It seems to me that if a politician wants to do something that is unpopular or not in the best interest of the public all they have to do is say 9/11 and everyone gives in. By saying that I'm in no way saying 9/11 was not a horrific day in our country, but it does not give the authorities the right to take away our rights and that is what they are doing. On a positive note however I believe that President Obama does have this country's best interest at heart.
