@TheIronomega Picture an enemy of the imperium. A 10ft tall ork for example. Now picture a space marine, with appropriate equiptment. They each kill orks by the hordes. Now. picture a lonley little guardsman. He is no god of war, hes just a normal man. About 5 feet or so tall. with a small rifle, two oversized sholder pads and a hat. He fights the same enemy the Space Marine does. What the Imperial Guardsman may lack in strength, he makes up for with sheer decipline, courage, and valor.
@OtherSideOfArgument in all honesty... im suprised as to why the imperium hasnt considered rifle with bullets instead of flashlights.... seeing that you know so much about the Imperial guard can you please tell me why space marines are armed with bolters and Imps armed with flashlights
@thelittlemind Currency. Guns with bullets are EXPENSIVE. Flashlights, are not so expencive and are relitivley easy to make. Which makes arming 100k men much easier.
@OtherSideOfArgument but still.. if you can afford large columns of tanks im preety sure if you replace 100 tanks to give your men real rifle they can do alot moere then just be cannon fodder
@thelittlemind remember the way their logic has been set, why equip the lowest common infantry with better gear when instead you can cut costs, provide better weapons to your elites and use those common conscripts as nothing but human waves against an enemy?
@Feiora true but your elites can only do so much against orks and tyranids until they are overrunned by numbers... to me it doesnt seem reasonable to have millions of tanks with crappy infantry when you can have more of a balanced force... then again im no millitary genius
@thelittlemind hence the eternal stalemate the Imperium is in :) always fighting never really winning... bad tactics, bad logistical thinking, and poor conceived concepts of a decrepit empire well past its prime Im afraid... (Im all for the imperial guard btw, however Im also observing the Imperium as a whole not just one part.)
@Feiora i perfectly understand... thank you... ive followed many sci fi wars where people actually upgrade weapons and this is one of the very few that dont bother to change to adapt to new or stronger threats
@Feiora Yes,but you have to see that the weapons of the imperium are quite strong and can counter almost any threat,so they dont need to adapt(most of the times) :D
@OtherSideOfArgument no what he makes up for in real skill he matches in great numbers.
only rarely do you get a gaunts ghost type group most are just a great meat shield throw enough lasgun blasts at the enemy eventually one will drop! courage lol thats a laugh without their tanks they are nothing.
