Sal you are the man! I think I can speak for almost everyone when I say I appreciate everything you do to help educate people! You teach more science and math to people across the country than all the overpaid professors at universities combined
Is there a video which explains Gauss's law ?? can someone please link the video for khanacademy if there is one, or just give me the link to a video which they thought explained gauss's law properly?

At 5:59 the electric field at that point is = (9 x 1000) / 4 = 2250 Newtons per coulomb not 2500. Kinda insignificant but just pointing it out lol. Awesome video man.
I got the jist of what you were saying. My class is just starting to learn about this so no one except this other kid is as far as I am. I just want to thank you for the help. You helped me finished my homework., :D
ur videos r really awesome! Going over the whole physics series to try and prepare for the graduate medical school entry test and it's so much nicer than sitting reading a text book, and your style of teaching is great! so thanks (all the way from Aus)!
This was an excellent video. Most certainly bolstered my understanding of the concept; also definitely taught in a very intuitive and meaningful manner.
My physics professor, Professor Wolf at Cooper Union told us that is a common misconception that more dense field lines means a stronger electric field. Good video though!
thnx so much now i understand electric field much better now :)
btw when u said that some field lines will end "infinitely" far away u meant that proportion of the magnitude of positive charge is related to the proportion of the number of lines beginning in the positive charge/number of lines ending in the negative charge rite?
blkjedi954, you do realise that Sal has quit his day job just so he can give FREE videos to the world. I found your comments disrespectful. Everyone appreciates the way Khan teaches because of the way he teaches. He's giving up his time to educate whoever wants to be educated.
Disrespectful? Are you kidding? All blkjedi954 was doing was offering some constructive criticism. It's not like he was bashing Khan. He even said Khan was doing a great job (which he is, of course). Lighten up.
@luketheduke1982 I hope you live in a different country where your opinions are restricted. So with a great big American "hell yeah", go play in traffic..lol
awesome vids, but you probably should outline what you're gonna talk about beforehand. Sometimes it sounds like you're rambling, you go in one direction, then another, then you comeback. Its a tad irritating. I subscribe to you b/c you provide an alternative point of attack of the subject matter which is deeply appreciated and helpful. But try and remain focus when imparting material that is somewhat slippery to grasp. Thank you.
I most definitely agree that it's far more important to intuitively understand what the math describes, after all, that's what math's for!
btw, could you help me out with some of the more complex aspects of electronics? I'd like you to do a vid on transistors, op amp's, and maybe even a bit of boolean logic (I know I'm practically asking for another few sections) I'm just asking because I've had trouble making these things out and I think your genius could teach me why

khan . . does the electric field vector fall off to a certain limit? In other words, do the vectors converge?

@ShankMasterKank i would disagree...his voice is really annoying and sounds non-informative...but that's just me

Sal, it's 2250N, not 2500. Make sure to post a note in the video so this doesn't confuse someone (like it did to me :P). Thanks for the video!

horntail140 2 years ago
srry this is confusing...i mean
q1/q2=number of lines beginning in positive charge/number of lines ending in negative charge
because u mentioned that some lines will begin/end infinitely far away
horntail140 2 years ago
It's 2250 right? there isn't a correction listed anywhere, so it makes me think im doing something wrong.

Yeah, it's 2250.
