogan he has a slight texas accent now

  • @CDTwheaton my grandfather was in the first wave on D-Day as a Ranger captain, hes still alive i can ask wht company he was in

  • @Snako85 wow that is so cool... most people find it funny that being a girl I know so much about the War... :) tell your grandfather I thank him for his service :)

  • @CDTwheaton i dont fi d it weird its just not common

  • @Snako85 yeah that is true... I have studied the war for about 5 years now... :)

  • @CDTwheaton i have for 1 year

  • yeah... it's just really interesting to find out about our past maybe we can use it to our advantage in the future... I just hate that so many good men died it's really sad.... that's why I am happy to be living in a Country like America where we have freedom and brave men and woman willing to lay their lives on the line for us... they have got to be my biggest heros because they are so brave and they help people :)

  • @CDTwheaton they dont want to be calld heroes

  • you are right about that, but I do think that they are brave and deserve so much respect more so than what they get.... I hate seeing our Veterans suffer, it's so awful.....after all that they go through they should never have to worry about money or having a home and food again...

  • @CDTwheaton im a veteran of Iraq and some of my friends are too my best friend didnt make it out alive tho but we arent poor or are suffering or any thing.

  • I know I have a lot of friends there... I just hate the way some get treated like in the VA....

  • @CDTwheaton VA?

  • yeah the Veterans hospital we have one down here in Salisbury, the guy who led us through when I went to help with the veterans didn't even want to be there... sorry if I had offended you before.

  • @CDTwheaton i wasnt offended

  • ok I just don't like how some people disrespect the soldiers and the country... I think both should be treated with the highest respect :)sorry to hear about your friends...

  • @CDTwheaton it was just one and he was my best fruiend and he died right in front of me

  • man I am really sorry that's really bad... my best friends told me that they were both leaving for Iraq in February.... hope you're ok....

  • I love how these people will stand on a corner on Veterans Day and protest the men who die defending their right to protest the soldiers

  • lol looks like tom hanks is singing

  • This is an amazing movie. I am joining the Marines in about 1 year so this is like my theme movie lol

  • lmao a marines theme movie is of rangers dying boooooooo lol jk jk jk godbless all those that have served or serving but what do you plan to do in the marines tho cause im joining to

  • Im going as an officer and then Recon hopefully.

  • o cool i was thinking the same thing either that or engineers

  • god bless u tyler

  • Hey thanks God bless you to.

  • oh btw my name is tyler also

  • and it kinda did and it didnt it completed half of its purpose thats y my grandpa said ALMOST exactly accurate

  • lol the battle of dunkurk look that up

  • folks this is the only movie to make me cry. I have a hard time watchin it. But i will say it is one of the most moving movies that has ever been produced. God bless the men who went through it.

  • "We've got to lead the way! Everybody with your fist raised high!"

  • BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM goes the bunker on 2:21 BEST part

  • i like the flamthrower part!!! 2:21min

  • great vid

  • Nah the Russians would of pushed on and conquered the Germans in Europe. The UK couldn't do no "D-Day" invasion but beat the Germans in Africa, If the U.S didn't go to war....Well it would of been hard for the Allies to win, but I Believe they would come up on top

  • wat ur saying is true but before russia and america joined the war the british and french were always on the run and getting beat by the nazi's then the russians got attked by the nazi's then the japs attked us and thus we won

  • what thats nor fucking true the brits owned tthe nazi on many acations

  • yeah, the RAF kicked the luftwafes ass.

  • watch response video

  • the goverment had people as young as 14 say they were 18 to go fight, and most of them died.war truly is hell

  • Landing on Omaha was hell. My Grandfathers Uncle landed there.

  • He got killed instantly with a bullet to the head or survived?

  • Not really sure, but he did die on the beach.

  • He died?

  • Only cause the war was good pay at that point of time, due to the fact people were getting out of the depression, that's the only reason they actually volunteered so they could get good pay to help their families.

  • they joined because they had no choice

  • no, it was really bad pay, ppl were drafted

  • the film is the best

  • haha the pause from 2:15 past is raw!!!!

  • Monday coming up im going to watch this in my school at 7th hour

  • The war was terrible becouse this is one of those wars where people were drafted they had no choice but to join or go to prison

  • well yeah, US had to take the fight to the Germans, if US didn't go to war, the world today as we know it would be a very different place.

  • @LpFan54 i rather go to prison

  • Great movie, but look at it like this, in the war,you don't just see like a few shots, what I've heard ( some of my family have been in wars, not D-Day though ) that you'll see alot more, blood and bullets then this movie. Also,I think they said in on this army channel that while they were going to shore, one of the boats had been set on fire. But,this only happens in Saving Private Ryan AFTER all the boats land, like WTF?

  • Correction there were guys as young as 16 there. My Great Grandfather was there at Omaha Beach he never liked talking about it. The only time I have ever heard him talk about it was after he saw the first part of Saving Private Ryan. All he said that movie does not even show half of what happened at Omaha Beach it was horrible.

  • i loved 2:11 - 2:22 great job 5/5

  • there was just people 18-21...right?

i mean....war sucks but it's not like people had choices

  • sad part is this is how it was :s

  • Being signed myself. When you sign that dotted line, there is a claus in the contract that says and not in these words, trust me they are a lot more tricky and confusing but basically..

You promise to put your religious and moral beliefs aside for the cammands of your country.

Sorry to say this, but it takes a little blood to fix a country. This is how the U.S has worked non stop sense world war 2.

That's how we got as far as we have, and that's how we are going to continue to grow.

  • even younger than that as low as 17

  • BEST D-DAY SCENE EVER!!!! R.I.P soldiers

  • there's a difference between killing and fighting for you're country...

  • and i dont think any soldiers back then wanted to kill and die even for their country. they were just kids 20+

  • well, they were recruiting men as young as 17, some have been rectuited at the age of 16. but that was rare.

  • makes sence to put a christian song in a video about killing @_@

  • u idiots, there is no way u could run the beach in 30 sec, they were longer beaches than wat was in the movie, when u got out of the boat u were either waist deep or fell into water, with bullets and shells landing around u, it wouldve been much harder than wat the movie shows, i hav great respect for the men that fought a d-day

  • Yep, in fact they were so bogged down by their gear that they could only move at a slow walk, to those who are wondering. If you ever see pictures, you'll see they are not sprinting, they're moving at a slow jog, AT BEST! They were carrying 150+ pounds of gear including the water that soaked into their pockets and bags.

  • ya man, and the airborne had over 100 pounds of gear, they would drown in a few inches of water.

    R.I.P soldiers

  • To everyone who says "Phew, i would run trough the beach in thirty seconds" Trust me dubasses, i play Airsoft while most of my team were "killed" and enemys 2 squads was approaching in front of me, me and my team mate were so scared that we just cant move. It is only airsoft, now imagine real war...

  • Brillant part with the flame thrower and stopping. I had to top writing my story to see what was going on with the music... Nicely done

  • Epic

  • actually hollywood made it sucks cus in that time there were no bullets witch if they hit the water they go on full speed to the bottom they actually had to stop when they hit the water

  • Think, that those men, gave their lives to push the germans down, I greatly respect the men who gave their lives at D-Day, and those who survived. Truly a turning point at D-Day was when the rangers captured Point Du Hoc, It's worth thinking about isn't it?

  • i really can't see how they won that like right out of the boat boom like just getting filled in true courage there, and not gonna lie i would of shit my self and cried i want my mommy...

  • yeah me too

  • LAWL there were fishes in the end have u seen em?

  • Wowo very nice video!!!

    I love song and movie

    NicE!!!

  • how did anyone manage to survive on DDay? it's so crazy that alot did !

    love this vid.

  • because Saving private ryan focuses on Omaha beach- the worst beach and it is also focusing on the first wave in which only 20% survived. But overall, almost 80% of people within the first 2 hours of landing didnt even get injured. Also, hollywood likes to add some badass effects and a hint of exaggeration.

Me- A history graduate and a self proclaimed WW2 Geek.

  • thanks for educating me, really

    i didnt know that

  • actually over all about 60% live out of all 3 waves on omaha...my grandpa was in the first wave and said this movie was almost exactly accurate.

  • madmarine123. I thank your grandfather for his service.

  • i tthought the firsttt wave faild

  • 0:8 - 0:13 loooool :D:D:D:D damn its so funny !! :D

  • dude dont think their the good guys! they shoot some people that surrendered! their as bad as the enemies maybe even worse!

  • If you were on of the soldiers climbing the beach, and you caught the German machine gunner who shot all your friends dead, wouldn't you do the same?

  • u hav a point but hey they were following orders..they might hav a family and all.. one of them was an elderly man that got shot....

  • Yeah thats true, I mean the German soldiers had to follow orders too.

I guess none of us will know what we would do, unless we are put in that situation.

  • Not trying to bog your point, I mean, for Omaha that is true, but the rest of the beaches were guarded by Polish prisoners. The SS lines were stretched so thin that the Germans only manned Omaha, what they considered to be "the spearhead." That's why the other beaches had less casualties. They didn't have much to fight for.

  • Oh okay. Yeah well that's true.

I suppose in war these things go out the window.

    - Digby

  • Omaha was gaurded by german soldiers positioned on bluffs, they had a great view of the ocean, and the beach, which meant eassy pickings.

plus about 2 tanks ever made it on shore.

  • thats so easy for you to say, but when your in the moment your heart is pounding your hands are shaking and you dont think any of those thoughts, all you think is 'this man killed my friend'

you do not feel pity or remorse

  • i can see why..but in the movie on the shingle one guy mentioned that they didn't have a chance and it wasn't fair...they pretty much wanted to show the Germans what it's like not to have a chance

  • 2 wrongs dont make a right lolz got that from my 2nd grade teacher....

  • well i wouldn't know..:)

maybe it's the surrounding affecting how they feel

  • nice =)

  • I would HATE to be the guy in front!!! In the beaching vehicle- Don't know what it is actually-

  • its a higgens boat and samehere.

  • its called a landing craft. The US standard was caled the higgins boat which is what features in the movie.

  • thats some crazy shit man i cant belive they actualy won at Dday like the door on the boat comes down u got a Mg just destroying everyone on the boat...sucks to be in the front i guess.

  • one of my favorite movies!!

    i like the vid too!

    graet job!

  • Good job.

This song fits the scene really well.

  • ok but music got erased at one spot so could be better

  • brill song and vid 5/5

  • yammmmm..yammmm.. jus'd orange!!! yammmm

  • NOEZZZ ORANGE WATER AT THE ENDDZZZ

shood it be orange drinks :I?

  • O-o... no more fanta for me....

  • Ah no gore :(

  • the first time me and my friends saw S.P.R they started laughing at sean ryans back pack cause they didn't see the dot so the thought it said ryan s. my name is ryan and my last name starts with an S. so it kinda freaked me out.

  • same here, my name is ryan and my last name starts with and S.

  • d-day scene makes my frieds dad so pissed... he screams at the screan and stuff

  • the otehr thing that sucks if they guy next to u has a flamethrower and his tank gets shot o_O

  • it sucks wen right wen the door hits the ocean.....BAM!BAM!BAM!

  • Well thats what those gunners were told to do.

  • Omg this movie look so coool! Whats the name of it?

  • umm its right on the title. Saving Private Ryan. came out i tink in 93 im not entirely sure.

  • LoL ok :P

    A strange name i think :P

  • It's a drama about a group of Soldiers wich take part in the attack of the normandy, later they have to find a man who landed with the airborne for bringing him back home.

Very strict and hard movie i think, but it shows the face of second world war better than any other movie i know...

  • The War Vets that watched Saving Private Ryan all said it was really accurate in every detail

  • 198 lol sorry lol i know you posted this a while ago

  • It came out on 1998 saving private ryan

  • What song is that? 5/5 by the way!

  • Frontline by Pillar

  • thnx....I figured that out after I made the comment.

  • the movie was great same wit song, but just think about what happend there.. the germans were cheap in that battle, they just sat there and we didnt even get time so shoot before we layed on the ground dead. Yeah, we finally made it but soo many were dead in the first wave.

  • Yeah, I'd rather get shot at first than get called cheap. Yep. The other guy might kill me first, but at least I won't be called cheap.

  • Idiot, of course they 'just sat there' It was a war, not a fucking videogame.

If you die, you don't respawn, you're DEAD.

Camping is fucking legimitate in real life ya idiot, because if you lose you don't just go down a rank or whatever, you are dead!

  • its called war, they werent cheap considering they werent the ones that decided for the americans to charge on a beach

  • lol you wuldnt make it and even if u did there asre usually two people in turret nests ud be ripped apart but nice thought

  • if i was there on d-day and i made it to the germans i would rip out there throat with my bare hands!!!

  • Really nicely put together, song fits the movie well.

  • "When he gets to heaven

To Saint Peter he will tell

    Another soldier reporting sir

I've served my time in hell"

PS. What album is this song from?

  • It's "Where do we go from here"

  • pillar rocks all the way, i used to thing christian rock was crap until i got there cd from my sisters bf.Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."

    - Winston Churchill

They died hard, those savage men - like wounded wolves at bay. They were

filthy, and they were lousy, and they stunk. And I loved them."

    - General Douglas MacArthur

    =============================

"So long as there are men there will be wars."

    - Albert Einstein

  • lol piano

  • "those who wish for peace, prepare for war"

  • hell yeah man america's modo

  • all the way man!

  • great song and good parts of the movie!

  • awesome song!!

  • i loved this video.. keep it up :D

  • wait sorry it was my computer playing the piano (if you dont know whwat im talkin about look at my other comment)

  • was the piano was supposed to be playing?

  • It's impossible to survive 'Getting out the boat' if your in the first wave, you'd be lucky if you even reached a inch of sand.

  • you were lucky if your boat even reached land.

Tom Hanks got pwned so bad...

  • Nope at the Flame part "Flame, DO IT!!!" that was hanks. THe other guy was the guy with the white flag. The other Captain in the boat. Lmao, bloodiest battle of the war
