i hope you know its not 'joining' as an officer. if you're serious about this, keep in mind about the different options of becoming an officer and that you're going to have to go to OCS
When you make fun of marines, and say go navy your making fun of the navy itself, since the marines used to be in the navy, and all the navy has is navy seals, all marines are riflemen, all marines can shoot and are physically the most elite branch in the US. So when you make fun of the marines, they come into your house and you have to do marine training for 2 weeks....have fun with that.

I highly suggest that you don't refer to our Armed Forces as "soldiers". Whenever you call someone a Soldier, you are refering to the Army of the Armed Forces. Airmen being from the Air Force, Seamen being from the Navy (or Seals, depending on their MOS) and Marines are refered to Marines. If you want to refer to all of us, use words like Troops or Armed Forces.
Some will take it very offensively if you call them Soldiers.

no now they have the eagle,globe and anchor ceremony a week before you graduate and your'e considered a Marine. They call the last week Marine week. you get to call the D.I.'s by their rank. this was done to make adjusting to joining the fleet easier. so your not going around calling L/Cpl's sir and shit lol.
I think some of the incentives you get for signing on vary between the 2 branches. If you want more information, I'd look into their websites, and talk to some recruiters for more information on the different branches.

I think some of the incentives you get for signing on vary between the 2 branches. If you want more information, I'd look into their websites, and talk to some recruiters for more information on the different branches.
