I am looking to replace a very old Dell PC and keen to move away from Windows. I looked at Mac Book Pro - but even the screen size of 13 is expensive. iMac seems better value and no tower to worry about.

This video gave me a very clear idea of the pros and cons of both the iMac and the Macbook. It is better than Apple's own videos! Thanks very much.

I would like the imac (pc user, never had a mac) but the way I see it, it has two problems. 1. It looks like it will have similar overheating problems to laptop. Worse infact, because atleast with a laptop you can use a cooling pad and solve the problem. 2. Once the screen dies, you need a new computer, another reason I wanted to get away from laptops. And ofcourse the mac pro is too expensive. Apple needs a mac pro style option in the sub $2000 price range

@Abu7929 I was also worried about overheating. I'm a music composer and I've spent the last week loading all my music software (530 gig worth) and I haven't turned it off for 3 days. It's warm at the top but that is where the heat escapes so I 'm no longer worried about overheating :)

Just a small correction at 11:22. :)

The 7200 rpm you mentioned is the speed the platters on the hard drive are spinning at (to improve seek  times) and it is *always* spinning at that speed.

Totally different than fan speed which is what iStat Nano is displaying.

Great Review! Exactly what I was looking for. I've always been a pc use but have really started looking into getting a mac especially a imac. Reason for me wanting one is for simple video editing. It just seems the macs are made to edit video. I currently have a canon hf20 video camera and a gopro hd video camera. If you get a PC virus nothing will happen to your computer, however, if you send an attachment to someone with a PC you could infect their computer. Also if you want something small thats portable get the Macbook. But if you want something big and nice that has a good quality screen get the iMac.

i have this in my office, its the worst decision i made. its sure looks amazing but it always crashes on me and its really not as easy to use as people say they are. Ive just got new windows 7 on my laptop so i just take that in to use now. Windows 7 is so much better then windows vista. I love apple products for thier design but i really dont like the software :(

@FlyYouFools88 Well FlyYouFool88 it depends on what you do. a PC is I agree the ultimate computer for BUSINESS USES. Macs are not good computers if your a business person or just using a computer for work, scratch that their TERRIBLE for for work. But if you just need a simple computer for home uses such as editing videos for youtube or checking your email or even video chatting, I totally reccomend the iMac FTW. But of course its all in your opinion :)
